00:44you to believe that we could be headed toward a similar result in game seven which no one seems to
00:48believe yeah uh actually i i took away a couple things one was you know all the games that the
00:56spurs have won in this series victor wambinyama has come out and he's made it a point to be like
01:00i'm going to be the best player on the floor today no one's stopping me on both ends and and

01:05to be disruptive and most of his the three wins that they've had so far he's really dominated that
01:09first half and last night was no different right like he had a great you know uh stat line for
01:15the
01:16entire game the 28 points multiple rebound the three blocks etc he probably had more blocks than that
01:20or at least uh you know altered some shots at the rim more than those three blocks but he was
01:25impressive and most of that happened in the first half second half he kind of cruised and
01:28the rest of the team took him there it also helped that the spurs did hit a lot of threes

01:32that definitely helps too but the one thing that stuck out to me outside of victor kind of setting
01:37the tone was also the physicality from the spurs i think they picked up on something in that loss in

01:42five in san antonio we all know the picture of victor wambinyama now whispering in in in his teammates
01:48here as they're coming on plumbly and beyond bill coming coming onto the floor whispering hey go knock
01:53someone out basically and and they did that to jared mccain they took that body check on him
01:58well we saw a similar body check being thrown uh by the rookie carter bryant yesterday on shea gills
02:03alexander that didn't get upgraded we saw devin visele get in the face of chet homegrin there was no
02:08technical foul so it was like the spurs kind of realized like okay we can get to the line and

02:14as we don't go over and play within and if the the refs are going to let us be physical
02:18we can kind of
02:19stick with this team and let victor would do what he does and i thought that in that moment the
02:24thunder
02:25didn't show enough fight and i'm not asking them to go out and brawl right like that's not what i'm
02:29asking them to do but i'm asking them to kind of shove back whether it's putting the ball in the
02:33net
02:33or at least step up for your teammate when jared mccain got decked no one walked up to to anybody
02:38on the spurs and said hey don't do that again or is there going to be a problem shea gills

02:43got decked to the floor no one said anything either they kind of just thought oh review it that's not

02:48response you need to have you need to take manners into your own hands and not let the refs do

02:52and you know the thunder get a lot of credit for their poise and keeping that poker face but i
02:56thought last night especially the way that the spurs were kind of hitting them physically and they
03:01didn't fight back and kind of challenging them in that moment you know getting to their heads a
03:05little bit i thought that showed up in the way they played in the second half because the spurs kind
03:09of took over that game and the thunder said you know what i'm gonna let go over the rope and
03:12hope for
03:13a better result in game seven and if you quit once craig as you know you could probably quit yeah
03:19should be a fun one here and thunder three and a half point favorites total of two twelve
03:25and a half and so carlin you've now seen six games you've also seen the regular season that the spurs
03:31were the only team in the nba to give the thunder a battle basically consistently which way are you
03:36going to go game seven game seven and and normally we say you know these game sevens are close there's
03:42going to be tight and you know there's going to be low scoring i'm my gut still tells me the
03:47thunder
03:47are the better team they're going to be at home i expect them to win now if you are going
03:51to agree
03:51with me in that side of things i think you can level up a little bit and not only just
03:55take the
03:55thunder on the money line you could probably take them on the spread as well and you could probably
04:00take them in the first half because what we've seen in this series thus far is whoever basically
04:04wins the first half wins the game like that just normally happens in this in this series so far the
04:09way that's played out through six games the other thing is that third quarter has been so important
04:13to both those teams the winner of the game normally plays well in the third quarter so if you want

04:17take a third quarter bet that's that's probably something that you can do as well so uh if you're
04:21disagreeing with me i would take the opposite on everything that i just said right there uh but i think

04:26thunder are going to win this game i'm not only just going to take them on the money line but
04:30i would
04:30take them on the spread as well and first half uh being ahead in the first half as well uh
04:34so just kind
04:35of give me some level of value because it's not you're not going to get much just on the money

04:39i mean you could get a little bit more on the money line just by taking sga instead of the
04:44thunder
04:44because the thunder are minus about 150 in the game but to win the mvp carland sga is minus 135

04:51if you believe that the thunder are going to win i would assume that sga is the mvp of the

04:57conference finals wemby is plus 130 i mean there's no one really else out there on either team that has
05:03a shot here so that's another at least way to look at it if you like the thunder here unless
05:08you really
05:09think that alex caruso has any legit shot which i do not yeah what we're doing right now we're
05:14building failure for whoever's going to you know have a five six like parlay right now and and
05:18salivating over the weekend for their winnings because we're just adding things on that uh you
05:23know you're you're going to talk yourself into and the sport sport books are saying like craig carlin
05:27go ahead yeah keep telling them to add likes to that parlay that's what we like to see but you're
05:31right if the thunder are going to win i can't see anyone other than sga winning mvp has he played

05:36to a standard probably not but guess what his standard is a level above everyone else's right
05:42like the the what he's doing right now is probably a great series for any bench player and you have
05:49to consider the fact that chet holgram hasn't played you know to his level jalen williams who's
05:53the second best player on the on the team has been in and out of the lineup he gave him

05:57nothing last night and i don't know what he can give him tomorrow night so sga has to be sga
06:02but him being sga just means he scores 30 points and maybe dishes out 10 assists and that's a pretty
06:07good stat line and maybe a ho-hum night for him in his opinion let's take a look real quick

06:12props if we could uh as far as their their totals are uh sga 29 and a half wemby 27
06:19and a half
06:20rebounds of course wemby is going to get a much bigger number here 12 and a half there and then

