00:00This team just better on the road, you know, as I always say, many people have said it winners of
00:03the past two road games they've played. I just that's a road team.
00:06I've ever seen one. Roach mode is many people have been saying now. OK, I think we've actually figured this
00:12out. I went for a beautiful day in downtown Cleveland.
00:15It's too sunny for me today. That's very Irish of you. Yeah. Yeah. What's wrong with me?
00:21I'm like, oh, I just can't wait till summer hits. And then you get like this really nice, beautiful day.
00:25And I'm like, that's goddamn bright out here, isn't it?
00:28I just just don't whatever you do. Don't answer that question. What's wrong with you?
00:32Just keep putting it off. Much like the game six talk never happened. I just can't find whether I like.
00:36But now I'm walking down the street here. It's beautiful. I'm down to town square and around.
00:42And I mean, it really is just as pristine as can be. And I had the thought.
00:47If only we could convince the Cavs that every game was game seven, if we could just have some sort
00:53of distortion reality field that you could just convince.
00:57Hey, just so you know, Tuesday night, Madison Square Garden, that's game seven.
01:02And I think we'd win by 30 points every damn time.
01:04Yeah. If Jared Allen just knew apparently the lights being too bright was they need to be brighter.
01:10That's the idea. He got it wrong for three years.
01:12They just weren't bright enough for him.
01:14Stop dimming these bees. Turn it up.
01:15That's all we needed in order to turn into one of the better players.
01:18So it's remarkable. And I mean, are you embarrassed for Detroit a little bit?
01:24You got to be a little embarrassed for Detroit.
01:25Oh, in what way?
01:26And the idea that they just got like, I feel bad for Detroit.
01:29That was the it was the second largest game seven deficit in the past 25 years of NBA basketball.
01:36Sucks to suck.
01:36Like that was a deep pantsing that you just I I don't know how you come back from that.
01:41They're going to try. But like, I can't even if you're a Pistons fan, you can't even get mad.
01:45That Kate Cunningham went like, oh, for a million from three and was like six of 15 or something stupid
01:51from the field.
01:52You can't get mad at that.
01:53Well, listen, I managed to listen to the ticket.
01:56Our buddies, Jim and John.
01:57Yeah, they're great segment today of when did you turn off the game?
02:00Yeah, really riveting stuff.
02:02What a great fan base that is.
02:03What quarter did you turn off the game?
02:04I listened to our friends Boomer and Geo in New York.
02:07I listened to Ken and Anthony.
02:08Let me just tell you, I don't know who laid down more.
02:12The Detroit Pistons in game seven or their radio station today.
02:16Just an embarrassing performance.
02:18What do you do in that scenario?
02:19I don't know what else you can do.
02:21I guess, you know, they lost.
02:22I guess, you know, whatever.
02:24Easy, easy.
02:24You're starting to sound like Lima after game two of the series.
02:27Ooh.
02:28That went a little too hard on the ooh there.
02:30Here's the point.
02:33That was the most embarrassing output for Detroit.
02:36And the best thing about this series, other than the Cavs advancing, is that we watched
02:41Detroit go from, hey, we're just happy to be here, playing with house money, to being
02:48crushed at the way the Cavaliers just snatched the soul of their favorite team.
02:52They went from, hey, we're not even supposed to be here.
02:56Nobody believes in us as a one seed.
02:58To J.B.
02:58Bickerstaff, after the game being asked, is this a disappointment?
03:01That is a chef's kiss.
03:03That's how you steal a town soul.
03:05Well, then J.B. was like, I don't want to hear any negativity.
03:07I don't want to hear only positive stuff.
03:09And the fact that their fan base reacted.
03:10Only complaints about officials.
03:12The fact that their fan base reacted in such a way of like, huh?
03:14Yeah.
03:15No, we get to complain.
03:16It was a game seven.
03:16You guys were supposed to win this thing.
03:18You're favorites in Vegas to win that game.
03:19What happened?
03:21Meanwhile, J.B. is acting as if everything should be sunshine and rainbows.
03:24And your team just, the one thing that you should be able to count on your team specifically,
03:29a bunch of gym class heroes, as you've dubbed them, is showing up with the tenacity and intensity
03:34that you need.
03:35You can't build a team on a bunch of try-hards and then have them not try hard in the
03:38most
03:39important game of the season.
