Wigmaker Jessica uses hair she cut off before starting chemo to make a wig for herself. Interesting fact: it takes hair from at least 3+ people to make 1 wig. So, Jessica is going to combine her hair with donations from friends and family to make her full wig. #shorts

00:00So this is the hair that we shaved off of my head at the beginning of chemo. When it was
00:05on my body,
00:06it was a little bit longer than this. You lose some length in that. I had bangs. Can't reuse that.
00:11This hair I'm going to use to make a wig. Piece by piece, hair by hair, I will tie that
00:16hair into
00:17a lace material. When I say I'm tying it, I'm literally taking one little section of lace.
00:25You are just tying a knot. And you repeat that over and over and over again.
00:34I had this grand idea that I was going to make it for myself during chemo, but to make a
00:40wig
00:40from scratch takes about 40 to 80 hours of work. All the spare time that I had, I needed to
00:45rest.
00:46So now my focus is more that I just want to keep that hair and not lose it.
