00:23some define themselves by success others by failure some by what people say and many by what

00:31they feel in the moment but truth is identity was never meant to be discovered within you it was

00:38meant to be received from above because the real question is not who am i the real question is who

00:46is lord over my life whatever or whomever sits on the throne defines the identity when god is truly god

00:56truly lord he doesn't just guide your life he defines it and that changes everything the lord

05:12thank you lord thank you jesus and amen all right so let me give you an introduction as usual first

05:20so we've just read our main verse so the bible reveals two powerful and inseparable truths god's lordship

05:31and i'm talking about in relevance to today's topic and our identity god's lordship and our identity

05:39first god's sovereignty god's lordship he is already lord over all creation whether acknowledged or not

05:49psalm 24 verse 1 in the new king james version declares the earth is the lord's and in all its

05:55fullness

05:55the world and those who dwell therein and isaiah 45 5 to 6 confirms i am the lord and there

06:03is no other

06:05god's lordship is not dependent on belief it is an internal reality second our response

06:14while god is lord overall we are called to make him lord over our lives

06:20romans 12 1 to 2 calls us to surrender fully luke 6 46 challenges us why do you call me

06:29lord lord and

06:30not do the things which i say this is where identity begins because identity in scripture is not self-created

06:40emotion driven performance-based it is god-given god-ordained when he becomes the lord of our lives

06:50we stop defining ourselves we stop striving to become and we begin receiving who we already are in him

07:00through the lives of david and paul which we'll discuss today we will see what happens when someone

07:06actually lives from their identity the following other topics we'll be discussing today number one

07:13god is lord overall the foundation of true identity number two surrendering to his lordship the turning

07:21point of identity number three who god says we are receiving our true identity number four identity in

07:29action david living from who god said number five transform identity paul from performance to purpose

07:38number six identity that carries authority living from heaven's position number seven declared identity

07:46speaking and living god's truth number eight summary and number nine declaration prayer amen and let's

07:54begin our study today number one i'm the one supposed to say number one number one god is lord overall

08:01the foundation of the foundation of true identity all right the bible establishes god's lordship overall

08:07as the bedrock of identity rooted in psalm 24 verse 1 isaiah 45 5 to 6 and philippians 2 verses

08:179 to 11

08:19let me read the isaiah 45 verses 5 to 6 in the amplified classic i am the lord and there

08:25is no one else

08:26there is no one no god besides me i will gird and arm you though you have not known me

08:34that men may

08:36know from the east and the rising of the sun and from the west and the setting of the sun

08:41that there is

08:42no god besides me i am the lord and no one else is he amen which is our main verse

08:47today so god's lordship

08:49stands firm regardless of human acceptance it is an objective truth not contingent on our

08:59acknowledgement he reigns as lord over every aspect of existence whether we recognize it or not

09:08this means he has authority over all creation he has authority over our lives he has the right to

09:16define truth including who we are and when we mean define truth is is not change his word but he

09:23can

09:23define the truth let me give you a life analogy so it makes more sense like an inventor who designs

09:32and

09:32defines the purpose of what he creates creation itself does not decide its function the creator

09:40does in the same way our identity is not something we invent through feelings or experiences it is

09:50something established by the one who formed us when we disconnect from the creator confusion and enters

09:58but when we return to him purpose and identity become clear amen and just so for those who are ministers

10:05out there that's why when we preach the word of god we don't uh not we don't preach from our

10:12experience

10:14only we preach the word of god for who the word of god is so if you have an experience

10:19it doesn't mean

10:20you can't preach it you preach it because it's not about you it's about what god has said right just

10:25an

10:25encouragement amen number two surrendering to his lordship the turning point of identity so god's lordship

10:33is a biblical fact like we said but choosing to make him lord of our lives is a conscious act

10:41of

10:41surrender a pivotal turning point of authentic authentic identity right so proverbs chapter 3 verse 5 to 6

10:51from the nkgv says this trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding

10:58in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path romans 12 1 to 2 from the nkgv

11:08say this

11:09i beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of god that you present your bodies a living sacrifice

11:16holy acceptable to god which is your reasonable service and do not be conformed to this world but be

11:24transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and

11:31perfect will of god another verse luke 6 of um 46 says this jesus challenges um sorry excuse me uh

11:42jesus

11:43challenges the people and when he says this why do you call me lord lord and do not do what

11:48i say

11:49galatians 2 20 says this i have been crucified with christ and i no longer live but christ lives in

11:56me

11:57a profound yielding of self to his authority so god being lord of our lives calls for continual active

12:07decision to surrender i said continual because it's an everyday thing aligning our will with his eternal reign

12:16this is where identity shifts from independent to surrendered self-defined to god defined when we

12:24surrender to god we belong to him romans 14 8 our lives are no longer our own 1 corinthians 6

12:3119 to 20.

