Borderforce USA Season 7 Episode 2
Transcript
00:06Every day, 5,000 cargo vehicles cross the 3.2-mile far bridge in Texas, making it one
00:15of the busiest trucking routes in America. The most common thing on this port is what
00:21we call transfers. Drivers that are transfers, they just pick up the tractor-trailers on the
00:27Mexican side and just drive them over. That's their job. Have a safe trip. For truck drivers,
00:33the transfer route offers a steady source of income, but can make them vulnerable to exploitation.
00:45This morning, a fuel tanker trying to enter in the fast lane is selected for inspection.
00:52This lane is normally used with drivers that have a fast card, which means that they're pre-vetted.
01:00But it's been a trend lately that we need to double-check drivers that have fast, as we say,
01:08due to the local cartels finding new ways. They're getting a hold of people that have
01:14good records, fast cardholders, to get their narcotics across.
01:26The tanker that entered through the fast lane is x-rayed.
01:35How does it look?
01:37So far, I'm looking around at the basics. So far, so good.
01:47The tanker is clean, so Officer Rodriguez checks the cab.
01:56Looking at this, I think you should take a look at this area right here, yeah.
02:02There's an unusual shape in the driver's sleeping compartment.
02:06Some type of rectangles that are actually darker than the surrounding area. It's an anomaly right here, actually.
02:20We found something. Mike, Mike.
02:22It's brilliant. It's positive.
02:24Are we going to be flicking jail?
02:25We have to do what we have to do.
02:46Any load on the back window, please? How many in the vehicle?
02:49There are nearly seven million outstanding warrants in the U.S. for wanted criminals.
02:55What are you going to do in Mexico?
02:57Any fugitives returning to American soil...
03:00Are you bringing them back with you?
03:02...risk being stopped by Customs and Border Protection officers.
03:14Today, at the Progreso Bridge, a young woman returning home from a shopping trip to Mexico has been detained.
03:22Right now, I have a subject that attempted to enter the United States. She is a U.S. citizen.
03:27Upon running her name, the primary officer saw that she has a warrant.
03:32She's just been doing her own thing, living her life, roaming around the U.S. with no issues,
03:37because she hadn't had contact with law enforcement.
03:43The woman claims to know nothing about the warrant.
03:47I'm going to take your fingerprints, okay?
03:49Stand up.
03:50Your left hand, four fingers, right here.
03:57Her prints are taken to confirm her identity.
04:02What did you go do in Mexico today, ma'am?
04:04Today, it was my first time, so they were showing me the project shots.
04:07And where do you live? Relax your hand.
04:11What do you do for a living?
04:14What do you do there?
04:15I'm a receptionist.
04:17Before that, I did attempt to go into the military.
04:19What happened there?
04:20It didn't work out, I got sick.
04:21Have you ever been arrested?
04:25Okay, we're going to go right into the cell until we know what's going on with you, okay?
04:34There's a restroom right there.
04:36You need water.
04:37You can just let me know, okay?
04:42Further details about the warrant have come through.
04:45It's a no-bond warrant for military desertion.
04:49This is actually my first time I am seeing a warrant for military desertion.
04:54I had never seen it before.
04:55This is very uncommon.
04:57Military desertion is the unauthorized and permanent abandonment of duty without permission.
05:03It can carry up to 10 years in jail.
05:08With very few details and a serious charge, Officer Peña digs deeper into her story.
05:15Do you know more or less what's going on or not really?
05:29The woman pleads ignorance, but Officer Peña delivers the bad news.
05:34Okay, so that's what it's for, and we're going to see.
05:38You're going to want to come pick you up because you have a warrant for that.
05:45She is saying that she attempted to go to the military and that on her way over there,
05:49she did not feel very well.
05:51She decided that she was not going to make it.
05:54Nobody told her she was going to have a warrant for military desertion.
05:58So she seems to not be aware of why this happened.
