06:28life rarely changes in a single moment right but it always changes direction it's always moving
06:35even when we stop it's moving amen direction is not shaped by my major decisions alone
06:42it is usually formed through small repeated choices over time that's why scripture doesn't just
06:50warn us about falling it warns us about drifting hebrews 2 verse 1 reminds us to pay close attention
06:58because drifting doesn't announce itself it's subtle it's gradual it's often invisible until distance
07:07is already created you don't wake up one day far from god by accident it begins in the unnoticed
07:15places the prayer moment skipped the conviction ignored the truth softened the compromise tolerated
07:24but here's the hope that changes everything the same principle that leads to drift also leads

09:30once had is missing as if there is a distance you can't quite explain often that's what it means to

09:39some people say like falling away you start drifting slowly and they like just feel like you're getting
09:45further and further away from god drift doesn't begin with open rebellion it starts with quietly by ignoring
09:53small spiritual nudges what seems harmless that harmless at first such as missing moments of prayer
10:02overlooking truth or softening conviction slowly begins to shift our direction over time that quiet neglect
10:12weakens the habits that once kept us grounded until we've drift further than we ever intended
10:20scripture warns us of this subtle danger hebrews 2 verse 1 reading from the amplified classic since
10:27all this is true we ought to pay much closer attention than ever to the truths that we have heard
10:33lest in any way we drift past them and slip away in revelations 2 verses 4 to 5 we're reminded

