00:00Just curious, he is known best around the league, as you talk to people, Rod, as a player evaluator.
00:06That is his strength, according to other executives.
00:10It might be the biggest reason he was hired.
00:12What are some examples of that in New Orleans during your time covering him?
00:16Yeah, I mean, you look at some of the players who've come through this franchise,
00:20and he was the guy who saw him.
00:23And I just start with a player who's here now, Eve Macy, who was at Baylor.
00:27They were pretty raw, but Bryson saw him at a practice at Baylor,
00:31and Eve Macy ended up making second-team all-rookie team last season.
00:38Some of the more notable ones that people may be more familiar with would include,
00:41like Trey Murphy, who's one of the more versatile players in the league.
00:44Bryson kind of had an eye for him when he was at Virginia Tech.
00:49And then you've got two players who went on to be named NBA Most Improved Players,
00:55and Nikhil Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels, they're both with the Atlanta Hawks now.
01:00And they started out here in New Orleans, and Bryson is going to attribute that to Bryson as well.
01:05So, I mean, he really has an eye for talent.
01:09Nigel Marshall, Jose Alvarado, two guys that were undrafted,
01:12but he saw enough in them to give them a shot here in New Orleans.
01:15They both stuck.
01:16Jose is now, obviously, with the Knicks.
01:18And Nigel Marshall's playing with the Dallas Mavericks.
01:20Both of those are the high-impact players.
01:22So, he really has an eye for talent, and I think people in Chicago see that.
01:26I know, I think we got two draft picks this season.
01:29Yes, yes.
01:29I don't know, but, yeah.
01:31Yeah, and I'd be shocked if he doesn't nail those two draft picks,
01:34because he has a really good eye for talent.
01:37And I think some of the credit goes to, like, you look at some of the people he's worked with.
01:41He's worked with David Griffin, who, you know, won a title in Cleveland as an executive in 2016.
01:50He's worked with Dale Demps, who's the guy who sort of discovered him and brought him along.
01:55You know, Dale's now in Minnesota as Tim Connelly's right-hand man.
01:58He also worked with Tim Connelly when Tim was here.
02:00And Tim's the one who, you know, basically built the Denver Nuggets championship team
02:06and then built the Minnesota team that beat the Denver Nuggets team.
02:10So, yeah.
02:11And then he also worked with Trajan Langdon, who's now with the Pistons.
02:14And Pistons was the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.
02:16So, he's worked around some really talented general managers.
02:19And so, I mean, he just knows every aspect of the game.
02:23And he's worked with the people who've been successful, and that's kind of rubbed off on him.
02:27So, I think Chicago made a really good high in getting Bryson.
02:31And we all knew that he, you know, eventually, you know, wanted to run an NBA team.
02:35And we all knew that he had a really good degree.
02:36So, you know, what he's working on?
