09:14give you some context so we've got a study we've got a study on the potter and the clay why

09:22god shapes

09:22every life differently so throughout scripture one of the main or one of the most beautiful pictures god

09:30gives us is that of the potter and the clay a master potter never begins with a finished masterpiece right

09:38he begins with an ordinary lump of clay to the untrained eye every lump looks the same but the

09:44potter already sees something nobody else can see he sees the finished vessel every press of his hands

09:51every turn of the wheel every moment of waiting every time the clay is reshaped and even

09:58every trip through the fire is moving that vessel closer to its intended purpose the clay may not

10:07understand the process but the potter never loses sight of the purpose the same is true in our lives

10:13many of us compare ourselves with other people we compare ministries we compare families we compare careers

10:19we can compare compare compare compare compare spouses finances spiritual gifts calling and sometimes even

10:28compare god's timing yet god has never promised to make identical vessels he has promised to complete the

10:37work he began in each of us today we'll discover that god's shaping is never random it is intentional it

10:45is

10:45loving it is wise and even when life seems confusing and yes we are living in a fallen world so

10:51a lot of

10:53the times it feels like it's forever the potter is still in complete control we can take hope in that

11:00the following other topics we'll be discussing today number one every vessel has a different purpose

11:06number two the potter already sees the finished you number three different assignments equal worth

11:28right let's get on to it number one every vessel has a different purpose all right so in today's digital

11:35age online frenzy has created a culture where comparison is widespread even to the point of giving

11:43others undue authority over our lives as we spoke earlier when we were praying for certain people

11:49when we understand whom we belong to we can come to their realization that we belong to the potter

11:56our lord our king not just any potter but the potter that does not treat every lump of clay the

12:04same

12:05he is a skilled potter shaping each piece according to its intended purpose some become fine display

12:14vases everyday bowls others storage jars others small cups the potter may also rework the clay that

12:23collapses remove impurities continue shaping until the vessel fulfills its intended purpose even clay that

12:32must be reshaped remains valuable in the potter's hand the difference is not that one vessel is more valuable than

12:41another but that each has a different assignment and purpose so jeremiah 18 verse 4 in the amplified classic

12:49and the vessel that he was making from clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter so he made

12:56it over

12:56reworking it into another vessel as it seemed good to the potter to make it although jeremiah first spoke

13:04this message to the house of israel the biblical picture of god as the potter also teaches timeless

13:11principles about his character and his work in the lives of his people okay let me give you a life

13:19analogy uh an example for our lives a practical example so we're talking about every vessel has a different

13:26purpose a builder does not use every tool for the same job right a hammer a level a measuring tape

13:33are all

13:34valuable but each serves a different purpose their value is equal even though their functions are different

13:43likewise god assigns different purposes to his people without diminishing their worth amen all right number

13:53two the potter already sees the finished you you may say sabrina my neighbor has a better life than me

14:00my christian brother is better off than i am and i'm doing everything they are doing on top of that

14:08see we as clay often focus on yesterday's regret and today's pressure but when we understand the

14:16character of the potter we can trust that he is faithful to complete the good work he started

14:22what he began he will complete we must understand this truth the potter already sees tomorrow's finished

14:29vessel although the clay cannot understand the pressing the stretching the fire every movement serves

14:37the final design as i am 64 verse 8 from the ampc says this yet oh lord you are our

14:46father we are the

14:47clay and you are you are potter and we all are the work of your hand i'll give you a

14:57life analogy on that

14:58the we are talking about the potter we are talking about the potter already sees the finish

15:03an architect studies a completed blueprint long before the foundation is laid workers may only see bricks and

15:12concrete but the architect already sees the finished building god likewise sees the completed work he is producing in us

15:23amen amen number three different assignments equal worth all right what works for others may not work

15:32the same for us this is not a cookie cutter process but a relationship in which the potter shapes each

15:40piece of

15:41clay with its clay with its own identity so every vessel has worth a cup a bowl a storage jar

15:49each serving a different

15:50purpose god gives different gifts responsibilities and callings while loving each of his children equally

