00:00Well, I think it is a set of assumptions that were exaggerated, in the sense that, yes, Iran had been
00:06weakened, after October 7th especially, with the weakening of its allies in the region, with the degradation of its own
00:15military capacity in two military confrontations, limited ones, with Israel in 2024, and also the 12-day war in 2025.
00:24But this fruit was not ripe for the picking. The regime was not on the verge of collapse, and it
00:30had learned a lot of lessons from those confrontations.
00:34It started planning for the next round of military strikes on its territory by the U.S. and Israel on
00:41June 24th, on the 13th day of the 12-day war.
00:46It was prepared. It had well-taught true plans in ways that the U.S. didn't.
00:51The U.S. and Israel had a lot of improvised half measures and wishful thinking when it got to the
00:59conduct of this war or its objectives.
01:01And that's why I think the resilience of a regime like the Islamic Republic was underestimated.
01:08And this is one of the reasons that this war didn't go as planned.
01:12To be continued...