10:41easily we can lose our first love without even realizing it that exists in the bible george yes it exists
10:49we all
10:50a lot of us thought that was just some christianese thing right you lost your first love it's in the
10:57bible
10:57revelation 2 verses 4 to 5 reading from the new king james version nevertheless i have this against you that
11:05you have
11:05left your first love remember therefore from where you have fallen repent and do the first works
11:14or else i will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place unless you repent
11:21all right let me give you a life analogy drift remember we're talking about drift doesn't start with rebellion
11:30so a garden doesn't become overgrown overnight does it it happens when it's left unattended not
11:37watered not pruned or not cared for weeds don't need permission to grow they only need neglect
11:47so in the same way spiritual drift doesn't require rebellion just the absence of intentional devotion
11:54left unchecked what was once vibrant slowly becomes distant and unfruitful all right number two when
12:04blessing becomes a blind spot the drift of hezekiah so hezekiah's story appears primary in three old
12:13testament books his reign as king of judah is detailed in two kings chapter 18 to 20 2 chronicles 29
12:21to 32 and
12:22isaiah 36 to 39 it began with passion and obedience walking in humility restoring worship and depending
12:32fully on god we all started like that hey he witnessed miracles right god he healed him and even extended
12:40his life i mean how cool is that experienced deliverance and saw his kingdom flourish under god's
12:46blessing but in the midst of that success some things quietly shifted pride started taking root he didn't
12:56turn away from god in an obvious way he simply began to rely more on himself rather than on the
13:03one who had sustained
13:05him when drift is ignored it gradually hardens into decay and that's what really happened we need to examine
13:15ourselves right hezekiah hezekiah welcome babylonians did i say it right babylonians yes i knew
13:21i thought so babylonians on voice and proudly display his treasures what began internally as pride became
13:31externally visible as misplaced trust he started caring more about impressing men than honoring god
13:40decay decay always begin in the heart before it appears in our behavior scripture captures this
13:48turning point right and it says this but hezekiah did not make return to the lord according to the
13:55benefit done to him for his heart became proud at such a spectacular response to his prayer therefore there
14:03was wrath upon him and upon judah and jerusalem to chronicles chapter 32 verse 25 from the amppc version
14:12let me give you a life analogy for it and we are talking about hezekiah when success create a slow
14:19drift now in saying that having success is not a bad thing but having success and leaving the the hand
14:27of god
14:27and relying on oneself you are bound to drift this is a this is a recipe for disaster right so
14:35life
14:35analogy with that will be like this a successful business owner who once worked diligently and stayed
14:41grounded can begin to rely on their own wisdom of after achieving success what started with humility
14:48slowly shift into self-dependence the danger isn't failure it's forgetting what builds a success in the first
14:56place in the same way spiritual success without continued humility can quietly lead to drift
15:04amen number three the power of repentance david and the gift of honest reflection okay so maybe you're
15:13wondering is it too late for me then no it's never too late can my direction change yes let's look
15:20at
15:20david's life for example his story unfolds primarily in one and two samuel one kings and one chronicles with
15:29key moments of his heart revealed in the psalms david drifted to after becoming king he stayed home when
15:37he was meant to go to battle and because of it idleness opened the door to temptation temptation to sin
15:45and
15:45sinned to devastation that's she that's sheba remember but when nathan confronted him david didn't defend or
15:54deflect he turned inward he examined his heart confessed fully and repented with raw honesty scripture capture
16:04captures this turning point in psalm 139 verses 23 to 24 and i'm going to be reading from the voice
16:12translation
16:13explore me oh god and know the real me dig deeply and discover who i am put me to the
16:21test and watch how
16:22i handle the strain examine me to see if there is an evil bone in me and guide me down
16:29your path forever
16:31see his response reversed the drift where wandering often begins quietly in the heart restoration does too
16:42through the power of honest self-examination repentance david teaches us that spiritual decay
16:50decay is never final when repentance is genuine god did not merely forgive david he renewed him
17:01the same god who restores broken bones restores broken hearts amen amen all right so let me give you a
17:10life analogy david when honest self-examination changes direction a pilot mid-flight constantly
17:18checks instruments to stay on course even a slight deviation if ignored can lead miles off the
17:26destination but when correctly corrected early the journey is restored david's repentance is like that
17:34correction he didn't deny the correction he didn't deny the deviation he adjusted immediately honest
17:40evaluation didn't condemn him it realigned him amen all right number four the danger of tolerating wrong
17:49eli and the cost of compromise wow one of the most common ways drifting happens
17:57right for christian and non-christian alike is through compromise if we drift this way
18:06it seeps in every part of our life eli show us this is true even in a church environment
18:15primarily revealed in one samuel chapter one to four as a priest with a family he faced a heartbreaking
18:22reality his own sons were corrupt in their behavior and action eli didn't commit their sins he simply
18:31tolerated them he knew what was happening warned them very mildly but didn't act decisively
18:42passive compromise slowly became active participation very very very important for us to
18:49to to to to take this in i should say because that is um something that we need to apply
18:56in every part of
18:57our life what we stay silent to is what we tolerate and what we tolerate will have an effect on
19:04our life
19:04one way over the other because we have knowledge and we are aware of it right so i'll say it
19:09again
19:10passive compromise slowly became active participation ignoring wrongs never keep us neutral
19:20the scripture marks this failure clearly and it says this why do you look with such greedy eyes
19:27on all the sacrifices and offering and that was talking to eli i have directed the people to bring
19:34to my house god was speaking why do you honor your sons more than you honor me by feasting on
19:43the choice
19:43part of every single offering made by my people israel did you see what it says at the start of
19:50the
19:50scripture he said your eyes were greedy for it so it start it start drifting in i mean you start
19:56drifting
19:56away from the things of god and then it start capturing you you start becoming out of you right so
20:02eli saw
20:03corruption but didn't confront it over time that was to what was tolerated became normalized and what was
20:12normalized became destructive and that is true even in church nowadays we all need to be accountable
20:19right that is why discernment is important so we know if we are drifting or not i mean even in
20:28a house
20:28there's accountability the kids are accountable to the parents um the husband and the wife are accountable
20:33you are there is always accountability that is there to help us to to be um good boundary not to
20:40stop us um
20:41from from enjoying our life ourselves but to help us from harming ourselves right so eli's sons handle
20:48holy things while living corrupt lives that danger still exists today like i said not every preacher speak
20:56truth not every message build health and not every path platform deserves trust we must test what we hear
21:06against scripture discernment against scripture discernment protects destiny right so we'll give you a life
21:14analogy we're talking about eli when compromise is tolerated a small crack of a small crack
21:22i'm having tongue tied today forgive me for that a small crack in a dam may seem insignificant at first
21:31it
21:32doesn't stop the structure immediately but if ignore pressure builds until the entire system fails
21:40eli's mistake wasn't creating corruption it was allowing it to remain what we tolerate today quietly determines
21:49what will break tomorrow amen number five the law of direction how small choices shape eternal outcomes
22:01all right so spiritual direction isn't shaped by one big moment but by many small ones
22:09small humility builds steady strength small neglect leads to slow drift small compromise causes gradual decay
22:20we just have to look at the western societies today greatest examples galatians 6 7 to 9 galatians 6 7
22:29to 9
22:29reading from the amplified classic do not be deceived or deluded and misled god will not allow himself to be
22:37sneered
22:37at scorned disdained or mocked by mere pretensions or professions or by his precepts being set aside
22:46he inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude god
22:52for whatever a man sows that and that only is what he will reap for he who sows to his
23:00own flesh
23:01lower nature sensuality will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction but he who sows to the
23:10spirit will from the spirit reap eternal life and let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in
23:17acting
23:17nobly and doing right for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap if we do not
23:25loosen
23:25and relax our courage and faint but the reverse is just as powerful small faith creates deep stability
23:36small obedience sets lasting direction small discernment offers strong protection
23:45amen amen all right let me give you a life analogy and we're talking about god uses small choices to
23:50shape large outcomes a farmer doesn't harvest based on a single day's effort but on consistent
23:58sowing over time every seed matters and every day contributes in the same way our lives are not
24:06shaped by occasional big decisions but by daily small ones what we sow consistently whether in faith
24:13or neglect will eventually define our harvest wow number six the defining moment why response
24:23determines direction so we all know we were we've been hearing about hezekiah david eli all of them
24:31encountered truth but their responses made all the differences hezekiah ignored the internal pride
24:39taking root david responded to correction with honest self-examination and eli tolerated what
24:45should have been confronted confronted right the key wasn't their exposure to truth it was how they
24:53chose to respond which is finding 2 corinth uh 2 chronicles 32 um verse 25 psalm 139 23 to 24
25:04and 1
25:04samuel chapter 2 verse 29 these give us valuable insights such as success requires humility failure
25:13requires repentance and knowledge requires action right i'll give you a life analogy for this one so we
25:22were talking about the key difference is not knowledge but it is response so three patients receive the same
25:29diagnosis from a doctor one ignores it one delays action and one follows the treatment immediately
25:37the difference in outcome is not the information it's a response spiritually many hear truth but only
25:47those who act on it experience transformation number seven the invitation of grace change direction before
25:57it's too late okay so it's never too late for change in the midst of chaos we can simply correct
26:05a drift
26:05through our actions and responses while there's still time god's mercy makes this hope possible
26:15he invites us to change direction early before small currents become storms because what you repeatedly
26:23tolerate because of what you repeatedly tolerate eventually influences what you become james 4 verse 8 in the
26:34amplified classic come close to god and he will come close to you recognize that you are sinners get your
26:41soiled hands clean realize that you have been disloyal wavering individuals with divided interests
26:47and purify your hearts of your spiritual adultery amen amen so if the invitation of grace is there receive it
26:58yes you can change your direction number eight summary anchored or adrift spiritual drifting is rarely loud or obvious
27:08it is quiet gradual and often unnoticed spiritual drifting doesn't begin with rebellion but with neglect
27:16spiritual drifting grows through small compromises and ignored convictions through the lives of hezekiah

