00:00As you know, Max Crosby got traded to the Baltimore Ravens.
00:02They get a first-round pick this year and a first-round pick next year
00:06for one of the best defensive ends in all football.
00:09And Max Crosby now gets to go to play for a team that's got a legitimate shot, of course,
00:13to be a postseason team and beyond,
00:16as the Baltimore Ravens sure up what was a very bad, leaky defense
00:19for the first, like, seven or eight weeks last year.
00:22They got better as the year went on, as they got some injured players back.
00:25But that was a train wreck on defense.
00:27So probably a good move all around.
00:30But the side story of that, which has Patriot fans all ticked off,
00:34is that the story is, and I guess it's been confirmed in New England,
00:40is that Tom Brady made it very, very clear to the folks out in Las Vegas,
00:46you are not trading Max Crosby to the New England Patriots.
00:49Like, went out of his way that the Patriots were a persona non grata for a trade.
00:54It didn't matter what they might have offered.
00:55And I don't think it ever got to an offer stage.
00:58But the Patriots, of course, like everyone else,
01:00wants to improve their defensive line and, you know, getting to the quarterback.
01:04And Tom Brady now kind of feeling the ire of New England Patriot fans
01:10for specifically telling the Raiders, we're going to trade Crosby,
01:14but we are not trading Crosby to the Patriots.
01:17Almost as if Tom Brady is somehow insecure,
01:23which makes no sense to me at all,
01:25considering six, obviously, Super Bowls there.
01:28They got a freaking statue outside the stadium for him.
01:32They're going to retire his number, all that stuff, right?
01:34Hall of Fame, all this and that.
01:36But apparently, Tom Brady and the Patriots,
01:40he does not want to see the Patriots
01:42or kind of do what Kevin McHale did in the NBA
01:45when he was running the T-Wolves
01:47and decided to just help the Boston Celtics
01:50y'all go back to another NBA Finals
01:52and win a championship with the Garnett deal.
01:55So it's interesting, though,
01:57that a Tom Brady would have said
01:59every team's on deck except for New England
02:02and now Patriot fans are like,
02:04well, we may have to take that statue down now.
02:06I love it.
02:07See, now, you can't take the statue down for that.

02:12What I mean is you can't get too mad.
02:13But if you're Tom Brady,
02:16I don't owe the Patriots anything.

02:20Now, they gave me a chance early,
02:21but look, I returned you with a bunch of Super Bowls.

02:26just to prove that it wasn't just y'all.

02:36he probably would have done it.

02:47who I guess is making a lot of personnel decisions,

02:52Like, his responsibility is to them.
02:54So why would you say no to another franchise
02:57who might make you a better offer?
02:59That doesn't sound smart.

03:08First, the Ravens have better picks than New England

03:27Did they pick up the phone?
03:29Was there any kind of conversation at all?
03:31I mean, if you're doing your job
03:33and you know Max Crosby's available,
03:34I would think 31 teams picked up the phone and said,
03:38just give me an idea of what we're looking for.
03:40Now, if you'd said to me,
03:41the Raiders made it clear to the Chiefs,
03:44the Broncos, and the Chargers,
03:45we're not trading him within our own division.
03:47Well, that makes sense to me.
03:49Yeah.
03:49Like, we want the best possible offer,
03:51but we don't know,
03:52we're not going to help a team that,
03:53in theory,
03:54if we get the Mendoza pick right,
03:57and we now have a chance to compete
03:59in the next couple of years,
04:00why are we going to give you a guy
04:02that's going to make it harder for us to beat you?
04:04So, if you told me that they told the AFC West,
04:06we're not trading him within the division,
04:09okay, that makes sense to me.
04:10If you then also said,
04:12I'd prefer to find an NFC team first,
04:15okay, makes sense to me.
04:17But eliminating the Patriots,
04:19that to me just seems,
04:21you know, like a jilted lover.
