00:04you're taking over an offense that has been among the best in the nation the past few years now
00:08how do you find a balance between you know not one to upset the apple cart but also you know
00:13put your stamp on it now that you're the offensive coordinator you're the play caller
00:16uh i think that like it's a that's an interesting question you know it's kind of like um you know
00:23people ask you like what's your favorite play right now it's like whatever's gonna score you
00:28know like whatever we need to do in that particular moment um do we i think that one of the
00:35the great
00:36things that we had with will here previously is we saw the game very similarly uh not completely
00:41similar or not completely alike but uh very similarly and i think you know i was asked a
00:46question about will last fall camp you know um and it was like what do we think the offense is
00:53going
00:53to look like and um i think will would tell you the same thing it's you know every offense every
00:59year is going to be a little bit different um and regardless of who's calling plays or it's just the
01:04faces that are on the offense are going to be a little bit different and the skills that you have
01:08on there there's going to be some guys that are a year older and a little bit better there's going
01:12to be some new guys that show up there's going to be some young guys that need to play for
01:15you what
01:15can they do and how can we put them in a position to be successful um you know i think
01:21we're at a
01:21point right now early in spring where we're seeing you know where those pieces are going to fit and
01:27who's going to develop and um what they're going to be able to do for us um you know so
01:33what are we
01:33going to be completely uh like in the fall i think it still remains to be seen i don't think
01:38that
01:38anybody going into um spring ball last year would have said that we would have been in this much
01:44two-back personnel as we were but our running back room ended up being uh a real positive for us
01:51um and you know the two freshman running backs for us played really really well for us down the
01:56stretch you know and when we had some we have a we had a talented wide out room last year
02:00we got
02:00another talented wide out room this year um but you know some guys got banged up so we played in
02:05a
02:05little bit more 12 personnel uh and even you think about this time right now last year jamari johnson
02:10was not practicing because he was coming off a broken leg you know what i mean so um i think
02:17a lot of that still remains to be seen and and we're you know molding the pieces and putting them
02:22together um so is it like the the my stamp like thing like this is never going to be drew
02:29marriage's
02:29offense you know or anything like that this is this is always going to be our offense there's a lot
02:34voices there's a lot of really smart coaches that are in this building um not just uh myself or any
02:40one particular person we have a very talented offensive staff and um i've learned more football
02:47from dan lanning uh and chris hampton and those guys um so i think that there's always pieces that
02:53you can take and learn from right and uh how can we use those pieces and that information to grow
02:57and
02:57get better and um allow our playmakers to go make some plays for us
03:08you