03:40After treating game six as if it was game seven of the NBA finals, like you didn't, like there
03:47were, and I will give them credit.
03:49I saw a few people from Detroit go, are we celebrating this game six victory a little too
03:53hard?
03:53Are we taking too big of a victory lap?
03:55And the answer is yes.
03:57You won game six and forgot there was a game seven.
03:59I think they just spent everything in game six.
04:02They just, they spent everything in game six and then it just kind of was what it was.
04:05Because it makes them B's.
04:06Well, also in my version then too, it's like the Cavs realized, oh no, there's, there's
04:10going to be a game seven.
04:11And so we got to, we got to reserve ourself a little bit, but the reality is, is that,
04:14and this is something that we we've needed to see.
04:16And this is something the Cavs have that the Pistons don't have.
04:18Okay.
04:18Uh, if game three was the Harden game, game five was the Max Strews game, and then game
04:22seven was the, either the Donovan Mitchell or Jared Allen game, there's been guys outside
04:26of just Donovan to be able to step up.
04:29And that's the point.
04:29They didn't have that.
04:31Cade goes blank.
04:32And then Tobias Harris turned into, you know, Tobias Harris over the past three games.
04:37And they're just left with nothing Jenkins.
04:39Yeah.
04:39They're just, and they're just, you're just left with no Leroy Jenkins.
04:41You just left, you're left with nothing.
04:42That's the point.
04:43And so like the, the, the, it was evident and obvious the difference between the two teams.
04:47We have other guys that can actually step up.
04:50They have Cade Cunningham and a hope and a wish and a prayer.
04:53Now I do want to say Donovan deserves so much of the credit.
04:56That was a bulldog type performance.
04:58And yet, and so much of the analysis that I've heard today, somehow Jared Allen's not
05:04getting enough credit.
05:04And listen, Evan was consistently good in that game.
05:08You can say his numbers look better than Jared's do.
05:11I'm sorry.
05:12That was a master's class performance by Jared Allen.
05:16And at no point did he or Donovan to give again the credit that's due at no point did
05:21either guy let up.
05:22That was really like, that is the Jared Allen that we've been wondering, does he exist?
05:27And now he's existed in two straight game sevens.
05:29Donovan's importance was obviously in the third quarter in a massive way.
05:32But at that point, it's because Jared Allen already got you to a 20 point lead.
05:35Now you had to step on their throats.
05:37And so that's where Donovan gets a bunch of credit for stepping on their throats and then
05:40not letting them back in the game and taking care of business.
05:42But yeah, I'm with you.
05:43That's that's the Jared Allen game, in my opinion.
05:45Did that wake us all up, by the way?
05:46Are we now unified?
05:47I hope so.
05:48I don't know.
05:48I don't know.
05:50We ready for this one?
05:51We can be unified.
05:52I thought you meant more like is the is the city ready to finally embrace this Cavs team
05:56and make the conversations flow?
05:59I think it's basically the same thing.
06:01I think we're saying different words, but saying the same thing.
06:03I don't know.
06:04I feel like if they go down 0-2, we're just going to have the same conversations we're having
06:07after game six, just say, you know, I extended out to, you know, a different part of the
06:13year is all it is.
06:13I don't two weeks later.
06:14I don't hate that.
06:15Like, I mean, I do hate that.
06:17That was a really fun game.
06:18You're in the Eastern Conference finals.
06:20Now it's all right.
06:22All those all those first two round shenanigans, all that regular season shenanigans.
06:25No, no, no.
06:26Now we're in the service of trying to win a championship.
06:28Now we're in service of being all on board because you don't get to the Eastern Conference
06:32finals on accident.
06:34You just don't.
06:35And so I like I am here like, all right, I buy into this team.
06:39You you've done the things that you haven't done previously.
06:42I don't blame Cavs fans, though, if you need game one against the Knicks to give you that
06:47extra boost of confidence, just because right now, there's not a damn person giving you
06:51a shot in hell to win this game.
06:53One's going to be hard to come by.
06:54You know, you're seven and a half point dogs for a reason.
06:56Knicks haven't played a basketball game in 10 days.
06:58You just played a whole entire series.
07:00Easy money, by the way.
07:01Take the Cavs and the points.
07:02I mean, I think so.