16:00so why why do many of us still feel frustrated when we look at others it is often because we

16:08measure

16:08people's worth through a cookie cutter mindset when we hear testimonies we may hear the joy louder than the

16:16pain they endured while others hear the pain louder than the hope that came from it instead of understanding

16:24and celebrating who god the potter created us to be we often do the opposite one drawback of this mindset

16:32is

16:32that we miss wisdom and fail to discern the hope set before us simply because we judge others by what

16:41we

16:41cannot see in their lives the potter's wisdom is revealed through diversity of function let me say that

16:49again the potter's wisdom is revealed through diversity of function 2 timothy 2 verses 20 to 21 and i'm reading

16:59from the new king james version says but in a great house that there are not only vessels vessels of

17:06gold and

17:07silver but also of wood and clay some for honor and some for dishonor therefore if anyone cleanses himself

17:15from the latter he will be a vessel for honor sanctified and useful for the master prepared for every good

17:23work amen amen all right so we're talking about different assignments equal worth so let me give you a life

17:31analogy here within the human body the eye the hand the heart the feet all perform different functions

17:38right yes none can replace another yet part every part is essential for the body to function properly

17:46god's kingdom also functions through many different functions and callings through many different functions

17:55and callings amen amen amen all right number four waiting is part of god's design oh no we all don't

18:03like

18:04hearing that but it's a truth it's a fact right what about those who are waiting you may say or

18:09those who feel

18:09as though they have been set aside like discarded vessels how many like to wait put your hands up

18:17no no i'll bet you anything there's a few of you that went and then you're like god saw you

18:30nevertheless none of us like to wait and and when the waiting comes we do feel like the scouted vessels

18:36most of the time you know if we observe that's a good thing about about the pot on the clay

18:42if we observe

18:42a potter's workshop like jeremiah did we will find both finished and unfinished vessels in the in the

18:50workshop some are ready for you some are waiting some are stored and others are reserved for special

18:58occasions the position of a of a vessel does not determine its value it reflects the timing and purpose

19:06of the potter i'll say that again the position of a vessel so the one who's waiting

19:12the one who's uh far waiting closer waiting in line does not determine its value it reflects the timing

19:20and purpose of the potter so how do we understand the potter's timing for our lives well through trust

19:28trust that he will direct our path according to his perfect timing because timings belongs to the lord

19:34isaiah 45 verse 9 from the ampc says this war to him who strives with his maker a worthless piece

19:43of

19:44broken pottery among other pieces equally worthless and yet presuming to strive with his maker shall the

19:53clay say to him who fashions it what do you think you are making or your work has no handles

20:01so we can't

20:03tell the timing but god is sovereign he knows his timing another verse is habakkuk 2 verse 3 from the

20:10ampc says

20:11this for the vision is yet for an appointed time and it harsen to the end fulfillment it will not

20:18deceive

20:19or disappoint though it tarry wait earnestly for it because it will surely come it will not be behind

20:29hand on its appointed day amen so we're talking about um waiting is part of god's design let me give

20:38you a

20:39life analogy for it a graduation gown may remain hanging in a wardrobe for months before graduation day right

20:48it is not forgotten it is waiting for the appointed occasion likewise god prepares his people for his

20:56appointed time amen amen number five the fire produces strength

21:03all right so god has a process through which he draws us closer to him and shapes us into the

21:10likeness of his

21:11son jesus the christ although the process can feel uncomfortable painful or even overwhelming at times

21:18it is not meant to harm us but to strengthen us it prepares us to walk in hope and to

21:24live out

21:25all that he has written for us in the book of life the clay is shaped on the wheel it

21:32is separated from the

21:33rest of the clay it dries and then it is placed into the fire only after the firing does it

21:42become strong

21:43and durable vessel every stage is necessary job 33 verse 6 in the amplified classic says behold i am toward

21:54god and before him even as you are i also am formed out of the clay though i speak without

22:02normal wisdom

22:03because of a divine illumination okay so we're talking about the fire produces strength so let

22:10me give you a life analogy here still still we know the metal still is strengthened through intense heat

