00:02That's going to be me, on the moon.
00:07That's the machine.
00:09Do you see how big it is?
00:19This is unbelievable.
00:22Woohoo!
00:22Wait, I kind of have to pee.
00:24Is this, like, going to push the pee out of me?
00:30Today, I am going on the anti-gravity treadmill.
00:34This treadmill takes all of the weight off your legs,
00:37and it's going to feel like I'm running on the moon.
00:39Have a good day.
00:40There's no pressure on your joints.
00:41It's really good for your bones.
00:42My legs are uneven.
00:44My right leg is an inch shorter than my left.
00:46So, sometimes going on the treadmill,
00:48I'm, like, putting a lot of weight on that right side,
00:51and it starts to hurt my hips a little.
00:53The anti-gravity treadmill is supposed to help that.
00:54Hello.
00:55It's also supposed to help people who have been injured.
00:59I think I'm just going to feel like I'm soaring.
01:02Out of control, running on the moon, zero gravity,
01:06pure bliss.
01:07That's what I'm expecting.
01:09So, these are your little tutu shorts.
01:11We call them.
01:12They're what's going to airlock you in.
01:14Oh, that's tight.
01:15Yep.
01:15So, you've got to squeeze into them, do a little squat
01:17to get yourself in them.
01:17We want them nice and snug.
01:19There you go.
01:20Good job.
01:21You're going to step right into the treadmill.
01:23The Alter-G is basically a way to run with less gravity.
01:26Going in.
01:27You airlock yourself in, and the more air that you blow into the machine,
01:30the more that you're lifted up.
01:31Now, you're standing at 80% of your body weight,
01:32and I'm going to get the treadmill to move underneath you.
01:35Let me get you up to a six.
01:36How's that?
01:37Great.
01:38So, you can go ahead and decrease yourself to 70,
01:40and see how 70 feels.
01:41So, you just get picked up even more.
01:43I can go all the way down to 20%.
01:45That's where you can really increase your speed and get it flying.
01:47Crank it. Go up to 10.
01:51Hold up.
01:52I'm currently running at 20% of my body weight.
01:56I'm flying.
01:58I can barely feel the ground.
02:04And we're done.
02:06All right, let me explain what just happened.
02:10As more pressure was added to the machine,
02:12more weight was being taken off my body.
02:14At my lowest point there, I was running at only 20% of my body weight.
02:18I'm just running on the tips of my toes.
02:20That means that my legs were only supporting the weight of a toddler
02:23while my body was moving at the speed of an Olympian.
02:26This anti-gravity treadmill let me experience what it must really feel like to run on the moon.
02:30And it also took me back in time a little bit.
02:33I haven't run a 730 mile since sixth grade.
02:35I can totally see why so many professional athletes love to train on this machine
02:39because it really reduces the stress on your joints.
02:41You're going to feel all this air escape back out.
02:43I'm going to lower you down.
02:45I did not experience any of the pain that I normally feel after running on a treadmill.
02:50That was so cool.