12:32right so let me give you a life analogy like handing over the steering wheel to a trusted driver surrender

12:41doesn't always change the road immediately but it changes who is in control even when the path look

12:48unfamiliar peace comes from knowing the one leading sees the destination clearly true direction begins

12:56not when we understand everything but when we trust the one who does amen number three who says sorry

13:07who god says we are receiving our true identity all right so when god reigns as lord over our lives

13:15he

13:15defines our identity through his word transforming how we see ourselves some of the scriptural declarations

13:24so the two things about us from god's point of view are john 1 verse 12 in the new king

13:29james version

13:30says but as many as received him to them he gave the right to become children of god to those

13:36who

13:36believe in his name we are his beloved children amen 2 corinthians 5 17 therefore if anyone is in

13:43christ he is a new creation all things have passed away behold all things have become new so we are

13:50new

13:50new creations 1 peter 2 verse 9 new king james but you are a chosen generation a royal priesthood a

13:58holy nation

13:59his own special people that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his

14:06marvelous light so we are chosen and set apart ephesians 2 verse 10 for we are his workmanship created in

14:15christ jesus for good works which god prepared beforehand that we should walk in them we are god's

14:22workmanship in other words his masterpiece zachariah 2 verse 8 for thus says the lord of hosts he sent me

14:31after glory to the nations which plunder you for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye

14:37so we are deeply valued and protected these truths mean we belong as his children wanted as the chosen

14:48our past does not define us anymore because we are a new creation we have a divine purpose as his

14:56workmanship and we are preciously valued as the apple of his eye our identity is not earned it is declared

15:05amen amen so let me give you a life analogy so like being given a family name at birth you

15:12don't earn

15:13your place you are born into it your identity is not based on performance but on belonging in the same

15:20way when we are born again we receive a new identity in god's family not because of what we have

15:26done but

15:27because of what he has done amen amen number four identity in action david living from who god said

15:37now all of us knows the story of david right so david's story illustrate living from god given identity

15:46chosen asking while a mere shepherd in 1 samuel 16 7 and 12 to 13 he faced goliath also boldly

15:55in god's name

15:551 samuel 17 45 to 47 he trusts trusted the lord as his rock psalms 18 verse 2

16:06david was anointed king before human recognition which mean even as a shepherd he was anointed king even

16:15before anybody knew he would be king god then itself called him king against goliath he declared resilient

16:23on the lord not armor or status not because of his status he came and said oh you know the

16:29lord is with

16:30me not because he had a full armor on him did he come and say oh the lord is with

16:34me but he trusts on

16:35the lord he trusts in the identity right that was placed there when he faced goliath he didn't speak

16:42from fear he spoke from identity 1 samuel 17 45 from the ampc said this

16:48then said david to the philistine you come to me with a sword a spear and a javelin but i

16:54come to you

16:55in the name of the lord of hosts the god of the ranks of israel whom you have defied

17:02david saw himself as chosen acted from god's authority trusted god as lord of his life

17:12you have to if you want to go against goliath right he didn't wait for a position he lived

17:18from identity before he even got into position let me give you a life analogy like an athlete

17:27who already sees himself as a champion long before holding a trophy his identity shapes his preparation

17:36mindset and response under pressure david didn't wait for public recognition to believe

17:42who he was he lived from god's calling even when no one else saw it and that is what prepared

17:50him

17:50for victory amen number five transformed identity paul from performance to purpose okay so let's look at

18:00paul's life paul's life is the ultimate example of how a person's entire sense of self can be

18:07rewritten he moved from a life of doing to a life of being in christ jesus before his change paul