22:18before it becomes capable of carrying great weight without the refining process it remains weak

22:25god also uses seasons of refinement to strengthen his people amen amen okay number six god's masterpiece

22:35versus satan's counterfeit now god alone is a creator he forms with wisdom purpose and an internal plan eternal

22:46and an eternal plan yeah satan is not a creator he can only attempt to influence or distort what god

22:56has

22:56created when given the opportunity god builds life on a secure foundation that endures

23:04the enemy however offers only an imitation of strengths a temporary appearance that eventually

23:11reveals its weakness because it lacks the true foundation established by god when there is a crack in a

23:20vessel the enemy may offer a quick fix that looks good on the surface it may seem faster and more

23:27appealing

23:27but it does not last often the repair is mismatched creating more cracks in other places and let me say

23:37this is something that we've seen in many peoples like we've done a lot of counseling we've seen in our

23:42lives and even before i return back to the lord i've seen in the lives of many who went to

23:48clairvoyant and all those places

23:51so it's not just word right so this leaves a person caught in a cycle of false security that's why

23:58those

23:58who goes to clairvoyant every what fortnight you will keep going to get your next fix because there's a

24:04false security for as an example focusing on what looks like fix now rather than what is truly restored

24:12for the long term even for those who does tarot reading you can't live without it there is no

24:18foundation there now john chapter 10 verse 10 from the ampc says this the thief comes only in order to

24:26steal and kill and destroy i came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance to

24:34the full

24:35till it overflows right you have to understand that it's it's it's how the enemy work i'll give you a

24:46quick

24:46testimony um before i even um not before just when i came gave my life to christ at 16 i

24:53remember once i was

24:54going home from where i was and i was walking home and i was stopped on the road by a

25:01guy i didn't know

25:03and he stopped me and the first thing he said to me was this i know what is your biggest

25:08desire i know

25:09what is troubling you if you come and you be my apprentice i will give it to you now imagine

25:17i was

25:1816 by then around 16 and i didn't have much of a good foundation in the world i just gave

25:23my life to christ

25:24and you know things like that and i and i looked at him and i thought about it if i

25:30had gone with that

25:31guy it would have been like that that pottery where the the there is a quick fix of fixing what

25:38was

25:38an issue in my life right which i know i knew even then there was an issue in my life

25:44to having opened another crack somewhere how do you know sabrina because when i backslid and i went

25:50back to those kind of things again and i was doing tarot reading now not just going and getting tarot

25:56reading i was doing tarot reading for others right i saw that over and over and over the

26:04dependency over the enemy is not a dependency of peace but it's a dependency that drains life out of

26:12you that's why the bible says come to kill the steel still what still your peace still your joy

26:17it's still your future whereas i always look like people says a dead man walking right that's how it

26:25feels because you feel empty without but i knew god and then i left god and then i came back

26:29and i tell

26:30you i ain't going back again i know there is no other and he's only god so this is what

26:35it is like the

26:36counterfeit of the enemy do not be fool or deceive just because you want a quick fix because you will

26:43surely crash right all right god's workmanship is eternal the enemy's work work is temporary the clay

26:52never directs the potter it's one of the things we need to remember the potter lovingly directs the

26:58clay our responsibility is not to understand every stage of the process but to remain yield to the

27:05master's hand trusting that he is shaping us according to his perfect purpose for his glory and in his

27:12perfect timing so we are talking about god's masterpiece versus satan's counterfeit i'll give

27:19you a life analogy a solid stone house and a movie set may look similar from a distance one is

27:27built to

27:27withstand storms the other is only a facade when pressure comes the difference is revealed

27:35likewise god's work produces lasting transformation i'm here i'm one of them

27:42while counterfeit foundations cannot undo the test of life amen number seven summary okay so let's give

27:51you let's give us all a summary of what we've covered today amen amen okay so the message of the

27:58potter

27:58and the clay reveals god as the sovereign creator who shapes each life with intentional purpose

28:06we are the clay in his hand and he forms us according to his wisdom not comparison or favoritism

