00:00It might be fight morning again here at the Fan, considering the way things started off.
00:04I wasn't the one losing their mind. I was calmer than you, dude.
00:07But right now, let's give away a team for the Fan Mic Draft.
00:11Caller 5, 216-474-0092.
00:13You're going to be named the general manager of one of the 32 picks at our 2026 Fan Mic Draft.
00:19That's April 16th. That's next Thursday, April 16th.
00:23Game on. Located Lorraine Road, North Olmstead Plus.
00:26You're going to get some exclusive Bud Light gear and a buffet dinner at the event.
00:30You've got to be 21 and older only, please.
00:3221 and older only.
00:34Too young to be a beer drinking if you're under 21.
00:37You've got to be 21 and older.
00:38216-474-0092.
00:40We'll give you away a team coming up here momentarily.
00:43And then Lyme and I will talk about the argument that we had right at the beginning of the show
00:46today,
00:47where all I was trying to do was see people's feelings.
00:51He wasn't having any of it.
00:52He was not having any of it.
00:54You got red-faced.
00:56You got angry.
00:57You became me.
00:59At one point, there was a role reversal.
01:02Oh, no.
01:03You just would not hear any of it.
01:05No one's going to play that coming up here momentarily,
01:07because we have a little snippet of it, according to Owen,
01:09and I'm sure it's going to be pretty nasty.
01:10However, I want to get to our winner of our contest here as soon as we possibly can.
01:16John is putting him in.
01:17Here we go.
01:18Mike in Macedonia, home of the Knights.
01:21Good morning, Mike.
01:23Good morning, sir.
01:24Mike, are you ready for your team?
01:26Yes, I am.
01:27Lyme.
01:28Take it away.
01:29Wait, wrong game.
01:30Lyme, go right on ahead.
01:31I'm reaching into the bowl.
01:32It feels like there's actually more teams in here than yesterday.
01:35Here we go.
01:36Oh, interesting.
01:36I will pull it out.
01:38And, ladies and gentlemen, number two is off the board, the New York Jets.
01:44Wow.
01:45Wow.
01:47Oh, well, but I'll take it.
01:48Oh, well.
01:49I'm waiting for that buffet.
01:51I got me to do well, but I'll take it.
01:55I think that's how the real general manager of the Jets accepted the job, actually, Mike.
01:59Well, congratulations to you.
02:01I'm going to put you on hold, and we're going to go ahead and get Mike's information right
02:05there on the line.
02:07And thank you guys very, very much for playing.
02:10We have more teams to give away throughout the day.
02:12Next Thursday.
02:13Next Thursday.
02:14Game on on Fabulous Lorraine Road and Fabulous North Olmstead.
02:18It's a good time for everybody involved.
02:20This was not such a good time earlier this morning.
02:22Five of the best six in a series.
02:24They might have six of the best seven.
02:25Get out of here with I'm Supposed to Be Afraid of the Hawks.
02:28By the way, all they do is win.
02:29They don't even try hard, and they win, and they win, and they win, and I'm Supposed
02:32to Be Afraid of the Atlanta Hawks.
02:34Amazing.
02:34I'm not telling you to be afraid.
02:36This town used to be a great sports town where we got behind our teams, and we got really
02:40excited about first season runs.
02:41We have the fourth best championship odds.
02:44You are insane.
02:45Is that not good enough, Cleveland fans?
02:46You have lost your mind.
02:47Is that not ready to get you excited about the postseason?
02:49I cannot believe how defensive you've become.
02:52You have lost your mind.
02:55My issue with it, though, is you haven't lost your voice.
02:57Like, I lost my voice yesterday yelling at you about Myles Garrett.
03:01That really upsets me.
03:03What are we yelling about when it comes to Myles Garrett?
03:05You made me that mad, but you got so...
03:07Because I said yesterday, I'm watching the game.
03:09I'm upstairs, lives with the neighbor, lady.
03:12You got to say lady now, thanks to the Mike Vrabel deal, which, by the way, you tired of
03:16that already?
03:18Guys, if you guys want to have fun with it, it's the internet.
03:20Go right on ahead.
03:22For radio show hosts out there, guys, it ain't that deep.
03:25I don't need your videos of you walking around for two and a half minutes in some parking lot
03:31discussing the trials and tribulations and what's right and what's wrong.
