00:14I'm owner and founder of Dayweather Incorporated. We're a private weather forecasting firm in
00:20Cheyenne, Wyoming. It's a small outfit. We've got four meteorologists to work in a variety of
00:26different areas where meteorology, forecasting, and climatology is needed from broadcasting to
00:34transportation to aviation, as well as anybody that needs specialized custom weather information.
00:47My first paying job was a paper route. I started in junior high with a paper route and had several
00:53throughout the course of my school years. And that was my first job. But I also was my church janitor.
01:02I also was the guy with a lemonade stand every summer. So I was working in some form or fashion
01:08at a very young age. When I work on these, especially these high altitude projects,
01:19where it's a combination of engineering, marketing, and science, putting all those three together makes
01:29a very unique mix, but also makes it extremely satisfying. The Red Bull Stratus project back in
01:352012, when a gentleman named Felix Baumgartner rode in a balloon to 128,000 feet and then jumped,
01:43broke several world records, broke several world records, and was watched by over 50 million people
01:47globally live. You know, that was a combination of those things I mentioned, cutting-edge engineering,
01:53marketing, and science. It was a great combination. And, you know, what I just witnessed with the NASA
02:02adventure with Arminus 2 to going around the moon in the back, you know, that, I think,
02:08in a lot of ways, how NASA handled that with their marketing and with their social media,
02:14I think, was probably somewhat inspired with what we did with the Red Bull project.
02:24That's certainly a challenge that everyone's going to face at least once in their career,
02:28probably many times. My advice is, you know, to your own self, be true. I mean, stick to your guns.
02:36When you're brought on, whether it's a job, whether it's something that you're a full-time,
02:42part-time, or you're hired as a consultant, you're there to provide your expertise and your knowledge.
02:48And sometimes you find that other people think that they have the same knowledge set as you and
02:55will try to sway maybe a decision or maybe the way things should be done against what they have you
03:02there for. And I've encountered this several times, especially with weather,
03:05because everybody can go and look at the weather and get their own forecast. So stick to your guns
03:11and be firm and strong and hold your ground.
03:20The golden rule. You know, I was brought up with that and that's something that stuck with me through my
03:25whole life.
03:27And that, you know, do unto others as you would do unto you.
03:30And I think that comes up all the time, whether it's in your business life, it's your family life,
03:37whether it's your friends. That is one thing that I have found is always rock solid.
03:49Trustworthiness, reliability, knowing that thick or thin, that they're going to be steady.
03:56They're going to be there always.
03:58Trustworthiness.
04:01Trustworthiness.
04:04Trustworthiness.
04:05Trustworthiness.
04:06Trustworthiness.
04:07Trustworthiness.
04:08Trustworthiness.
04:08Trustworthiness.
04:08Trustworthiness.