28:13every season where the pressure waiting or refinement is part of his design to produce a vessel fit for his

28:21purpose just as a potter works differently with each piece of clay god develops different gifts calling

28:28and timing in each life waiting does not mean rejection and difficulty does not mean abandonment

28:36instead god is continually shaping strengthening and preparing us for his intended use when we remain

28:45surrendered we trust that his process is producing something eternal and meaningful in us amen amen all

28:54right so we're going to be doing a declaration prayer uh so in this declaration prayer we have all the

29:01bible

29:01verses supporting evidence that we used in this study we'll be declaring it over our lives so you can just

29:07receive as a gift if you want to listen first that's great that's wise listen and then if you agree

29:12with it

29:13you can go back and receive it or you can go back and repeat it's up to you amen amen

29:18all right so let's

29:19begin with our declaration prayer amen psalm 34 verse 1 we thank you god and we praise you lord for

29:28your

29:28faithfulness in our life we declare that our hearts are fixed on you father and our mouth will continue

29:35declare your goodness you are the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end and we declare that you

29:41alone our god and that there is none beside you jeremiah 18 verse 4 we thank you lord that we

29:48are

29:48in the hands of the potter and we declare that we are being reshaped according to your perfect will

29:54we will not resist you your forming process but we surrender to your purpose for our lives

30:01Isaiah 64 verse 8 we thank you father that we are the clay and you are our potter we declare

30:07that we are

30:08for the works of your hands and our lives are not without meaning or design 2 timothy 2 verse 21

30:17we

30:17thank you lord that you are preparing us as vessels unto honor we declare that we are being sanctified made

30:24useful and positioned for every good work you have prepared for us habakkuk 2 verse 3 we thank you father

30:32that your timing for our lives is perfect we declare that we will wait for your appointed time and what

30:40you have spoken will surely come to pass john 10 verse 10 we thank you lord jesus that you give

30:47us life

30:48and life more abundantly we declare that every counterfeit work is broken and we walk in the fullness of your

30:55truth and victory we declare all these declaration prayers in the mighty name of jesus for yours is the kingdom

31:01the power and the glory forever and ever amen and amen glory to god hallelujah hallelujah as usual we

31:09recommend you go back listen to it again take notes and study the word of god it's very important that

31:15you study it for yourself as well so you can you know you can be like a soul that is

31:21receiving good

31:22water right and have your fruit grows as well when you listen to the word of god amen now if

31:391 john 5 verses 4 to 5 tells us for whatever is born of god overcomes the world and this

31:45that has overcome the world our faith now everybody puts their faith in something maybe you're putting

31:50faith in gurus in money in music in your yourself whatever it is everybody puts their faith in

32:00something or someone but the bible tells us very clearly what god goes on to say who is he then

32:06whoever comes to the world why do we need to overcome the world well all of us have issues right

32:11in life

32:11whether it's relationship issues money problems health issues whatever it may be work issues we all

32:19want to be able to overcome to to to be ruling over this world rather than be ruled by the

32:24world and

32:25by the circumstances and the environment we're in right that is possible as the word of god says who

32:31is he then who overcomes the world but he who believes that jesus is the son of god if you

32:38believe in

32:38jesus as the lord and as your lord and savior you will overcome it doesn't mean you won't face issues

32:44it

32:45means you're you will overcome because god will give you the victory which he conquered on that cross

32:51on the cross of calvary he conquered the curse of sin sickness disease poverty and death as the bible

32:57tells us and when we put our faith in his finished work which is a gift of grace that he

33:03gives us

33:03salvation eternal salvation when we put our faith in that we put faith in jesus the son of god we

33:11become victorious in life which means we can face life victoriously knowing that we are victorious

33:18over it that we'll we will overcome the circumstance doesn't matter if you're in it for two years three

33:22years four years doesn't matter but we've already overcome because of jesus amen they're living from

33:28victory rather than trying to attain victory so john 3 16 we've all heard it but what about john 3

33:3616 to 17

33:37listen to this for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son talking about jesus christ

33:41here that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life see god did not send his

