One of the Malaysians unaccounted for following the devastating floods in Nepal has been confirmed safe and returned to Malaysia, says the group representing Malaysians missing in Nepal.

Malaysia Solidarity: Families in Hope (Masfih) spokesperson Manivannan Rethinam said the person had reported themselves to the Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu.

00:31Manivanan said the individual was at Nagthali viewpoint at 3.26pm on August 25, one day
00:39before the devastating floods struck.
00:41The individual was reportedly stranded after roads and bridges were destroyed, while power
00:47and water supplies were disrupted.
00:49The lack of internet access also limited the person's ability to move around and communicate.
00:54Manivanan said the development means the number of Malaysians unaccounted for has now fallen
01:00from 55 to 54.
01:03He described the safe return as a meaningful development for the family, which can now
01:08reunite with their loved one after 37 days of uncertainty.