03:35We don't know who set this thing up.
03:37We don't know what's going on.
03:39Enough.
03:40We don't need to make it any deeper than what it is.
03:43I saw this morning, like, that Benjamin Allwright guy.
03:46I'm not going to mention anything.
03:48And then proceeds to write an entire chapter.
03:50Eight paragraphs, yeah.
03:51It's like, all right, guys, we got it.
03:52We got it.
03:53It's their lives.
03:55Let's not make it any deeper than what it needs to be.
03:57There's other questions to ask.
04:00Anyway, back to the Cavs.
04:02So I'm watching upstairs in the bedroom.
04:04Liz is with the neighbor lady downstairs, hanging out.
04:08And I happen to pull my phone out.
04:11And they're not winning, and people are losing their minds.
04:14And I'm getting a bunch of messages, Kenny, this team ain't ready.
04:17This team ain't ready.
04:18You and Lime are full of it, getting cussed out.
04:20Todd Munkin style.
04:21I mean, it was great.
04:23And all I said was like, hey, man, they don't trust this team.
04:26You just verbally kicked me in the teeth.
04:29You came right after me.
04:31And I have to accuse you of it.
04:34You did what I do.
04:37You got right into the corner by yourself.
04:41And you got red-faced and mad and full of bluster.
04:46And then you started calling out the fans.
04:48And I go, where have you been, man?
04:49The fans have been like this all year.
04:51We've been fighting this fight all year.
04:52And you accused me of having a straw, man.
04:54I'm like, no, I'm just going by what the reaction was.
04:56I was glad that the Cavs won.
04:58And I was going to tell you that I felt even better because clearly they weren't playing their best.
05:03And I don't even think they were trying to play their best.
05:05And they were turning themselves on and off any time they wanted against Atlanta.
05:09That's what I thought, too.
05:10Okay, so why were you bitching at me during the first 40 minutes of the show?
05:14Because I think it's time for the malaise that I totally understand that has been cultivated throughout the year.
05:21I think it should have gone away when they traded for Harden because that's a huge, huge move.
05:25If it didn't go away then, it ain't going away now.
05:27And you know why.
05:28And so now they're a different team.
05:29Fundamentally, they're a different team than they were last year.
05:32They just haven't had an opportunity to show it because they haven't been healthy.
05:35Guess what they were last night?
05:37Almost as healthy as they're going to be.
05:39They're getting Jalen Tyson back either on Friday or they're going to try to ramp them up.
05:43I know a short amount of time, but that's your other really good perimeter defender.
05:47You saw Dean Wade and what a difference he makes immediately.
05:51He was in the starting lineup last night and it was hard while he was in there because they had
05:56to manage his minutes.
05:57When he was in there, it was so much harder for an athletic team like the Hawks to score and
06:04to shake him.
06:05And it just made their defense so much more switchable and gave them that size that they've been missing because
06:11they've been trotting out all these small lineups.
06:13So all I would say is watching last night and seeing a unit that had only played 72 minutes so
06:21far this season.
06:22I saw that team last night and I'm like, bring on, absolutely bring on Atlanta.
06:29You wanted to say the Yankees.
06:30I was trying to think of what team I was trying to think.
06:32No, bring on the Hawks.
06:34And you know, look, the playoffs are not supposed to be easy.
06:36People keep saying, well, I know the playoffs aren't going to be easy.
06:39Yeah.
06:39They're never easy.
06:40They're supposed to be playoff teams.
06:41They weren't easy last year for Oklahoma City.
06:43They weren't easy for everybody.
06:44Unless you have LeBron in his prime, the playoffs are never easy.
06:48All I'm saying is, man, this has a chance to be a really great path for them.
06:53And finally, we are the healthy team that the whole regular season, it was about being healthy and getting situated
07:01in a position that you can make a run.
07:03Check and check.
07:04They don't trust him, though.
07:06And you have to recognize that when you talk to the fans.
07:08You say sure, but you yell at them.
07:10Detroit fans don't trust themselves.
07:11The Knicks fans.
07:12They don't.
07:12But they're in different places.
07:13The Knicks are in the same place as we are.
07:15So that's valid.
07:16And so is Detroit.
07:17Almost called the Lions.
07:19The Pistons are not.
07:20The Pistons are in their first foray.
07:22I think it probably feels a lot like we did.
07:25Young and plucky and fun.