06:11At Far Bridge, a fuel tanker being driven by a pre-approved driver with a fast pass has been stopped.
06:18It's an anomaly right here, actually.
06:21Suspicious shapes in the driver's sleeping compartment have shown up in an x-ray.
06:25Some type of rectangles that are actually darker than the surrounding areas.
06:34While the driver is detained in the cells,
06:39the tanker is taken to a secure area,
06:43where Officer Hinojosa immediately spots more irregularities.
06:49The difference between the sleeper and the cab,
06:53there's about a four-inch difference.
06:56And then if we make our way back here,
06:59we'll be able to see that the sleeper is supposed to be standing on airbags.
07:05For some reason, they were taken off.
07:10They zero in on this area.
07:12The anomaly was underneath the mattress.
07:16Got all his personal boots.
07:20But you can see there's a break here on the floor.
07:24And that's fiberglass, right?
07:26Yes.
07:27This sleeper is normally made out of cheap metal, so there shouldn't be any fiberglass.
07:40There's a mat.
07:41There's a compartment.
07:43The cab's been modified to create a hidden storage area beneath the driver's bed.
07:49Oh, I see something.
07:51You see that?
07:55We got bundles.
07:58We got it.
07:59We got it.
08:11In Progreso, a young woman returning from a trip to Mexico has been detained.
08:21She has a warrant for military desertion.
08:24Fort Sill, this is the people who were looking for her.
08:28Oh, okay.
08:28So is that what kind of going to pick her up?
08:30Yeah.
08:31I just heard that we got confirmation it's going to be an extraditable warrant.
08:39Officer Peña is informed that the woman deserted from Fort Sill Military Academy in Oklahoma
08:44five years ago. Although the woman claimed she didn't know she had a warrant out for her arrest,
08:50she'll be picked up by the local sheriff and handed over to the military.
08:55Fort Sill already made arrangements that Oak County is going to pick up and hold for them.
08:59I believe that's where she should have gone for basic training.
09:07Does Fort Sill ring a bell or anything?
09:09That's what I went before basic training.
09:11Okay.
09:12On the very first day, I put the box in because I went to some sort of hospital.
09:16Okay.
09:16And ever since then, I was on hold.
09:18After you left the hospital, like, you didn't contact them?
09:20I'm just kidding.
09:21So you just didn't follow up with them?
09:24You feel like maybe that's why they put a warrant out?
09:29So what made you go in there in the first place?
09:31My brother's also in the military.
09:33So I wanted to go with them and then my friend watching.
09:37Oh, okay.
09:38So it's kind of like a family tradition to join the military.
09:42It was fine.
09:43You have to be tough mentally, right?
09:45Yes.
09:46Do you want me to tell the people you're traveling with to leave?
09:48Because they are going to pick you up.
09:50You're going to go to Itago County Sheriff's Office.
09:56I believe her heart was in the right place enlisting because of her brother.
10:01She was not prepared to make that life-changing decision since she was super young.
10:06She will ultimately have to face the consequences of not going through her choice of enlisting.
10:14Officer Peña informs the girl's traveling companion that her friend won't be coming home tonight.
10:19So they are going to come and pick her up in Itago County.
10:24She's going to get arrested, okay?
10:27She's your friend?
10:30I'm sorry.
10:32But she seems to be taking it away.
10:35If it didn't come out now, it was going to come out later if she went on a trip flying
10:40anywhere.
10:41So I think it's better for her to arrange that now and fix it.
10:45Any other questions?
10:49You're welcome.
10:49Have a good one.
10:51Can I have your name and badge number?
10:56Law enforcement arrives to make their arrest.
11:01Right there.
11:02Amy, can you stay your phone in, please?
11:04All right.
11:04Are you going to be set up?
11:06Yes.
11:07Turn around.
11:08Are you going to be arrested, okay?
11:09Yes.
11:12I'm sorry.
11:13I think that means so much.
11:16Overwhelmed by the situation, the woman starts to feel unwell.
