00:26The problem is, I'm beginning to get all types of strange reports from the neighboring towns.

00:46Last year, we had a very significant spike in unusual emergency calls.
00:52I gotta tell you, I've never seen anything like it in my 36 years of police work.
00:59I assembled a team of top paranormal investigators to help us solve some of these bizarre cases.

01:48the kids, the parents going to work, but here we are going to look for ghosts.
01:53And everyone else is going about their everyday life.
01:55We didn't expect to be staying here in West Virginia for very long,
01:58but paranormal activity is picking up so much in towns just outside of Shepardstown
02:03that we're actually getting phone calls from other paranormal groups that need our help.

02:33We just got a call yesterday from a local paranormal team who's been helping a client
02:36named Nina in Sharpsburg, which is right up the river from here along the Potomac.
02:40And apparently her paranormal activity has gotten so crazy so fast that she's had to
02:45call the local police.
02:49How far away is Nina's house from the Potomac River?
02:53A couple miles.
02:54Four miles.

02:55This is our second case in a row where the town is situated right along the Potomac River.
03:01And that supports our theory that water is acting as some sort of conduit enabling the
03:06negative entity to travel from one town to the next.

03:14And they all happen to lie along the Potomac River.

03:49He noticed something on the ground, and he realized that it was a bullet, a Civil War

03:56It had teeth marks in it.

04:00Neiman's house is in Sharpsburg, which is one of the bloodiest battlefields in all the
04:04American Civil War.
04:05Thousands of men literally died right here where I'm standing.
04:08Seems like you discovered something that ties back to the Civil War that took place here,
04:12the Battle of Antietam.
04:14In September of 1862, the bloodiest day in American history occurred in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
04:23The Battle of Antietam was the 17th day of September.
04:28Sharpsburg was shelled by Union artillery for 15 hours.
04:37There were so many killed, the water ran red.
04:41Every building in the town was said to have been a field hospital.
04:46They would amputate body parts and kind of throw them out the windows.
04:50My grandfather, who was 10 years old at the time, would help pick up some of those limbs
04:57and throw them into the wagon.
04:59To this day, they are still recovering skeletal remains of soldiers.
05:05Everyone here knows we're not alone.
05:07We're sharing the town with the dead.
05:13So where's the bullet now?
05:15Another paranormal group was here, and they thought that if they took the bullet away,
05:21that that would take care of the problem.
05:23It actually became a little bit more aggressive.

05:32Our marriage just dissolved, and then my ex-husband, John, moved down in the basement.

05:39That's when things got really bad.
05:41When it started to escalate, that's when you got divorced?

05:45I had tenants downstairs.
05:48Four out of five of the tenants that I had down there have either ended up in rehab or
05:53a psych ward.
05:54Something is taking over my basement.
05:57I've been investigating these types of cases for a really long time, and when you have this
06:01many people experiencing the same thing in one room, it's not a coincidence.
06:05So who else lives here?
06:07I live here by myself now.
06:08Everyone has just kind of left.
06:10Like, one by one, just out the door, and I'm like the last man standing.

06:40So it's been going on for a really long time, but recently, it's escalated.

06:44And now, things are starting to happen to me.
06:49A couple of days ago, I started finding my rosary beads broken around the house.
06:57Then, one of them broke apart right in front of me.
07:01After that, I started seeing things.

07:14I saw a Native American woman.
07:17She was in the backyard.
07:20I ran into my bedroom.
07:26She disappeared.
07:27She was gone.
07:29If you see where the deck is, to the right, that's the window that I saw her from.

07:35I can see it on my camera.
07:49Recently, I've been having nightmares.
08:02The same Native American woman that I've been seeing in my backyard.
08:06She came to me in my dreams.
08:09She was limping, dragging her feet.
08:21I woke up in the middle of the hallway.
08:23I was terrified.
08:25I know she has a message for me, but I don't know what it is.
08:29She was leading me towards the door.

08:44This is the second case where we're dealing with some sort of haunted basement.
08:48I don't know if that's just coincidence or if there's some sort of pattern emerging here.

08:55To the back bedroom where John had his experience as well as the other tenants that lived here.
09:02The people that have lived here, I've had leases with them, and they would just break it and leave the

09:29That's the way my mom felt when she was down here.

09:32When I experience a sense of vertigo, it's a lot of times associated with negative energies.

09:42Well, right now what we're going to do is we're going to go through a baseline sweep with all of
09:45our equipment,
09:45try to figure out if there's any natural causes to these hauntings.
09:57Bill and I are going to be rolling on our cameras, and he has his EMF detector, also a digital
10:03recorder.
10:03Elizabeth wasn't feeling well in the basement earlier, so she's going to start upstairs
10:07while Bill and I get some readings in the basement.
10:17So this is a melmeter, and a lot of times we will use it for EMF sweeps,
10:21but there's also a function on it that's a barama antenna.
10:24So if anything breaks the electromagnetic field that it gives off, an audible tone will sound.
10:30And the closer it is, the louder it will get.

10:36Well, the good news is the toilet isn't haunted.