28:56we are not deceived by gradual neglect but we are awakened to spiritual awareness
29:03we declare james 4 verse 6 we choose humility over pride truth over compromise and discernment over
29:11spiritual blindness we declare psalm 119 verses 105 we walk in the light of god's word we declare psalm
29:21139 23 to 24 we examine ourselves with honest hearts before your lord we declare hebrews 2 1 we refuse
29:30spiritual drift and embrace steady growth in christ jesus we declare matthew 13 15 our hearts remain
29:37soft responsive and alive before god we declare proverbs 4 23 our steps are ordered our minds are
29:45guide are guarded and our spirit are attentive we declare luke 16 10 we are strengthened to choose
29:53small faithful actions that build lasting spiritual stability we declare colossians 2 7 we are
30:00rooted in christ growing in christ growing in wisdom and protected from deception we declare john 15
30:06verse 5 we bear fruit in season and remain connected to the true vine we declare psalm 16 verse 11
30:14our
30:15lives move in the direction of life restoration and spiritual strengths and we declare psalm 32
30:22verse 8 we thank you father in the mighty name of jesus for guiding us correcting us restoring us and
30:29keeping us anchored in your truth for yours is the kingdom the power and the glory forever and ever
30:34amen amen and amen i encourage you to go back to what again even though it's a very simple study
30:41there is quite a few things we covered and it's important to listen to all these things to have them
30:47anchored in our hearts because remember information comes through our hearts and then goes into our minds changes our minds
30:54and then
30:55then manifestation happened transformation happened amen all right if you're new here i want to give
31:00you the chance and not waste this time because this is a divine appointment if this is your first time