06:25know on the flip side the assists will go to sga and then points rebounds and assists very close for
06:30both carlin 41 and a half versus 42 and a half is there any of those numbers that stick out

06:38the assists so seven and a half for sga i'm gonna give you the stat last night he threw 39

06:44passes for the entire basketball game for someone that has the ball in his hands as much as he has
06:49the ball in his hands you know 39 passes to me just isn't enough that means he's not moving the

06:53quickly enough and those 39 passes don't necessarily mean that they're going to be led to assist like
06:57those could just be giving it to someone else to carry it up the floor so you know that's a

07:01number for sga he's been around that for the entire series so i would say under on his assist total

07:44the thunder can win the championship or will win the championship uh the next 24 30 hours is your last
07:50shot to get plus money i mean this is it if you think that's the case yeah and i i
07:55still do i'm
07:56still shocked that the the nicks are at plus uh you know 210 even right now by not only by
08:02the way
08:02they played but the fact that they have so many fans that i thought that number would come down by
08:06now they kind of it is it is crazy that uh you know we've seen this team play as well
08:12as they have
08:12and i know that they're not playing teams at the caliber of the san antonio spurs or the caliber of
08:18even the minnesota timberwolves uh you know that are in the western conference um but you still you
08:23play who's in front of you and and the nicks did that but they didn't just beat them like they
08:27dominated these teams you know back-to-back sweeps you know we saw what they did to atlanta in the
08:31last
08:32three games it's an 11 game winning streak it's a historic proportion so you know going into that game
08:38one i think if you're a nick fan you should feel pretty good regardless if it's the spurs or the
08:43thunder
08:43because not only is this now a seven game series but it's been pretty physical for both sides and
08:48you've been able to have a week off and heal your body and as you know craig saw last year
08:53you know it's attrition right it's a war of attrition that the the pacers might be champions
08:57if not they're if not for their best player going down you know at the worst possible time so you
09:02know
09:02we don't have jalen williams fully healthy if the thunder are able to get past the spurs we know
09:07that deer and fox has been banged up a little bit with that ankle injury on the spurs side uh
09:11you know if
09:12they're able to get past the thunder so no one's coming in fully healthy but the the knicks are
09:15coming in healthy and they're playing good basketball i know mitchell robinson broke his
09:20pinky finger uh but you know he's a bad free throw shooter anyway so that wouldn't have changed anything
09:24at the line for him so i think he'll still be able to kind of perform at his level when
09:29push comes to
09:29shove so uh if i had you know um i would put money on the knicks right now even if
09:35you you have a slight
09:37uh hope that they are going to win the immediate finals because that's that is to me you know
09:42ridiculous that they are you know even you know plus 200 you know it's it's uh that's that's good
09:46money man they're playing great basketball and they'll have a lot of momentum heading into these finals
09:51yeah and you see their their number against okc it's plus uh 215 and i think that if
09:58regardless of who wins i'm going to guess that the knicks are going to move down in these hypotheticals
10:03no matter what because once it happens that makes the the picture clearer it's just that at this
10:08point as you see if okc wins it's minus 265 now let's flip over to the spurs they're minus 225

10:15the knicks are plus 165 but i got to tell you if the spurs win the only reason why carlin
10:21they're
10:21minus 225 and not minus 180 or something like that is because we just don't know right now if they're
10:27going to be in the finals so that's the reason why these lines aren't tighter but they're going to get
10:30tighter regardless of who wins yeah and and the fact that again anytime you can get some money on
10:36a team that's really playing really hot and remember the knicks are going to be on the road for the
10:40first two so they already have that mentality of like we're going on the road we don't have to change
10:44anything if they steal one of these two games and go back home we know what new york might burn

10:50like i think i think there needs to be some some sort of market on whether or not new york
10:54will survive
10:55a knicks championship because i i would lay the juice on whatever uh you know whatever odds i'm
10:59going to get on it being it's going to burn down so the nba lottery is going to change and
11:05it would
11:05appear carlin that if you have one of the worst three records in the nba it doesn't guarantee that
11:10you have the most ping pong balls moving forward that was my biggest takeaway of all of it was that
11:15yours as well or was there something more to it it just seems like something had to be done to
11:20stop teams from basically playing not playing players in that second half like some of the
11:24stuff utah was doing was just crazy yeah it's a dramatic change right like you go from you know
11:30the current lottery system if you're in the bottom three you have a 14 chance of getting that number
11:34one pick now you go down to a 5.4 chance of getting that top slot so being one of
11:40the worst teams in the
11:41nba isn't beneficial anymore because teams 21 through 27 actually have a better chance of getting the
11:48number one pick in this new system it's an 8.1 chance of landing that top spot so you know
11:54hopefully this does curve tanking i don't think it will completely eliminate it because you're always
11:58going to have drafts like this one where there's generational talents there and people are going
12:03to say hey it is better for me to lose so i could win later than to win these games
12:08and and kind of stay
12:09in this stagnant and no man's land that's the worst place to be in the nba there are a lot
12:13of teams
12:14you ask around the league right now craig who are in that no man's land that wishes
12:17they can get a number one overall pick in a draft like this so you know 2027 i don't think
12:23we'll
12:23feel the impact of it because that draft isn't expected to be as good as this one it's going to
12:27be a little while before we get something that's generational like this draft so um you know not
12:32only is the tanking going to change but trades are also going to change going forward in the nba
12:36and that's the interesting part to me and definitely so all right carlin great to catch up with you we'll
