00:01Well, tragic news. A 31-year-old woman who police say was known to the child has been
00:07taken into custody and is assisting police with their inquiries. Police were called to
00:13a home late last night, just after 11 o'clock, where they sadly found a child unresponsive
00:18and declared them dead at the scene. Now, police remain on the scene this morning and
00:23they have launched a homicide probe. They're not yet saying what the relationship between
00:28the woman and the child was, only that they were known to one another. Now, we've spoken
00:33to neighbours on this street this morning who say they're shocked and devastated to have
00:37woken up and learnt of the tragedy that's happened on what's normally a quiet street. Here's a
00:42little bit of what they had to say earlier on.
00:45Well, just shocking. That's stuck my whole day up now. I just feel sorry for them.
00:58And unfortunately, I do tend to get emotional. So I'm just about ready to lose it. So I can't
01:06handle kids getting hurt.
01:08Now, investigations are continuing and police are asking anyone with any information to
01:13come forward. They say there's no ongoing threat to the community.
