00:11welcome everyone to the myers report fast 15 it is friday june 19th 2026 it is the end of a
00:21very
00:21productive eventful work week our whole gang is here weatherman in chief don day trucker
00:28extraordinaire isaac isa and economic maven bob genetsky next week bob bring the bagels and cream
00:35cheese um one of the questions that's been asked constantly is what do we think or what do i think
00:44of the iran deal i think the iran deal was nothing short of brilliant and the terms of the iran
00:51deal
00:52are completely irrelevant here's why the critics would say that we're at the same place we were
00:59only before you know before the war not true if trump were purely political he would have held off
01:09attacking iran until after the midterms inflation was down the economy was good everything was good
01:16he could have waited the only reason he went ahead is he believed that we were out of time
01:25and that's it now so what happened he had the attack so where are we then versus today and i
01:33don't care
01:33about the terms of the agreement of the memorandum of understanding which is not a real agreement
01:38where we are today is iran's nuclear capacity has been set back years so the key thing is what happens
01:47after the midterms presumably the republicans are going to maintain the house and the senate
01:53and uh president trump will have two years to work it in the meantime the iranian economy is in a
02:01mess
02:02the leadership has been is in disarray there's growing uh discontent and feelings of rebellion
02:08among their existing people we have time iran does not gary can you explain what you mean about out of
02:17time uh that they were getting too close they were getting too close to developing a nuclear capacity
02:24now it you don't need a nuclear missile you don't need an intercontinental ballistic missile to
02:31deliver a nuclear warhead you can do that in a container isaac can tell you that and you don't
02:38even need a bomb to create havoc you can smuggle radioactive material and poison a reservoir of a
02:44major city or there's a million ways that we could get hurt the point is their ability the iranian ability
02:52to continuing developing their nuclear capacity is gone at least for now their their top leadership
03:00is gone the uh economy that they've had is in a shambles and it can get a lot worse a
03:08lot very fast
03:09that's the position we're in we can sit and wait and in the meantime the russians are getting
03:16they're just getting clobbered the chinese haven't done anything because they're getting hurt
03:21and they're short on oil they we we are winning on all fronts this is what trump has accomplished
03:28what really is going to happen is how the iranian situation gets negotiated and handled after the
03:37midterms what we have now is time to wait to get that done what it sounds like gary is that
03:44this was
03:45more about weakening the china's and the russians of the world through the pinch points and all the
03:51pressure we put on iran is that is that is that what all of that is true it's all of
03:57that is true
03:58because where we where we attacked them 12 months ago and per president bush we put their nuclear
04:03program back two decades didn't necessarily do any impact on russia and china but with now it's
04:09in the last 16 weeks now we have some of our you know some of our the superpowers of the
04:14world
04:15bending the knee to america i would say would you agree i absolutely agree we are in a strong strong
04:22position uh we've negated we've neutered iran and we've weakened russia and we particularly weakened
04:29china that's what i see happening that's where we're at yeah okay don day has our southern drought
04:41seen any relief a lot of relief in fact a little bit too much of a good thing with some
04:47flooding from
04:48tropical storm arthur that went along the gulf coast region over the last few days and flooding in
04:54louisiana and mississippi but at the same time those areas have been under drought here for well since
05:00this winter uh there's still help needed especially in the carolinas georgia florida up into virginia are
05:07still really dry but uh the south is seeing big improvements in their drought are there any other
05:14storms on the horizon not tropical storms uh we we probably are going to be looking at more severe
05:20weather this weekend in the western uh plain states uh western corn belt down into the south central
05:26united states but really as we go into the first day of summer officially on sunday um it's not going
05:33to
05:33be a hot start to summer whatsoever temperatures next week are going to be a bit below average over
05:38most of the nation is there any are there any hot spots around the world particularly in europe europe
05:44is going to be hot france in particular uh england they've had one heat wave already this month they're
05:50going to get another one but they're kind of the exception uh if you're looking for some really hot
05:56weather that's where to go well my point is they're going to be hit with greater fuel demands for air
06:01conditioning assuming they have it or just general okay what should we look forward to for next week
06:07uh next week is going to be a little on the cool side uh and rain chances are looking pretty
06:12good i mean