07:26They'll get to our place eventually.
07:28The Knicks are in our place.
07:29Yeah, but they don't.
07:30By the way, I'm on a Detroit Reddit board.
07:31They do not want to see the Cavs.
07:32They do not think the Cavs match up well against them.
07:34They don't.
07:35They shouldn't want to see us.
07:36You guys are all looking at this from the lens of the Cavs.
07:38But you're also, if you're going to do that, you have to also pick apart the flaws of the other
07:44teams.
07:44You can't just pick apart the flaws of the Cavs and say that supersedes the other teams.
07:50Because their fans are picking apart their team's flaws.
07:53So, you've got to include all the flaws and then start to be a little more objective about things.
07:59It's why I feel good.
08:00It's why I feel a lot better.
08:01I wouldn't have felt that way if we weren't healthy, Kenny.
08:03I wouldn't have.
08:04And I do, believe it or not, I do feel better with James Harden in this situation than I would
08:10Darius Garland going into the playoffs.
08:11And also considering he's always kind of limping and all that stuff.
08:15James is fine right now.
08:17I know he dealt with the broken finger and all that.
08:19And he's trying to figure out how to play with it.
08:21And I think for the most part, he has had a bad night last night shooting.
08:24But he got to his spots.
08:25He got to the basket at will against Atlanta.
08:27Your bigs dominated inside.
08:29It's how they racked up so many fouls.
08:32And Atlanta had foul trouble with their best players.
08:33Why was that?
08:34Jared Allen and Evan Mobley.
08:36And Jared's not even 100%.
08:37You can clearly see it.
08:38And yet, both of those guys just dominated on the inside.
08:42And then Donovan Mitchell, whenever he felt like it, okay, I'm going to get to the basket.
08:46I was going to ask fans if they trust the Cavs.
08:48I think by and large they don't.
08:50I want to know if you're one of the people that are with Lima on this.
08:53Are you frustrated by Cavs fans that you talk to?
08:55Are you frustrated by people who call themselves Cavs fans?
08:58Because I'm not.
08:59I'm not.
09:00I disagree with them.
09:01I think that this is a really good basketball team.
09:03I trust James Harden.
09:05I trust Donovan Mitchell.
09:06So if I trust those two guys, I trust the Cavs.
09:09I have to.
09:10If I trust both them, then the two best players on your team, it's a good team, so you trust
09:14the team.
09:16If I trust them, then I'm saying that this is an Eastern Conference Finals team and we'll let it go
09:22where it goes.
09:23But I think people are still looking for their ways that they trust this team.
09:28And they saw this as the future postseason matchup.
09:31And you have a postseason matchup.
09:33And you know what?
09:34Let me pull it back a little bit.
09:35I'm sure Atlanta wasn't playing all their cards last night.
09:38And they won't play all their cards coming up tomorrow night.
09:43But you've got to see the history for what it is.
09:45It's not fair.
09:46Most labels are unfair.
09:48Tone, but they don't trust the team.
09:50They just don't because of the last few years.
09:53And when you bring in James Harden, guys, before we traded for James Harden, how much should we talk about
09:57James Harden?
09:59Chicken wings and strip clubs.
10:01That's the only time we – and being overweight.
10:02That's the only time we ever talked about James Harden around here.
10:05That's it.
10:06And also not wanting to watch him.
10:08Which, by the way, the guy sitting over there was always the one saying he didn't like watching James Harden.
10:13Which, by the way, a lot of people agreed.
10:14So if they agreed with you on that and we only talked about things that made him look bad and
10:19put him in a bad light,
10:20no, fans aren't going to be that excited.
10:21Yeah, but since you've seen him.
10:22Since you've seen him.
10:23Because I asked all the Cavs fans that a few days ago.
10:27Of course.
10:28And even the biggest James Harden haters are like, got to be honest, this version of him is pretty fun.
10:31Of course.
10:32Of course.
10:35But you're going to still have these labels carry forward.
10:39So I got a label on a team.
10:41None of this is fair, by the way.
10:43And I don't agree with these.
10:46People call the Cavs soft.
10:47You heard Justin Terman.
10:49He said it with us yesterday.
10:50He said soft.
10:51Did the bigs look soft to you yesterday?
10:52They did not.
10:53But that's how they're known, fair or not.
10:56And it's unfair.