18:16known as soul was defined by his resume according to his own words in philippians 3 he was at the

18:22top

18:23of his field highly educated deeply religious and incredibly disciplined he was so convinced he was

18:30right that he actively hunted down early christians everything changed during a journey to damascus acts

18:37acts 9 a sudden divine encounter with jesus knocked paul off his path literally and figuratively from then

18:45on he stopped being the one in control and surrendered to a new calling as a chosen messenger paul's story

18:52shows that true change doesn't come from self-built identity it comes from accepting a new identity

19:00based on grace rather than performance god said to ananias acts 9 verse 15 in the amplified classic

19:07but the lord said to him go for this man is a chosen instrument of mine to bear my name

19:14before the

19:14gentiles and kings and the descendants of israel so paul's identity shifted from self-made to god

19:22called from performance to grace from control to surrender even when he faced hardship paul didn't

19:32live by circumstances he lived by identity let me give you a life analogy like someone adopted into a new

19:39family everything changes even if outwardly nothing looks

19:46even though outwardly everything looks different the name the inheritance the belonging all shift

19:56instantly paul didn't gradually earn a new identity he received it through encounter

20:02and from that moment forward he lived from who god said he was amen amen okay number six identity that

20:11carries authority living from heaven's position now our identity is not just a label it is our legal

20:20standing god is lord of our lives and we are given authority as representatives of his kingdom

20:28luke chapter 10 verse 19 from the voice translation says this i've given you true auto authority you can

20:35smash vipers and scorpions under your feet you can walk all over the power of the enemy you can't be

20:43harmed how cool is that right just as an official carries authority like a badge right because of the

20:51government they represent we carry spiritual weight because we represent christ we have the right to

20:59say no to the thing that try to steal our peace or purpose our identity provide us with a seat

21:07of

21:08influence ephesians chapter 2 verse 6 from the ampc says this and he raised us up together with him and

21:16made us sit down together giving us joint seating with him in the heavenly sphere by virtue of

21:23our being in christ jesus the messiah the anointed one instead of looking at our problems as if they are

21:31giants we are positioned to look down at them from a place of victory our perspective

21:40we are not fighting to reach victory we are living from the victory that has already been

21:46established it's like looking down at your problem and telling your problem now and you're not bigger

21:51than me christ is in is in me the hope of glory i say no to it because he he

21:57is the one who is backing

21:59me up right so god provides a specific set of tools to help us exercise this authority in our daily

22:07lives

22:082 corinthians chapter 10 verse 4 to 5 and ephesians chapter 6 13 to 17

22:16let me read the 2 corinthians chapter 10 verse 4 to 5 from the voice translation

22:20the weapons of the war we are fighting are not of this world but are powered by god and effective

22:27at tearing down the strongholds erected against his truth so that is a key whatever you're rebuking

22:36make sure that you know the truth of god we are demolishing arguments and ideas every high-end

22:42philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true god we are taking prisoners of every

22:50every thought every emotion and subduing them into obedience to the anointed one amen so i'll give you

22:58a life analogy like an ambassador representing a nation authority does not come from the individual

23:05but from the one who sends them when they speak they speak on behalf of a greater kingdom in the

23:11same way

23:12our authority is not rooted in personal strengths but in our identity in christ and the kingdom we represent

23:18amen amen number seven declared identity speaking and living god's truth

23:25all right so since we are citizens of heaven remember we are made in god's image so we are spirit

23:30beings not human beings we are spirit beings with a body and a soul since we are citizens of heaven

23:35heavenly missionaries our words should reflect our true home this doesn't mean sounding out of touch

23:42but rather letting god's truth and light become our natural way of speaking allowing his perspective to

23:49define the world we live in some examples of scripture based truths are deuteronomy 28 verse 13

23:58we are the head and not the tail romans 8 verse 37 we are more than conquerors

24:06john 8 verse 36 we are free indeed ephesians 1 verse 3 we are blessed matthew 5 verse 14 we

24:18are the light of

24:18the world amongst others these are not motivational statements they are biblical identity truths

24:28what god says about us is greater than what we feel what others say what circumstances suggest

24:37let me give you a life analogy like looking into a mirror you don't argue with what you see right