11:21You want to sit down?
11:22You need to use the restroom real quick?
11:27When Hidalgo County came, she started to get visibly sick.
11:31She asked for a trash can because she was about to throw up.
11:33And it is just very interesting how the same thing happened to her when she was going to her basic
11:39training.
11:40With no bond allowed, she will be extradited to a military base in Oklahoma and could be locked up for
11:48the foreseeable future.
11:49It's very important for somebody if they're going to make that kind of decision to really do their research
11:54and be very sure because these are the consequences that will follow.
11:59Now, she is going to jail.
12:01She's going to get arrested and face a charge of desertion because she did not follow through the whole enlistment.
12:22Eagle Pass International Bridge links the city of Piedras Negras in Mexico with Eagle Pass, Texas.
12:36It's a popular route for the 30% of Texans who have friends and family in Mexico.
12:43And the purpose of your trip?
12:44Well, I came to pick up your grandma.
12:51This afternoon, an SUV has been stopped.
12:55We have a vehicle that was returned from Mexico.
12:58It was sent to inspection.
13:00It smells like marijuana.
13:02We're going to have seven point and go from there.
13:06The vehicle belongs to a man who's returning home with his nephew after a family gathering.
13:12It smells like weed in there.
13:14Do you smell it?
13:16Oh, yeah.
13:21You can kind of see some residue here.
13:36Looks like residue.
13:46This vehicle was referred in due to a strong odor of marijuana.
13:49We searched through the vehicle.
13:51I did find a small jar with what looks like residue here behind the LED screen.
13:57They have what appears to be a pipe with some residue.
14:03Due to the strong smell, they're concerned a larger stash of marijuana might be hidden in the vehicle.
14:10It's sent for an x-ray.
14:14Every vehicle can have, like, secret compartments.
14:17It's just a matter of finding them.
14:20A good area would be this area right here in the dash.
14:26Engine is a big block, so you can hide stuff there.
14:29Like, anywhere you can think of, they can hide things.
14:36The scan comes up clean.
14:38I didn't see anything.
14:40But officers are still not convinced the pair isn't hiding something.
14:48Even walking around them, I can smell it on them, so...
15:00They bring in a canine to conduct a body search.
15:08If the dog detects any drugs, it will alert.
15:18No alert is made, so the uncle and his nephew are clean.
15:27But while the search has turned up only a small amount of suspected marijuana...
15:32So we're going to have an officer test the residue if it's positive.
15:50We're going to charge the driver a $500 fine.
15:54But before a fine is determined...
15:57Outside, events have taken an unexpected turn.
16:02The younger man has been violently sick, causing officers to be concerned.
16:08Have you taken anything today?
16:10I need to know for your safety, all right?
16:11Yes.
16:12Be honest with me, if it's your safety, then I'll be able to find it.
16:16You want an ambulance?
16:18Or you got to do a safe service before I come here immediately?
16:26In FAR...
16:27We got bundles.
16:29Officers have discovered packets of suspected narcotics.
16:32Hidden in the cab of an empty fuel tanker.
16:35Here's one.
16:37Here's another.
16:38The cab's been modified to create a hidden storage area beneath the driver's bed.
16:44A very good sophisticated compartment.
16:46They didn't get in luck this night.
16:48There you go.
16:50The secret compartment is packed full.
16:5630.
16:5730 packages.
16:59That's great, man.
17:00That was the last one.
17:08That's what I call an empty compartment right there.
17:11The bundles are taken to the seizure room to be processed.
17:17I strongly believe it's going to be cocaine, but it could be crystal meth.
17:22Using laser analysis, the testing kit can identify over 14,000 substances, including all the common narcotics.
17:30Do it open, just enough, so I can shoot my laser in there.
17:40And sure enough, my guess was correct.
17:44100% cocaine.
17:51All 30 packages contain cocaine.
