00:01You know, sometimes the hardest part of prayer is not starting, it's continuing.
00:08It's easy to pray when your heart is full of hope and you can almost feel the answer getting close.
00:15It's harder to pray when the same problem is still sitting in front of you.
00:21It's harder to pray when the door has not yet opened, the pain is not lifted,
00:27the relationship has not healed, and the answer has not come.
00:35And that is where many people just quietly stop.
00:39They do not always stop believing in God.
00:42They just stop bringing that part of their life to Him.
00:46And they get tired of asking.
00:49They get tired of waiting.
00:51They get tired of feeling like they're saying the same words into the same silence.
00:58But I want to remind you today, pray until something happens.
01:06Do not pray because you think God is cold and needs to be convinced.
01:11Do not pray because you believe you have to wear heaven down.
01:16That is not who your Father is.
01:19Pray because staying close to God matters while you wait.
01:24Pray because your heart needs a place to go.
01:27Go with what it cannot carry alone.
01:32Pray because fear gets louder when prayer gets quiet.
01:37Prayer keeps you connected to the one who sees what you cannot see yet.
01:42And sometimes, sometimes, something happens around you.
01:49God opens a door you could not open.
01:52He sends help you did not know was coming.
01:55He brings peace into a conversation that seemed impossible.
02:00He provides, heals, restores, protects, redirects, and makes a way in a place where you honestly saw no way at
02:12all.
02:12But sometimes, the first thing that happens is inside of you.
02:19Your panic starts to loosen.
02:22Your thoughts become clearer.
02:24Your strength begins to return.
02:28You stop making decisions from fear and you start to realize,
02:34Hey, my situation is not fully changed yet, but I'm not being crushed by it in the same way anymore.
02:42And you know what?
02:43That's not nothing.
02:45That is God working in a place other people cannot see.
02:51We often look for the miracle outside first, don't we?
02:55We want the instant answer.
02:57We want the big sign.
02:59We want the problem to disappear overnight.
03:03Totally get that.
03:05When you are hurting, you don't want another lesson.
03:09You just want relief.
03:12You want God to move.
03:15But while you are waiting for God to move the mountain, he may be holding you steady at the foot
03:21of it.
03:22While you are waiting for the door to open, he may be teaching you how to stop falling apart in
03:29the hallway.
03:30While you are asking him to fix what is broken around you, he may be healing something broken within you.
03:39And that's why you cannot quit praying too soon.
03:43Jesus taught people to keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking.
03:49He knew how tired the human heart can become.
03:52He knew we would confuse delay with denial.
03:56He knew we would wonder if God hurt us when nothing seemed to change.
04:01So, he reminded us to keep coming back to the Father.
04:07And prayer is not always a speech.
04:12Keep that in mind.
04:13Sometimes it's just one sentence whispering through tears.
04:18Sometimes it's sitting quietly and saying,
04:22Lord, I do not know what to do.
04:27And sometimes it's nothing more than,
04:31Jesus, help me.
04:33You know, God is not impressed by polished words.
04:36He receives honest hearts.
04:40You do not have to sound strong when you pray.
04:43You do not have to hide your fear.
04:46You do not have to pretend you are fine.
04:50Faith is not pretending the pain is not real.
04:54Faith is bringing the real pain to a real God
04:57and trusting that he is still good in the middle of it.
05:02Somebody needs to hear this clearly today.
05:07You are not bothering God by bringing it to him again and again.
05:15You see, a loving father does not get tired of his child coming close.
05:21He's not annoyed by your need.
05:23He's not offended by your tears.
05:26And he is not ashamed of your weakness.
05:30He knows the burden is heavy.
05:32He knows how long you have carried it.
05:35And he knows the part of you that is trying to stay faithful
05:39while another part is exhausted.
05:43Bring it to him again.
05:47Bring the fear you keep hiding.
05:49Bring the family situation that keeps weighing on your mind.
05:54Bring the decision you do not know how to make.
05:58Bring the hurt you still do not know how to explain.
06:03Bring the dream that feels delayed.
06:07Bring the person you are worried about.
06:09Bring the private battle nobody else sees.
06:15Then leave it with him as many times as you need to.
06:21That's what many of us miss.
06:24We bring something to God and then we take it back five minutes later
06:29and start carrying it again in our own strength.
06:33Prayer is not only asking God to act.
06:36It's learning to release what was never meant to rule your heart.
06:42You may not get an answer on your schedule.
06:45And it may not come in the form you expected.
06:49God may say yes.
06:51He may say wait.
06:53Or he may redirect you in a way that makes no sense at first.
06:58He may close something you begged him to open.
07:02Because, see, he can see what would have harmed you on the other side.
07:09Sometimes, rejection is protection.
07:13That does not mean he's ignoring you.
07:15It means he's wiser than you and kinder than you know.
07:19So, keep praying until peace happens.
07:23Keep praying until wisdom rises.
07:27Keep praying until courage returns.
07:30Keep praying until the wrong desire loses its grip.
07:35Keep praying until the right door opens.
07:38Keep praying until God changes the situation.
07:43Changes your direction.
07:45Or changes you in the middle of it all.
07:49But, keep praying.
07:53That's the secret.
07:55Something will happen when a person keeps meeting God honestly in prayer.
08:01Maybe the storm will come.
08:03Maybe you will become steady inside the storm.
08:07Maybe the answer will come suddenly.
08:10Or maybe the answer will grow slowly.
08:12Maybe you will look back one day and realize God was doing more in the waiting than you understood while
08:20you were living through it.
08:23Do not quit in the silent middle.
08:27Keep praying.
08:28The silent middle is where faith becomes more than a feeling.
08:33It's where trust becomes real.
08:36It's where you learn that God is not only present when life makes sense.
08:41He is present when your hands are open, your eyes are tired, and your voice can barely form the words.
08:52Pray anyway.
08:54Pray when you feel hope.
08:56Pray when you feel numb.
08:58Pray when you have words.
09:01Pray when all you can do is breathe his name.
09:04Prayer does not have to be beautiful to be powerful.
09:10It only has to be honest.
09:15You see, God has not forgotten you.
09:18He has not misplaced your request.
09:21He has not walked away from your life.
09:24Heaven heard you the first time.
09:27And your Father is still near today.
09:30So, take that burden back to him.
09:34Not with shame.
09:35Not with panic.
09:37Not like a stranger begging for attention.
09:40Come as a son or daughter who is deeply loved.
09:45Pray until something happens.
09:48And while you wait for the answer, watch closely.
09:53God may already be doing something within you.
09:58My name is Douglas Vandergraaf, and I believe in Jesus Christ.
10:05God bless every single one of you.
10:09Every single one.
10:12Keep praying.
10:16Bye-bye.
