00:00Ray Rice, back in the news for something positive.
00:04Ray Rice promised his grandmother that he would finish college,
00:09that he would get a college degree.
00:11And yesterday, he was at Rutgers, where he started,
00:15and finished off his academic requirements.
00:19There's our coach, Greg Sciano, there,
00:20who was his coach back then as well.
00:23And Ray Rice, for all the bad things you want to say about him,
00:26that guy is now a college graduate.
00:29And fulfilled a promise that he made to his grandmother.
00:32He's a dear, dear friend of mine.
00:34We both grew up in the same town, New Rochelle, New York.
00:38He's one of my closest friends.
00:40I think he feels the same about me.
00:42And that is a great accomplishment right there,
00:44that Ray Rice has come back and graduated college.
00:48Yeah, I think that's tremendous.
00:49We know the mistake he made, but it's about what you do after the fact.
00:52He's done great work.
00:53And I have to give credit to him and another one of your friends,
00:55Tim Hardaway, for the great work he did after his mistake.
00:58You're surrounded by guys that do well.
01:00His mistake was verbal.
01:01Ray's, of course, was physical.
01:02It was far worse.
01:03But both of them made a very positive impact after their mistakes.
01:07Yeah, love Ray Rice.
01:08He's back in Baltimore now this morning.
01:10Went back last night.
01:11But what a great thing to do.
01:13Like, you and I, a lot of people are like,
01:16oh, not that big a deal.
01:17It's a big deal.
01:18It's a big deal.
01:19You raised the first college graduate in his family.
01:21It's a big deal.
01:22That's a big deal.
01:23It's a big deal.
01:23That should be celebrated.
01:24And also, most of the time, if people just look at his own family,
01:29they're most likely not going to go on to play in the NFL.
01:32Correct.
01:32But now they have a much better chance.
01:34They see someone directly.
01:35I can go get an education.
01:37And that's life changing.
01:38If he did it, I can do it.
01:40Right.
01:40So great job, I think, by Ray Rice.
01:42And very, very proud of him.
01:43And I'm happy to call him a good friend.
01:46Amen.