17:55We're going to go ahead and transfer the 30 packages over to our scale, and we're going to determine the
18:01weight.
18:03Over 90% of cocaine headed to the U.S. from South America travels through Mexico.
18:10And every package that's intercepted disrupts that trade.
18:1534.56 kilos of cocaine.
18:19Even if the driver was coerced by a criminal gang, he's likely to be facing significant jail time.
18:28Today's bust has taken drugs with an estimated street value of over $1 million out of the hands of the
18:35cartels and their dealers.
18:37It's a significant amount.
18:39And we are stopping that narcotic from entering the United States.
18:43It was teamwork, and it was a great result.
18:53The Texas-Mexico border is the busiest international crossing in the world.
18:58Any kind of medication with you today?
18:59We get coconuts.
19:01And when you head to Michigan.
19:03Officers here rely on experience, intuition, and instinct to spot when someone is lying.
19:09How old are you?
19:09I'm 20.
19:11Nothing in your pockets?
19:11No.
19:13No.
19:13Here you go.
19:13All right, thanks, sir.
19:14Ma'am.
19:16This afternoon in Progreso, Officer Cantu.
19:19How are you today?
19:19I'm good and you?
19:20Is vetting travelers in the pedestrian lanes.
19:24What do you bring with you?
19:25Nothing.
19:26What was your trip in Mexico?
19:28A dentist appointment.
19:29Where do you live?
19:30Mississippi.
19:36You live in Mississippi now?
19:38Yes.
19:38When did you get here?
19:40Literally now at 4.30 when I got here.
19:42From Mississippi?
19:43Yeah, I was traveling for 25 hours.
19:44And when are you headed back?
19:46Tomorrow.
19:46So you came just for the dentist?
19:48Mm-hmm.
19:48That's it?
19:49No medicine with you?
19:50No nothing?
19:50No, nothing.
19:50They didn't give you anything?
19:51What did they do to you?
19:53Cleaning.
19:55The woman claims to have driven 25 hours
19:58for a 15-minute dental appointment.
20:01Who's your dentist?
20:05She's a female one.
20:07The only female one, actually, from there.
20:09I don't know her name.
20:16Officer Cantu sends her for further questioning.
20:22So you have nothing with you?
20:24No.
20:24Nothing on you?
20:25No?
20:25Okay.
20:26We're going to have some options.
20:27We're going to talk to you right now, okay?
20:29So I'm sending in a single female from Mississippi.
20:32She says she came out on a one-day trip to see the dentist.
20:36She says she got here around 15 minutes ago.
20:39Went across, spent just a little bit of time,
20:41and it's coming right back.
20:43It doesn't make sense.
20:45Officer Cantu thinks it could be a cover story for something else.
20:50They might have come down to deliver something,
20:52maybe drop off some money, or pick up some contraband,
20:55take it back.
20:58A thorough inspection will determine
21:01whether the woman has something to hide.
21:03Can we bring anything back from Mexico?
21:05No.
21:09Have a seat over there?
21:11A seat over there on the bench?
21:15Where do you live?
21:16Is all of that necessary?
21:18Yes, you're in the port of entry, and you're subject to an inspection,
21:21and you're in an inspection area.
21:23What, am I in trouble for something?
21:25You're being inspected.
21:26For what?
21:28You're not under arrest.
21:29You're just being detained at the moment while you get inspected.
21:32It's called border judge authority.
21:34Anybody that leaves the country and comes back into the U.S. is subject to inspect.
21:38It's called border judge authority.
21:38You're in trouble for it.
21:39It's called border judge authority.
21:40It's called border judge authority.
21:43Yeah.
21:46Yeah.
21:46Yeah.
21:46In Eagle Pass, two men returning home from Mexico.
21:50Looks like residue.
