00:39Earlier, the Malaysian government reported that efforts were underway to bring home approximately 4,000 Malaysians affected by floods in Hat Yai and other districts in Songkla province.
00:51Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said authorities were obtaining the latest information from the Malaysian Consulate General in Songkla to identify those still trapped, including lecturers and 40 students.
01:06The Consulate General has instructed Malaysians stranded in hotels to gather at their respective lobbies, as local authorities prepare to relocate them to safer locations.