07:03But like the actually winning that game is not going to be an easy.
07:07That's not an easy venture.
07:08But you're right.
07:09The amount of pieces I've already read that think this Knicks team is the Globetrotters
07:13and we're just screwed.
07:15Astounding to me as if all of a sudden two series against bad playoff teams reshaped the
07:20Knicks fortunes.
07:20Oh, great.
07:21Carl Anthony Towns can now do some post play.
07:24Congratulations.
07:24That doesn't turn you into a juggernaut.
07:26Yeah.
07:28Astounding.
07:28You beat a team that was, you know, a playing caliber team.
07:32That's what you beat in the second round.
07:33What are we doing?
07:34I don't understand it.
07:35I don't.
07:35And by the way, with like Joel Embiid on one leg, actually that's what it used to be.
07:39On no legs.
07:40You know what it is.
07:41I'll tell you exactly what it is.
07:43What happened was in the Philadelphia 76ers series, there were more media members than
07:48not that picked Philadelphia to beat the Knicks team.
07:50Okay.
07:50There were more, way, way more than we'll ever feel comfortable coming back and being like,
07:54yep, definitely have the 76ers in there.
07:56And they got embarrassed.
07:57They got embarrassed.
07:58They obviously heard it all from the Yorkers.
08:00And this is their way of coming back almost to be like, all right, wrong about that one.
08:04Not going to be slept on with you guys again.
08:06And I just think they've gone a little too hard.
08:08I also think that, all right, I do want to nip one thing in the butt real quick.
08:13Cavs are not playing with house money.
08:15They accomplished something they haven't with Donovan.
08:17Donovan breaks through the Eastern Conference Finals, glass ceiling.
08:21We're there, right?
08:22That is an accomplishment.
08:23It is not the accomplishment.
08:25Correct.
08:25And so the narrative today that's already forming of, well, I guess it's already a success
08:30or the Cavs are playing with house money.
08:31Guys, you're not going to feel that way in two games if they're down 0-2.
08:34You're just not like how they play in this series.
08:370-2 might be right where we want them.
08:38That's true.
08:38That's, that's, they'll be asleep then.
08:40We will have slept then.
08:41You just got to wake them up.
08:42Yeah.
08:43But no, I mean, I think like.
08:45Instead of letting them know, it's just hashtag wake them up.
08:47I don't know.
08:47And I, obviously you and I, everybody at the station, we lived through the LeBron years.
08:52At no point when we just got to the finals, did anyone say, well, mission accomplished.
08:57You got to the finals.
08:57It was always about, can you win the championship?
09:01I feel that same way about this series.
09:03Like, hey, just nothing that happens here matters and everything's kumbaya.
09:07It's like, what are we doing here?
09:10Like, nobody, nobody goes fourth place, fourth place, fourth place.
09:14Like, let's, let's, let's be a little honest.
09:16You can, you can, you can love what they did and also want more and expect more in this series.
09:20And that's kind of where we have to sit.
09:22Like, you can, you can love what they did.
09:23And, and instead of the conversation being, if they lose this series, like it was last
09:28series where you're blowing everything up, now it's just a little bit different.
09:30Now it's like, all right, if they lose this series, you're probably running it back with
09:33the same core and you're trying to get LeBron James.
09:36Maybe you're entertaining stuff if you can get Giannis, but like the idea that you're blowing
09:39it up and becoming a 20 win team, that seems to go away.
09:43And that's, that's probably the difference that we have here between rounds two and round
09:46three, Nick.
09:472-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-9-2.
09:49And Nick Wilson says, at Jay Peterlin on social media, social media reactions on X powered
09:53by Shabin Jewelers, Cleveland's premier jewelry store.
09:57Are the Cavs already playing with house money?
10:00I don't understand saying that before a single game has been played in the Eastern Conference
10:05finals, which is happy as I am to be here.
10:08I'll be even happier if we get Donovan Mitchell to, you know, the NBA finals.
10:12Yeah, that should still be the goal.
10:13And like, there's, there's all sorts of goals you get to have.
10:15It's just the, like, if you're someone like Kenny Atkinson, who legitimately, he had to,
10:19he had to have thought he was just out of a job if he lost game seven.
10:21And so now that's a little bit of a different conversation.
10:24I don't think Kenny thinks that far ahead.