21:51have been caught with a small amount of marijuana but while officers are
21:56determining what penalty the pair will face one has suddenly gotten sick so the
22:02passenger in the vehicle is feeling sick he's been vomiting we've asked him a
22:05couple times if he wanted an ambulance he's refused worried the man may be more
22:10ill than he's letting on a trained medical officer is called to the scene
22:18no sick do you need anything before you came here no yeah how old are you 18 but
22:29I'm gonna put this on your finger a normal resting heart rate is between 60
22:38and 100 beats per minute the man's is 140 which is dangerously high and could
22:46indicate a serious problem you have a heart rate that's pretty fine
22:52you take any recreational drugs or anything like that no my patient was going
22:58in out of consciousness dozing off getting out of it he denies taking any drugs so
23:05officer barrientos checks his blood sugar low levels could cause drowsiness
23:15but the reading is normal
23:37it seems a night of partying and a day in the heat
23:41has proven too much for this young man we're down here in the south here the
23:45temperatures go up to 80s 90s and sometimes at 100 so people sweat all the
23:49time but they don't understand that once people stop sweating they're in greater
23:52health danger than they actually think
23:55you want to go to the hospital
24:06weak and unable to stand the man agrees to go to the hospital for treatment
24:16we weren't sure if the young man was overdosing or what he had been taken so we took some precautions
24:21hopefully helped him out we're not just here to you know look at the enforcement side of things to hook
24:29people up if they have warrants and stuff like that we always want to look out for the person
24:33themselves if if they're sick or if they're not well we want to make sure we're taking care of them
24:38but the teenager's uncle isn't free to go yet
24:46this positive for marijuana are you gonna pay on card cash
24:52he'll only be allowed to leave once he settled the $500 fine so the gentleman was issued a penalty
24:59uh he's taking care of that and hopefully he's on his way to the hospital to go check on his
25:04family
25:04member who he's riding with
25:16at progresso bridge a woman is being questioned
25:19what was your trip in to mexico a dentist's apartment
25:22she claims she drove 800 miles to mexico for dental work and is now returning home
25:30leading officers to suspect it's a cover story for something else
25:34they might have come down to deliver something maybe drop off some money or pick up some concert
25:39band take it back
25:41what am i in trouble or something knowing you're having you're being inspected for what
25:47you're not under arrest you're just being detained at the moment while you get inspected
25:51and then another question do you have anything on your person where do you reside where do you live
25:57i don't answer anything just that
26:00we can do one of this two ways
26:03you go through with the inspector and it's easier on you to get you out of here
26:07you want to keep doing this the run around how difficult you want to make it is entirely up to
26:12you
26:13your unwillingness to comply is a red flag for officers where do you live
26:24you're not gonna answer any questions convinced that the woman is hiding contraband somebody who
26:30complies has nothing to hide officers decide to carry out a physical search do you have anything
26:37With you, on your person, in your person, nothing.
26:41She wasn't cooperating with us, so that was the reason
26:44for the pat down.
26:46It's more suspicion.
26:47She didn't want to answer easy questions.
26:58The body search finds nothing.
27:01But she's not free to go yet.
27:04I'm checking to see if she has any hits that we need
27:08to look forward to.
27:10Officer Gutierrez runs a criminal background check.
27:15If she has any warrant, she doesn't.
27:22Both the body search and woman's record are clean,
27:26although officers still have their suspicions.
27:29She might be doing just what we call the test run.
27:31If she comes across, does a quick surveillance
27:34of the way that we run things around here.
27:35Yeah.
27:36And then she'll be back at a later date
27:37to complete whatever she wants to get done.
27:43We're going to go ahead and release her.
27:46She's free to go.
27:51Do you have any questions about what happened?
27:53From now on, her crossing history will be closely monitored.
28:16Hello, good afternoon.
28:18How are you?
28:20Officers who commit to a career in customs and border protection come from a variety
28:25of backgrounds.
28:26I'm legacy, I guess.
28:28And for some, joining is a family affair.
28:32My dad's a Border Patrol agent.
28:34Once I was graduating college, I was like, well, I guess I'll try it.