33:48son here to come down here and crush us as the word of god goes on to say in john

33:533 17 for god did not

33:57send his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be condemned might

34:03be

34:03saved not condemned because i was thinking about what i was going to about to say right now which is

34:09he came and he was condemned in our place that's true think about it he took sin upon him he

34:17took all

34:17the sin of the world past present and future upon himself even though he lived a righteous life he was

34:23condemned in our place and he died and three days he rose arose from the dead and he conquered the

34:30curse of

34:31sin sickness disease poverty and death in our place so what do we have to do george very good

34:37question 1 john 1 verse 9 amongst others says if we confess our sins which is talking about repentance

34:44and repentance means making a decision to turn away from that lifestyle from those wicked things that we

34:51are doing if we confess our sins and sins sin in its simplest the most simplistic definition of sin is

34:58when we try to live our lives without god you're you're not you were not created to live without

35:03god we were by the way we're the only creation out of the whole universe out of everything that is

35:09made in god's image amen that's how much importance that's how much he values us that he made us in

35:15his

35:15image so we are spirit beings we're not human beings we are spirit beings with a body and a soul

35:21not what the world says we're human beings no we're not human beings we're spirit beings first and

35:26foremost we are our citizenship eternal citizenship is heaven we belong to heaven more than anything in

35:35this world we belong to heaven to the kingdom of god if we confess our sins he is faithful and

37:17upon you and you'll be my witnesses telling people about me everywhere so what does that mean it's what

37:23we call in the christian circles yes it's not in the bible for those religious people it's not a

37:28specific word in the bible but it's something that we've attained a title to which is called

37:33baptism of holy spirit where we invite holy spirit why do we need to invite holy spirit because the

37:38reality is when you're living for yourself when you're living for the world you are living by your

37:44flesh you are living by demonic influence you are living by the influence of the world you are living by

37:49vain lusts of the flesh and things like that when you free yourself from that when you receive jesus

37:56christ as your lord and savior you get washed clean as we just heard so you'll now need to fill

38:03that spot you need to fill your vessel which is you your person needs to be filled with what with

38:10god

38:11and that is a gift that god wants to give us baptism of holy spirit and fire he actually wants

38:15to come

38:16and live inside of you that's what the bible tells us he becomes that's why we get the joy of

38:20the indwelling

38:22holy spirit as in he comes and he makes you the temple of the holy spirit he makes you the

38:27the

38:29the very home he lives inside and that's great because he comes bearing spiritual gifts he comes

38:34and he lives inside of you and he will guide you uh in your thoughts he will protect you he

38:38will

38:39strengthen you he will correct you he will lead you throughout life because we do need holy spirit we

38:44need to walk after the the spirit not after the flesh amen amen we need holy spirit to guide us

38:51every

38:51step of this journey so lord we thank you for this privilege we thank you for the privilege of

38:55praying for our brothers and sisters we thank you for those that are making you their lord and savior

39:00right now thank you jesus that heaven is rejoicing over them even now thank you for sending your

39:07ministering angels your flames of fire to their homes right now and lord we say yes we say yes to

39:14the

39:14baptism of holy spirit and fire we say yes holy spirit we want the joy of your indwelling presence

39:20so right now we say fill us with your fire from head to toe inside and out set us a

39:28light

39:29a revival fire that cannot be quenched set us a light for you lord

39:36in the mighty name of jesus we pray amen amen and amen glory to god

40:35perfect no but the head is jesus is the head of the church that's right jesus is who we aim

40:42like amen yes so remember that be gracious with the church because we're all growing we're all growing

40:49at different stages and we're all at different parts of our journey amen amen we may you may be in

40:54your chapter one others may be in the chapter 12 we don't know but we're all growing at different

41:00stages but it's important that we have each other especially in this fallen world in the chaotic world

41:06that we're living in right now supporting each other that's where your support is your community is

41:11that will bring you closer to god bring you closer in that hope that god has given you amen amen

43:41according to the might of his glory to exercise every kind of endurance and patience perseverance

43:47and forbearance with joy giving thanks to the father who has qualified and made us fit to share the