24:43you align with it when god's word you may wish it to look different but it is what it is

24:51when god's word reveals who we are our role is not to debate it based on feelings or circumstances

25:00but to agree with it transformation begins when we stop questioning the truth and start declaring it

25:09hence the reason why we're releasing a declaration book very very soon

25:14it's right at the end we're almost there all right eight summary so god is already lord over all

25:23creations whether acknowledged or not but true transformation begins when we personally surrender

25:30and make him lord of our lives from that place of surrender identity is no longer something we strive to

25:37build

25:38it becomes some things we receive from him through his word god defines who we are chosen new

25:47loved and created with purpose david shows us what it looks like to live confidently from that identity

25:53while paul reveals how radically a life can be transformed when identity is rooted in grace

26:00instead of performance this identity is not passive it carries authority positioning us to live from

26:07victory not for it as we align our words with god's truth we begin to walk in the fullness of

26:13who he

26:14says we are true identity is not a batch of achievement earned through human striving or performance but

26:22rather a gift of grace received through submission to the lordship of jesus christ amen amen and we're

26:31going to do number nine declaration prayer okay so as usual this is a declaration press so we are going

26:36to be declaring living word of god in a prayer format so we encourage you to just listen receive and

26:44then

26:44as you agree with it later on you can come back and and repeat after it or just receive again

26:49it's a blessing prayer it's a declaration prayer amen yep of all the things that we just spoke um

26:54now okay yeah so thank you lord for the truth for your living word for your authority and the identity

27:02you have given us in christ jesus we decree and declare psalm 24 verse 1 the lord is lord over

27:09all and we belong to him we decree and declare romans 12 1 to 2 we surrender our lives fully

27:16and make him

27:16lord of our lives we decree and declare john 1 verse 12 we are children of god born of him

27:23and belonging to

27:25him we decree and declare 2 corinthians 5 17 we are new creations the all has passed away we decree

27:32and

27:32declare 1 peter 2 verse 9 we are chosen a royal priesthood and god's own possession we decree and

27:40declare ephesians 2 10 we are god's workmanship created with purpose we decree and declare zechariah

27:472 2 verse 8 we are the apple of god's eye protected and valued we decree and declare deuteromy 28

27:55verse 13

27:56we are the head and not the tail above only and not beneath we decree and declare romans 8 37

28:02we are

28:03more than conquerors through christ jesus we decree and declare ephesians 2 6 we are seated with christ

28:09jesus in heavenly places we decree and declare luke 10 verse 19 we walk in the authority given to us

28:16in christ jesus we decree and declare john 8 36 we are free because the sun has set us free

28:23we decree

28:24and declare matthew 5 verse 14 we are the light of the world shining god's truth we decree and declare

28:31philippians 4 13 we can do all things through christ jesus who strengthen us we decree and declare 2

28:37corinthians 5 verse 7 we walk by faith and not by sight we thank you father in jesus name that

28:44our identity

28:45is secure defined by you and established in christ jesus we declare that we are who you say we are

28:53and we will walk in that truth all the days of our lives in the mighty name of jesus we

28:58pray amen amen

29:00and amen hallelujah now if you are new here and you have not made jesus your lord and savior this

29:07is

29:08the time you don't know how much time you have left over you know let me give you a bible

29:14verse

29:14here which is very very good it's it's in 1 john 5 verses 4 to 5 he says for whatever

29:22is born of god

29:23overcomes the world how many of us want to overcome the world the world is a mess it's been a

29:28mess for a

29:29long time but it's getting messier isn't it and this is the victory that has overcome the world what

29:33our faith now everybody puts their faith in something whether you say you're a believer

29:39whether you say you're a green that's okay not everybody will get saved okay

29:46the greens tend to be the west parties everywhere all over the world these people need deliverance bad

29:53anyways um

29:58our faith and if you're a green you need to change that change to red change to blue there's better

30:05colors than that anyways um where are you putting your faith in a guru in money in a party a

30:13political

30:13party in yourself everybody puts their faith in something so the word of god goes on to say who is

30:21he then who overcomes the world and listen to this because this is the important part but he who

30:26believes that jesus is the son of god not he who believes that m is the son of god or

30:37b is the son of

30:39god now i don't care how many alphabets you come up with there's only one way one truth and one