06:13if you're wanting the corn to grow it's going to be wet for that but we are lacking a little
06:18bit of heat
06:19uh we're going to go into july not hot at all across a good part of the u.s okay
06:24isaac isa our logistics
06:27guru isaac spot rates hit a record highs as you said they would why driver capacity uh this all
06:37started it's really begun uh almost 12 months ago exactly when trump signed the executive order
06:42uh for english-speaking uh mandating english-speaking truck drivers we've seen rates go up every single
06:50month single digit rates low single digit increases every single month since then but the chain of events
06:56that happened afterwards is what led us to hear from the executive order uh mandating the english
07:01mandating english-speaking truck drivers to banning non-domicile truck drivers to the supreme court
07:08ruling that just took place 30 days ago now naming shippers and uh brokers liable for truck accidents
07:15where they weren't in the past it was all trucker liability this has been ground shaking um ground it's
07:25it's i would say i would argue more consequential than deregulation in 1980 um rates have gone up
07:3130 to 35 percent in the last 30 days the big focal point right now is so where we've seen
07:39contract i'm
07:39sorry spot rates affected in a huge way contract rates here in the last two weeks have been the focal
07:46point contract rates are you have every carrier going back right now renegotiating contract rates you have
07:53most shippers across the nation right now routing guides are completely crumbling you know rates that
07:59were set in place beginning of the year no longer stand and and and we're seeing it driver pay has
08:08been
08:08the biggest driver of all this push the drivers that are that are compliant the drivers that are safe the
08:14companies that employ these drivers are the biggest winners of this driver pay is itching up
08:19i personally have gone back to some of our customers already two three times for rate increases over the
08:26last 30 days and i've got every single one of them it's all happening it's all happening right now we
08:34are on the cuffs of a super cycle and i would argue a prolonged super cycle because what we're not
08:40going
08:40to see in this super cycle that we've seen in every other one historically is an influx of drivers and
08:47carriers that now jump into the industry with all the regulation that's tightened up we're simply not
08:53going to see that there's there's there's there's the barrier the barrier of entry has risen in a huge
09:00way and for carriers who prioritize safety it's going to be uh it's going to be a wild ride this
09:07is all
09:07good isaac this is what you have been hoping for all along correct oh yeah it's uh it was not
09:13only all
09:13good yes yes yes yes bob but also all good for our public safety you know these carriers were running
09:19double log books 20 hours though all this came to a head because of what we've seen in our in
09:25our news
09:26right where these truck accidents are taking two you know killing killing american citizens on the road
09:32right and it finally came to a head what happened what took place under the biden administration
09:37all the riffraff that entered our industry right we all know about the open borders what we what we
09:43what we haven't talked about is the what you know what what the flood of all that um open border
09:50activity that entered into our industry and took us in a in a hue in a in a completely deteriorated
09:57public safety i personally have told my own family members countless times over the last several
10:04several years you see that big truck over there on the highway stay away from him it ain't the same
10:10trucker that we know of from 10 years ago 15 years ago these guys are dangerous more importantly they're
10:16careless that's important to know okay uh isaac one last one last question amazon's going into the
10:26third-party trucking business is that going to be able to push rates down how is that going to impact
10:32the industry i think amazon's in for a rude awakening i think we're going to see a boomerang effect because
10:37most of the capacity amazon's they built an entire network i legacy was one of amazon's top carriers in
10:462018 and 2019 amazon one point in time prioritize safety and they picked safe carriers 2020 we saw
10:55everything change they they built their entire in tens of thousands maybe even hundreds of thousands
11:00don't quote me hundreds of thousands of truckers they built an entire capacity infrastructure
11:07around the exact shady characters that are now exiting the industry okay dr bob janetsky
11:17yes sir on the economy uh i want to share okay yes it's still here we got that okay
11:28here we are in the past few weeks diesel prices are down uh about 50 more than 50 cents they're
11:38down
11:38actually about 50 cents and gasoline is down about 45 cents a gallon um this to me seems to be
11:49anti-inflationary and uh interest rates have basically held steady uh though there is a general
11:59downward bias since president trump took office uh what is your take on this well there's there's
12:07inflation in particular items and inflation overall in a fundamental sense what we experienced was we