28:39And I ended up here and I liked it.
28:42Growing up, it was really cool to have a dad that was fighting crime and kind of looking
28:47out for the country.
28:51He has around 25 years in.
28:54So being able to have the old knowledge come in is very useful, honestly.
29:00And maybe past trends that you'll see repeat again, it's very useful to have.
29:11This afternoon at the Camino Real crossing, Officer Olivares has pulled over a driver.
29:24He's been sent for further investigation after attempting to bring in a hunting trophy.
29:31No firearms, right?
29:32No firearms.
29:32Perfect.
29:33Any ammo?
29:34No.
29:34No.
29:35Really quickly, can you do me a favor?
29:36Can you remove the knife and put it on the seat or in the anything?
29:41Yeah.
29:42Just a trophy?
29:43Just a trophy.
29:44Yes, sir.
29:45Is the tag signed on the belt, sir?
29:48There it is.
29:50Would you mind bringing them out?
29:50Yes.
29:52Illegal hunting is a significant problem in Mexico.
29:55So the man must prove his kill is legitimate.
29:58Okay, you can go ahead and put him over there on the table.
30:03It's just one trophy or how much?
30:05Yes, it's just one trophy.
30:06All right.
30:08It's a hunting trophy.
30:09They have to be registered.
30:11It'll have a tag and then match the paperwork.
30:14Almost similar for hunters to bring in a gun.
30:16Everything needs to match.
30:18But something isn't adding up.
30:38The hunter admits to using the same tag on a previous crossing with the harvested venison.
30:45Officer Barrera wants to run some checks.
30:48Whether I believe him that he's lying or not, the problem is that the tags are meant for
30:53one-time entries.
30:55So if he used that tag for the deer meat, technically it's been used, it's been voided.
31:00So for him to go back, use the same tag to import the trophy is where the problem is.
31:04Just kind of having difficulty proving that it's from the same animal and he's not reusing
31:09the tag for multiple harvested deers.
31:12Without proof that the deer head is legal, the man could be suspected of smuggling.
31:19And a search of his vehicle has revealed something that raises further suspicions.
31:24These aren't tagged.
31:26These aren't tagged.
31:26It was underneath the bags.
31:28They have to be registered.
31:46At the northern border, the Ambassador Bridge links Windsor, Ontario, Canada to the city
31:56of Detroit in Michigan.
32:02The purpose of the trip?
32:03The baseball trip.
32:04Playing or watching?
32:06While most travelers pass through without incident, each year almost 200,000 people are detained
32:15for problems with their travel documents.
32:17Have a safe trip.
32:19Appreciate it.
32:19Bye-bye.
32:25This morning, a car has been stopped after its occupants failed to produce any ID at all.
32:33The three men are from Honduras, but they claim that they live in the U.S. and headed towards
32:39Canada by mistake.
32:42More than likely, this was a wrong turn.
32:45We get a lot of wrong turns here in Detroit where they mistake the highway and they get on the
32:51bridge to Canada.
32:55They turn around on the bridge and then we encounter them here on primary.
33:01When anyone enters a port of entry mistakenly or not, they are subject to inspection.
33:07And the men's lack of documents is leading officers to suspect they're living in the U.S.
33:13illegally.
33:21One of the men says his proof of residency is in the car.
33:25He said it was in the back, but it wasn't back there, so I'm thinking maybe...
33:28What the heck?
33:29No, he said it was in the back, but it wasn't.
33:31But so far, nothing's been found.
33:37The men claim to be staying at a hotel in Michigan.
33:50Only the address they've provided doesn't exist.
33:55If they don't have the right documents, they get detained, they get processed, transported to a detention center until they
34:06can get a flight back to their home country.
34:17As his search continues, a card hidden in the luggage catches Officer Shipman's attention.
34:27Well, that's not real.
34:29This either is a altered or straight counterfeit LPR card.
34:36And it looks like maybe possibly a Social Security card along with it.