30:43life

30:44and that is through jesus christ and jesus christ is not man-made he's not some figure that you can

30:49put

30:50on a pedestal he's real he's alive he's alive tell me which other god is alive there is no other

30:58god

30:58but jesus christ that's why they manifest demons so much when we speak about him because they can't

31:04handle him he has overcome the world and guess what he has a free gift to give you so listen

31:13up

31:14what do you have to do well it starts with one john one nine but before i get on to

31:21that i want to

31:22tell you something else which is very important because there's a misconception a misunderstanding

31:27a misrepresentation of what christianity means of of who jesus is of who the christian god is and i

31:33want you to understand this clearly john 3 16 to 17 says for god so loved the world that he

31:39gave his

31:39only begotten son talking about jesus christ that whoever believes in him should not perish but have

31:45everlasting life eternal life in other words for god did not send his son into the world to condemn

31:51the world he's not here to condemn us but that the world through him might be saved that might part

31:59is

31:59your choice that's why it says might because if you choose not to accept his free gift what he did

32:07on

32:07that cross as a gift of salvation for you then you're not going to be saved it's black and white

32:14there's no my truth your truth now that's called opinion no matter how many times you redefine it

32:19throughout history that's an opinion that's not the truth one john one nine tells us very clearly if we

32:25confess our sins and sins in the most simplistic definition is when we try to live our lives without

32:31god we try to redefine things we try to you can try all you like till the cows come home

32:37guess what they're not

32:37going to come home not the way they're

32:44them right now they probably don't even know where they're going so if we confess our sins he's faithful

32:51and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness he's faithful he will do it

32:57because he doesn't want anybody to perish the bible tells us that so as you can see on the screen

33:02romans

33:0310 verses 9 to 10 is very clear on what you need to do right now get on your knees

33:08cry out to god

33:10it's important and if you mean it from the bottom of your heart if you have an intention the right

33:14intention and you cry out to jesus that you don't have to repeat after me whatever i say some generic

33:21prayer no it has to come from an intention from the right intention from your heart and god will listen

33:27and god will save you where is that george well romans 10 9 to 10 tells us that if you

33:32confess with

33:32your mouth the lord jesus just like you can hear my audible voice right now and believe in your heart

33:37that god has raised him from the dead you will be saved for with a heart man believeth unto righteousness

33:45and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation it's as simple as that and then as you can see

33:51there's

33:51other bible verses there and that's got to do with something else that's very very important titus 3

33:57verse 5 ephesians 2 verse 8 act 1 verse 8 amongst others says okay then you get saved as soon

34:02as declare

34:03that you cry out to jesus from your heart it can sound like something like i can't remember the exact

34:11words i use but it was something along the lines of i've had enough jesus i need you please i

34:18make you

34:18my lord and savior from this day forward please take control of my life thank you for dying for me

34:23on that cross and thank you for coming back to life and defeating the enemy and now use my life

34:29for your

34:30glory it's as simple as that and god will take you back but then it doesn't finish there it says

34:36here

34:37then you're saved by grace through faith grace the grace of god the grace the grace of what he did

34:42on that

34:43cross faith you putting faith in what he did the gift of god he washes away our sins and gives

34:50us the

34:50new joy of the indwelling holy spirit wow and you will receive power when your holy spirit comes upon you

34:56and you will be my witnesses telling people about me everywhere not about me about jesus it's not about george

35:02it's about jesus you may have the same j but it's jesus jesus yeshua

35:12amen so if you haven't done that yet do that right now and we are going to pray with you

35:18so after you

35:19do that you make jesus your lord and savior you will truly believe in your heart that god raised him

35:48soul for every single brother every single sister that have cried out to you now that have given their

35:52life to you but we know there is more we know that we need the joy of your indwelling holy

36:00send fire your word says that our god is a consuming fire let your fire of revival set us a

40:57freedom that christ set us free therefore we will keep standing firm and not be subject again to a yoke

41:03of slavery galatians 5 22 we will live in the spirit and we will follow you grow produce everlasting fruit

41:10love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control philippians 3 14 16 we

41:18will run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory

41:24price through the anointing of jesus as we fully mature may we all have this same passion and if