12:14experienced a spike in inflation due not to overall demand but due to a shortage of oil because of the
12:22effect of the iranian war so we had a what i call a one-time temporary jump in oil prices
12:30and in inflation
12:31measures as a result of that limit on supply as the limits on supply end and they're ending right now
12:40as we
12:40speak even aside from the agreement what we have is we have alternative measures being taken
12:46by the neighbors of iran to redirect their oil in other ways either through pipelines or alternative
12:55ways of shipping and so they are taking a lot of this power away from iran and that will continue
13:01to
13:01erode on time until iran decides that they want to become a typical nation and behave the way ever other
13:09nations behave so what we're seeing now is we're seeing the temporary downward move
13:16to offset the upward move that came before this is not fundamental inflation and so the uh very high
13:23rates of inflation that people have been complaining about uh are really no longer in effect
13:30uh then we're going to go back to what was an underlying rate of inflation of about two and a
13:35half percent
13:36and maybe even drop a little further than that okay one of the things also that's come up
13:42is that the uh there have been concerns about our fuel supplies and the fuel supplies
13:51are rebounding that we didn't we never really had a shortage and the other issue of course is
13:58our shrinking uh strategic petroleum reserve which we had forecast i don't know a month or so ago maybe
14:06two that president trump was going to be selling off the uh selling off the strategic oil reserve
14:14selling it down to about 30 35 percent of capacity because he's basically selling fuel prices selling off
14:22strategic oil at a high price and we'll buy it back when the prices are low and there is a
14:29glut on the
14:30market which is what we see coming right and you're too modest gary you were the one who talked about
14:36that who made that prediction and it's come to pass um president trump has a pattern of making money
14:44whenever the situation is available can't we can't see you bob no i know you can't but i'm still here
14:51okay i don't know what happened all of a sudden everything flashed and i'm trying to
14:56okay no worries video anyway i'm still here that's the bottom how does it look for the stock market
15:02going forward with all of this i think it looks good not just uh longer term which is of course
15:07the
15:08more important thing where we're going to be at the end of the year but i believe a lot of
15:12these things
15:13now are going to come to pass we are going to see a significant increase in productivity
15:19and real growth and profits as high as they are i think are going to remain fairly strong as far
15:28as
15:28the short term we continue to see a momentum model that tells us the odds short term are pretty good
15:35for this market to continue to rise i would put them at right about 75 percent that we will continue
15:42to see in the next two weeks higher rather than lower prices okay bob what do you think if there's
15:50any risk on the horizon here from now to the end of the year what a are there any risks
15:56that we should
15:56be aware of or what what do you foresee because the main main risk i think is the obvious one
16:00that
16:01iran misbehaves i mean it's obvious we expect them to misbehave they've never behaved in the past
16:08they don't believe that they've been defeated they believe that they were the victors in this war
16:13uh which i i think is just part of their erratic and fanatical behavior but they are actually claiming
16:22they have won the war and they've well they're claiming it whether or not they believe it is
16:27another issue i don't think they do i think they might they are just okay but anyway who can get
16:36if they're irrational who knows what they really exactly exactly so i can see additional bumps in
16:42the road as far as that's concerned but as you pointed out in the beginning gary they no longer
16:48have the ability they once had to take a nuclear weapon and basically destroy their neighbors and the
16:56u.s well i think the key thing that trump's objective was was to buy us time and time which
17:05i think he did
17:06and therefore time is on our side i think he will get the job done so our question of the
17:12day are you
17:13guys optimistic or pessimistic about the eventual outcome of the iran deal don day i'm optimistic but
17:21one thing that i think is really important here and i will be more optimistic if we see iran's neighbors
17:30cooperating with us to kind of keep iran in check and i think this is the first time in the
17:35middle east
17:36where we've seen other countries kind of line up and i think that is a kind of a wall to
17:43put up around
17:44iran if we can get them to kind of be the keep an eye on iran i think that is
17:50something that trump is
17:51trying to get done so i i would be optimistic if they continue to step up isaac yeah i'm optimistic
17:57um
17:59there's not much that can happen now that's going to take this uh smile off my face uh gary
18:07bob janetsky are you optimistic as optimistic as ever thank you gary okay with that i want to say
18:14thank you guys have a great safe weekend have a happy father's day and god bless america
18:24you
18:30you
