Man charged with attempted murder after woman allegedly set on fire at Kingston south of Brisbane

Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a woman was allegedly set alight south of Brisbane. The woman aged in her 30s remains in hospital in a critical condition. The man, who is known her, faces a range of charges.

00:00Police and SES volunteers combing three suspected crime scenes, all within a kilometre, and

00:09all allegedly connected to the same incident. Emergency services were called to a home at

00:14Logan south of Brisbane just before 8 o'clock this morning, after reports of a domestic

00:20violence disturbance. There they found a woman in her thirties, she'd allegedly been set

00:25on fire. I didn't know anything about it until I came outside and I saw the SES down

00:32the road. I said, that must be really serious. The search for evidence extended to a nearby

00:37train station and a park. The woman was treated here by paramedics. Police say she suffered

00:44serious burns and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. She remains there in

00:50a critical but stable condition. A 36-year-old man was taken into custody and late this afternoon

00:57was charged with common assault and attempted murder.