11:14So the melmeter just started going off by itself, and it was literally like someone was holding
11:19the end of the antenna and sounded like this.
11:21But it was lower than that.
11:23So it was like, that's what it sounded like.
11:28And I wasn't even anywhere near it.
11:29The REM antenna actually gives off an electromagnetic field, and if anything comes into the vicinity
11:35and kind of breaks that field a bit, it'll be disturbed and give an audible sound.
11:39The fact that my equipment is going off in the exact same spot where Nina has seen this Native American
11:45woman,
11:45it just has me thinking, is she trying to communicate with us in some way?
11:51That is from radio.

12:15And I think comparing the two beats, you can say, okay, well, that just means that something was actually in

14:20again, and it's just been doing this ever since.

17:00I moved down to the basement a couple weeks after I found the bullet.
17:04When I was down there, as you walk into that door,
17:07it gives you, like, vertigo.

17:10Yeah, and it gave me, um, it's like something heavy.

17:16We want to pass on that house to our son,
17:18but he doesn't want anything to do with it.

17:26Sometimes just being downstairs,
17:28your eyes will just go blank,
17:30and you'll just, um, I don't know, daydream.
17:33You lose, like, track of time a little bit,
17:34and you have these day terrors.
17:36It's like an eerie feeling,
17:37like you're being watched at every turn.
17:40If I ever give it a word, insanity.
17:45I had a weird feeling in the basement.
17:49A coldness took that room.
17:52I got dizzy.
17:54I felt nauseous.
17:57I wasn't sure what was happening.
18:01Things were kind of, like, out of place.
18:04Sometimes I come home, my keys, my wallet are on the floor.
18:08I had a chest set down there as well,
18:10and pieces would be knocked down.
18:13It gives me goosebumps just talking about it.
18:16Have you experienced this anywhere else?
18:18No, just, uh, in that basement.
18:20John confirmed that these experiences that he had
18:23only happened down in the basement,
18:25so I don't think that anything's actually attached to him,
18:28but I will say, when I was down in the basement,
18:30I had these, like, really manic feelings,
18:32so it seems like something is definitely there.

18:49and while he's done several sweeps in her property,
18:51he hasn't been able to find a cause
18:53for her paranormal activity,
18:54but he has collected some significant evidence
18:56that could actually help us correct this case.

19:11These were just basically balls of hot lead,
19:13and they were melting as they were fired,
19:15so when they hit you, they would mushroom out,
19:17so if they hit you in the shoulder,
19:18it would shatter the bone, it wouldn't go through,
19:20which is why there were so many amputations
19:22during the Civil War.
19:23With that one not being mushroomed out,
19:25I would imagine that one wasn't, hadn't been fired.
19:27Yeah, it was a non-fired bullet that was bitten down on.
19:29It probably was just somebody who just pulled it out of their box
19:31and gave it to somebody who would bite on this,
19:33which is where the term bite the bullet comes from.
19:35The bullet that Nina's ex-husband found in the backyard
19:38was never fired.
19:39If it was never fired, then it means it's never killed anyone.
19:41To be honest, I don't think this bullet has enough residual energy
19:44attached to it to create such a large spike
19:46in paranormal activity on Nina's property.
19:48You know, Nina thought that her house was used as a field hospital.

19:53Well, her house wasn't built until 1989.

19:58after the Battle of Antietam.

21:26Whatever's haunting that location definitely wanted to be heard
21:31or known that they were there.
21:33So this was a Class A EVP.

21:37That's how I recorded it.
21:39So an EVP is electronic voice phenomenon,
21:41and it's basically when you can capture a disembodied voice or sound in a recorder
21:45that is out of the frequency of the human ear.
21:48And in this case, Rodney captured what sounded like a woman screaming in the basement,
21:51and that's something we would not have heard without that recorder.
21:54A lot of people believe because they're a spirit that they're no longer in pain,
21:58which isn't the case.
21:59In some hauntings, the spirit's still suffering to some extent.
22:04She's still actively in pain, which means we've really got to help her, not just Nina.

25:55It could have manifested somehow a long time ago,
25:58whether it was energy and prints on the space from the Civil War
26:02or even the tenants that have lived here previously.
26:05They were into some sort of occult practices.

27:21Nina's property is well within that confines.
27:25So that land, all that land, had been Native American land.
27:29So where Nina's property sits, it's all Native Americans.

27:33That would have happened.
27:34Native Americans, when they'd cross the river,
27:36would take refuge in caves after their skirmishes and battles.
27:39There's caves all under that area.
27:43First of all, it's well known that the Catawba
27:45and the Delaware Indians battled it out in that area.
27:51The Delaware and the Catawba had a major battle
27:56in the late 1700s.
28:05During this skirmish, the Delaware took
28:09a female Catawba prisoner.
28:14They killed their prisoner and went on their way.
28:18The next day, they returned
28:25and cut off the soles of her feet.
28:35Why would they cut off the soles of her feet?
28:38Because they didn't want her spirit following them.
28:41So they would keep her captive even in the afterlife.

28:45Nina mentioned that there was something wrong with the ghost's feet.

28:49There's a lot of similarities between the history Dana shared with us
28:52and this ghost that Nina's been seeing.
28:55If this tribe indeed cut off the soles of her feet,
28:58it would make a lot of sense why Nina thought that she was limping
29:01or that something was wrong with her feet.
