All 29 Malaysians who took part in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission were released and are now safe in Istanbul, Turkiye, according to the Foreign Ministry.

In a statement issued on Friday (May 22), the ministry said the Malaysians would undergo medical and health assessments before returning to Malaysia.

00:27It noted that although the flotilla did not succeed in reaching Gaza, the mission succeeded
00:33in drawing greater international attention to the blockade on Palestine.
00:38A total of 428 activists from 44 countries involved in the GSF 2.0 mission who were detained
00:47by Israeli authorities have also been released.
00:50The activists arrived in Istanbul on Thursday aboard three aircraft.
00:55Those injured during the mission were taken by ambulance from the airport while all activists
01:01were later brought to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for examinations as part of
01:06an investigation launched by Turkish prosecutors.
01:10The flotilla organizers said on Tuesday that all 50 vessels in the convoy had been seized