10:58James Harden, known to shrink in big moments.
11:01Of course, he's had a thousand big moments and he's played well in about 997 of them.
11:07But because of the three big moments, people are going to say that he shrinks in the big moments.
11:12Fair or not, and usually they're not, those are all reasons that the fan base is down on him.
11:18I do think there's a little bit where the Browns come into it.
11:21I think there's a little bit where, I think we are, if you think we're in a malaise with the
11:26Cavs, I think we're in a big-ass malaise with the Browns.
11:28I don't think, if we're just being honest with each other, when you hear about Shador Sanders starting the season,
11:34you're not that excited.
11:35Most Browns fans aren't that excited.
11:37And when you hear about Deshaun Watson starting the season over Shador Sanders, you're really not excited to the point
11:43where some people are really, really mad over it.
11:45That's a malaise, friends.
11:47And that we're not going to be able to find the next quarterback for this football team until 2027.
11:52And then I'm over here saying, no, we want to wait until 2027.
11:55So that sucks, too, for them.
11:56So that's a malaise.
11:57Guardians are the Guardians.
11:58It's the beginning of the season.
11:59It's a long season.
12:00But I think that that does play into some of the malaise with the Cavs here.
12:04I do think that teams cross over with each other.
12:06And I think it's contributed to some of the bad feelings that I've read here over the last several weeks.
12:11And I think it's contributed to the fights that you and another radio show host on this station have had.
12:16And I just think you need to recognize that.
12:18That's all I'm trying to point out.
12:19And you bit my head off this morning over the entire thing.
12:22And I go, I don't know what to tell you, Tone.
12:24They're not excited about the team.
12:26I'm excited.
12:27You're excited.
12:27I know that someday this is going to end.
12:29And we are going to be an 18-win team at the end of the season.
12:31And we will not be talking Cavs.
12:33And we'll be talking about college basketball and all the things.
12:35Because I am fully ready to enjoy this moment and even next year's moment.
12:40As disappointing as it may be.
12:42But I'm just letting you know how the fans feel.
12:44I guess I'd just say, if you're not excited about this team, were they excited about the Guardians last year
12:47going into the playoffs?
12:48There were some that weren't.
12:49So we're just not excited about any teams anymore?
12:52You have to have either LeBron James on your team or the best championship odds.
12:56Then I guess you guys aren't going to be excited much.
12:58And this is where I disagree with you.
13:00When you have any success, it's human nature.
13:04And I think it's really American nature.
13:05We're built to want to win in this country.
13:08It is American.
13:10Our nature is Americans and as humans to want more.
13:12To want more success.
13:15It's capitalism.
13:17It's how we're wired.
13:19So it's not enough to get to the second round.
13:21It's not enough to get to the Eastern Conference Finals.
13:23It's not enough to get to the ALCS.
13:25Now you see the forest for the trees and so do I.
13:27But I'm just telling you how people feel.
13:29And someday, if the Browns ever get it turned around, which most of you are going to say fat chance,
13:34if they ever get it turned around, it's not going to be enough to just go to the wild card.
13:37Just like it's not enough for Bills fans.
13:39The Bills sucked out a lot for 17 years.
13:41Then they got Josh Allen.
13:43Just going to the second round of the division round playoffs is not enough for Bills fans.
13:47Go hear him on 550 up there.
13:48They're bitching everyone's ear off over it.
13:50Oh, were Bills fans not excited going into the playoffs last year?
13:53I don't know if they were.
13:53Especially with no Patrick Mahomes.
13:55No Patrick Mahomes.
13:55I think they were.
13:56No Lamar Jackson.
13:57No Joe Burrow.
13:57I think they were pretty excited.
13:58I think there was more pressure than there was excitement.
14:00Sure, but both can be true.
14:02I think they probably had both.
14:03All I'm saying is this is a pretty good spot that the Cavs are finding themselves in with the way
14:09it lays out.
14:09And now they're healthy.
14:10And that's all I've cared about all season.
14:12Be healthy come playoff time.
14:14Because I do have trust in Donovan Mitchell.
14:16And last night you saw a little window into what Donovan is in the playoffs.
14:21He's not a guy that just settles for threes like he does all year.
14:24That Donovan Mitchell, that version of him, that is not a team.
14:28The Atlanta Hawks are not a team that can stop Donovan Mitchell.
