00:00We're back to a stalemate and it's a standoff once again.
00:04Remember, this is in stark contrast to perhaps some of the optimism that was being priced into markets towards the
00:09end of the week last week.
00:10People thought maybe after the Trump-She summit, there could be some diplomatic progress.
00:15That doesn't appear to be the case.
00:16And once again, we're back to truth social threats.
00:20President Trump warning that the clock is ticking.
00:22Iran better get their act together to sign on to the peace deal.
00:25But then Iran, over the course of the weekend, many media news outlets have reported that they are unhappy with
00:33the terms that the U.S. has set out.
00:34They are calling them too maximalist and that the U.S. are not making enough concessions.
00:39So, you know, where we go from here, once again, could be the potential resumption of military hostilities, kinetic action.
00:48Or President Trump could choose to pursue the path of economic pressure via the ongoing effective blockade around the Strait
00:59of Hormuz with the view that at some point, you know, the Iranian economy will come under so much pressure
01:04that they may yield to some of the demands that the U.S. are putting forward.
01:07However, they have not shown any inclination yet of compromising.
01:11Whether that changes, of course, we have to see.
01:14But essentially, very little progress diplomatically.
01:16Well, it's interesting, Giovanna, that you mentioned that potential resumption of perhaps military action because authorities in Abu Dhabi saying
01:25that a drone attack sparked a fire at a nuclear plant on Sunday.
01:28What can you tell us about that?
01:30Significant developments in the last 24 hours.
01:32And people forget that, right?
01:34Technically, we've been in a state of ceasefire since April the 8th.
01:37But it has been a fragile ceasefire.
01:39And remember, a couple of weeks ago, Iran fired almost 20 projectiles over to the UAE that were intercepted.
01:45And at the time, General Keynes did not say that that had qualified a significant breach of the ceasefire, didn't
01:53qualify as them having to respond militarily.
01:58And then you fast forward to this weekend, yesterday, quite alarming that a drone attack did cause this fire incident
02:06at the nuclear power plant.
02:08Now, no radiological impact, no injuries.
02:12You know, all of that, thankfully, did not happen.
02:15But it is, again, an escalatory incident.
02:18And then we walked in this morning again to news that Saudi Arabia themselves had also intercepted three drones coming
02:23through from Iraq.
02:24And the thing here that I also want to emphasize is UAE did not say that it was a drone
02:30fired from Iran.
02:31They said that it came from the West.
02:33And so one of the questions people are asking is whether this has the potential to actually be amplified across
02:41the broader region in the sense that Iran's proxies are now beginning to act up, perhaps independently from Iranian leadership.
02:50And that's something that we need to keep an eye on in the coming days, because many of these drones
02:53are not coming from Iran per se, but from Iraq and other proxies in the region.