34:43The ID is a permanent residency card that belongs to one of the travelers.
34:48Yeah, there's no raised lettering on it either.
34:50No hologram.
34:52Yeah, it's a straight counterfeit criminal.
34:56Yep, 100%.
35:04At the Camino Royale crossing, a man has been stopped after officers spotted that the entry requirements for his hunting
35:11trophy did not follow legal protocol.
35:15These aren't tagged, it was underneath the bags.
35:18Loose antlers found in his truck, if added to concerns he may be smuggling illicit hunting items.
35:28The man produces some paperwork and is able to prove the antlers, at least, are legal.
35:35But to eliminate all suspicions of smuggling, he must show that the buckhead is from the same kill as the
35:41meat he crossed on a previous occasion.
35:44All right, so here's your passport and ID.
35:46You're going to take this, sign the signature, your sir, and you get the copy for this.
35:51All right, so I'll be right back.
35:53OK.
35:54The man hopes his forms for the venison will be enough to avoid a fine.
36:00I asked him if he had a declaration form for the meats, which he did.
36:03So, kind of puts one and one together.
36:06So, where I said it was good enough to just make a copy of both declaration forms and send it
36:12down the road.
36:16Officers are satisfied there's no evidence of wrongdoing.
36:20And he's released.
36:24But any future hunting trips will require the proper tax, or he'll be leaving his prized trophy behind and picking
36:31up a penalty instead.
36:33One lonely time, so I should be happy.
36:44At the U.S.-Canada border, three men originally from Honduras are suspected of living in the U.S. illegally and
36:53have been detained.
36:57What looks like a fake ID has been found in one man's bag.
37:01Well, that's not real.
37:03As well as some of his immigration documents.
37:06All right, this is some of the paperwork they're looking for.
37:14That's a counterfeit document then, if it's got his name on it.
37:18I'm not sure if that's his true name, so that's another thing we'll have to identify if that's his true
37:22correct identity or not.
37:24That's obviously fake.
37:25It's super, super rare up here. I mean, it's almost unheard of.
37:29Good catch, Officer Shipman.
37:32It's a criminal offense to possess a fake ID, so the man will face charges.
37:40But to build their case, officers want to find out more information.
37:45Is this yours?
37:47Yes.
37:47Yes.
37:48Yes.
37:50Yes.
37:51Yes.
37:54Yes.
38:11You could face prosecution, possible removal from the United States due to being in possession of these cards.
38:19We handed that over to our fraudulent document analysis unit.
38:24Further research into his public records shows the man has already been in trouble with the law.
38:31You have an order of deportation?
38:33Me?
38:34You.
38:36You.
38:36He's previously been issued with a deportation order and may have evaded his court date.
38:58The man claims the court date is in a few weeks' time, but records prove otherwise.
39:05The subject that we have in custody, he was found with a previous removal order, which means that he missed
39:11his initial court date.
39:12The judge said that he needed to be removed from the United States. After that, he never left and that's
39:17now how we encountered him.
39:27None of the men can provide proof that they are legally in the country. So officers seize all three of
39:33their phones to investigate further.
39:47And on one of the devices, the search uncovers shocking images.
39:53We seized a phone and during that seizure, we came across some criminal activity. Photos and videos that were very
40:00graphic in nature. It came directly off the subject and it was in his media.
40:05This phone's owner is seen taking part in what appears to be a cartel style execution.
40:13He's immediately locked up.
40:16Every day these threats come up. This one's right in front of us so we can take action and prevent
40:22more things like this from coming in the United States.
40:24All three men are taken into custody pending further investigation.
40:29Coming through.
40:30If you just talk to them briefly, you would never guess that until you went through their phone and then
40:35that's where all the hidden secrets generally come out.
40:39As an officer, your job is to protect the homeland and this is what we're doing.
40:43Who won't be here for the right anger and this is what they'll do as you Ci-Fatu?
41:12We'll be back to little