31:15this for whatever is born of god overcomes the world yes and this is the victory that has overcome the
31:21world our faith i want to ask you where are you putting your faith because everybody has faith
31:26no george i'm an atheist well even that statement alone you believe in that statement is it's it's
31:33faith you can have faith in a statement you can have faith in a guru in money and whatever but
31:38everybody puts their faith in something whether it's even hollywood whether it's stars whether it's
31:43the music favorite musicians everybody puts faith in something and you know very well you will
31:49not be here if you didn't feel that emptiness if you didn't feel that lack of satisfaction that
31:54lack of purpose that something that is missing in your life you've tried everything you've done
32:00everything but you're still hungry for more you still feel like you're missing the most important
32:07ingredient in your life well as you just heard for whatever is born of god overcomes the world that's the
32:12only thing that's going to overcome the world if you're born of god yes and this is the victory that
32:17overcome that has overcome the world our faith in another words the key lies where you put your
32:24faith who is he who overcomes the world then but he who believes that jesus is the son of god
32:30you must
32:30make jesus your lord and savior you must put your faith in jesus and jesus alone that's intolerant joss no
32:37that's the truth and there is no my truth your truth that's opinion no matter how many times i try
32:43to
32:43redefine words and redefine matters the truth is the truth and the truth is not philosophy the truth is
32:50not a word it's not a definition the truth is the person of jesus christ you put your faith in
32:55christ
32:56jesus he will not fail you john 3 16 you've probably heard this before john 3 16 now i'm going
33:01to extend
33:02it to number 17 john 3 16 to 17 says for god so loved the world that he gave his
33:09only son talking
33:09about jesus christ that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life but god did
33:17not send his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved
33:23and
33:23that might there is only because you have this wonderful gift that god's given you already called
33:29free will it's up to you if you receive him you will be saved the word of god tells us
33:34that if you
33:35don't receive him there's that might part because the choice is yours god does not force anybody
33:42so what do i need to do george 1 john 1 verse 9 tells us amongst others if we confess
33:49our sins
33:51yeah sins that dirty word that's been totally miscommunicated throughout the world look sin
34:00in its most simplistic definition is when we try to live our lives without god we were we are the
34:07only
34:07creation out of the whole universe out of everything that is created in god's image the word of god tells
34:12us that we are made in god's image so we're not human beings we're not monkeys or came out of
34:17some soup
34:18that appeared out of nowhere no we are made in god's image there is a creator there is a god
34:26and that's the god the christian god and he made us in his image so we are spirit beings with
34:33a body
34:33and a soul we're passing through as the word of god tells us so if you confess your sins if
34:39you reach
34:40out to god and you confess your wrongdoing your sins he's faithful that's what the word of god says
34:461 john 1 9 he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness
34:54and
34:54just yes because that justice he's already paid for it so he will he's already paid for it and he
35:02will
35:02give you his righteousness where is that in the word of god great question you're on the ball
35:10so if you look on the screen you can see in romans 10 verses 9 to 10 tells us very
35:15simply that if you
35:17confess with your mouth the lord jesus and believe in your heart that god has raised him from the dead
35:22you will be saved see what i said there it is but with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and
35:28with the mouth confession is made unto salvation so as just like you can hear my audible voice right now
35:34cry out to god with it from a genuine heart has to be well intentioned you have to mean it
35:41if you
35:42cry out to god in your own words there is no generic prayer but you cry out to god he
35:48will save you
35:49right now as you listen to my own words just cry out to him i can't remember the exact words

35:54but i said something along the lines i can't take it anymore lord jesus and i said lord because i
36:01was a
36:01catholic for many years and uh i grew up in the catholic church and all that so i said jesus

36:08need you i need you you need to be real because i can't continue to live on like this so
36:13from this
36:14day forward i'm making my lord and savior help me thank you for dying on that cross for me thank
36:20you
36:20for taking my place and from this day forward use my life for your glory it's as simple as that
36:25but it
36:26has to come from a genuine heart and as you can see on the screen there's other bible verses titus
36:313 verse 5 ephesians 2 verse 8 acts 1 verse 8 amongst others goes on to say then he saves
36:36us
36:37by grace his part through faith our part in the sense that we have to put our faith in the
36:45gift
36:46of grace in the gift of jesus christ of his death and resurrection what he did for us the gift
36:53of god
36:53washes away our sins giving us the new joy of the indwelling holy spirit wow and you will receive power
37:00when you when the holy spirit comes upon you and you'll be my witnesses telling people about me
37:04everywhere that's called in the christian circles baptism of holy spirit and fire and as soon as you
37:11cry out to god right now make jesus your lord and savior believe in your heart that that god raised
37:17him
37:17from the dead in your place you will be saved and then just cry out to him and say lord
37:22i want that
37:22joy i want the joy of your indwelling holy spirit you invite him holy spirit god himself the spirit of
37:30the living god will come and live inside of you he will come and you will be his dwelling place

37:37that's amazing and he comes bearing gifts he comes bearing spiritual gifts like prophecy like uh speaking
37:43in tongues like interpretation of tongues like miracles etc etc he comes bearing gifts that he will use
37:49through you he will teach you he will guide you he'll protect you he's the great comforter as the
37:53word of god says we need him we need holy spirit in every part of our lives let us pray
