00:00What are the errors that you're alluding to there in the U.S. approach to this conflict?
00:05Well, that they started it. There was no reason to attack Iran.
00:09Iran was not seeking to develop a nuclear weapon.
00:12And so doing such an attack, largely or at least partially at the behest of Israel, was a strategic blunder,
00:21similar to the 2003 Iraq war.
00:23And I guess we expected that we'd decapitate the leadership, do a couple of days of shock and awe bombing,
00:30and the Iranians would accept our proposal, but that wasn't the case.
00:37And now, especially with the Iranian seizure of the strait of Hormuz, it's just so much more economically dangerous because
00:45every day the strait remains closed, more and more lasting global economic damage is happening.
