00:20Hi Chef! Good morning!
00:22Hello! Good morning! Rise and shine!
00:24Alright Chef, to start off, let's talk about your business journey.
00:28You started as an overseas Filipino worker working abroad in Qatar to be exact.
00:34And then you decided to go back here in the Philippines para ba magtayo ng negosyo?
00:39Well, actually when I was working in Doha, Qatar in 2004, we established the restaurant and the business during 2014.
00:49So we started outside. This is our house. This is our family house.
00:53So we started to garden serving Vietnamese coffee.
00:56Eventually, my mom, who is Vietnamese also, she wanted to introduce some Vietnamese food to the coffee shop.
01:04So we started with our signature dish, yung pho, beef pho, then some banh mi.
01:09How much capital do they need to be able, you know, to start up, kahit small, in the food business
01:15industry?
01:16I remember noong 2014 when we started serving Vietnamese coffee and cupcakes, parang nasa 5,000 pesos lang ang ano
01:26namin, ang puhunan namin.
01:27So ayan mga kanegosyo, sa haligang 5,000, kaya nyo nang magsimula sa food business industry?
01:33Yes. So we were very surprised na when we started our business na sa garden lang, al fresco, we never
01:43realized na through word of mouth and through friends and family, kasi wala pang social media noon eh.
01:49We were able to promote our little coffee shop into what is now a restaurant.
01:56Chef, alam natin sa bawat pag ninegosyo, hindi mawawala ang challenges.
02:01One of the struggles that we had starting was sourcing out ingredients.
02:06During the time that we were starting, I remember we would go to Vietnam pag may piso sale, then return
02:14home may 20 kilos na kape.
02:15Doon sa box na balikbayan box. But now, sa panahon ngayon lahat, everything is online.
02:23You can easily access everything.
02:25Yes, a lot of ingredients are available now.
02:28Bakit importante yung magnegosyo ang bawat mamamayang Pilipino?
02:32It might sound to be a gamble, but owning your own business probably would give you a lot of control.
02:39I used to be an employee myself, pero I didn't feel that I was growing.
02:44I felt that I was stuck in that job.
02:47Unlike pag nag-negosyo ka, ma-fulfill mo yung mga goals mo eh.
02:54You'll feel na, oh, I achieved something.
02:57Kahit maliit na bagay lang, you'd really appreciate those kind of small things.
03:02If you're willing and if you're brave enough, please try to have your own business.
03:15You are never too old or too young para mangarap.
