00:00The Chicago Bulls are hiring Atlanta Hawks senior vice president Bryson Graham as the franchise's new executive vice president of
00:07basketball operations.
00:09Graham spent 15 years in New Orleans before joining Atlanta last offseason, rising from an intern in New Orleans.
00:19More from Shams. Graham, 39, has been known across the NBA for a tremendous scouting eye and being part of
00:27successful finds in the draft and player acquisitions during his tenure with the Pelicans and Hawks.
00:34The Bulls conducted in-person interviews with candidates last week and mulled over three finalists, Graham, Detroit Pistons senior vice
00:43president Dennis Lindsay, and Minnesota Timberwolves general manager Matt Lloyd.
00:48Over the weekend before deciding on Graham on Monday.
00:52So there it is. Brand new hire by the Bulls.

01:10If I'm thinking of what is the odd attribute for when you're thinking about Bryson Graham, it's the guy that's
01:17not in the playoffs.
01:18Somebody that you can name right now.
01:20Somebody who could bring in a head coach.
01:22Somebody who could be there for the draft lottery.
01:24Be there for the process early and often.
01:26And you don't have to weigh some things.
01:27I wonder if that weighed into certain things.
01:29I think about Matt Lloyd, and for all the reasons why I said earlier, I think Bulls fans.
01:34One of my old bosses in radio once told me when I was crying in his office about some changes
01:40that were being made.
01:41He said, you know, Gabe, sometimes you just need a fresh coat of paint.
01:45And I think that's where the Bulls are at in the present.
01:47This old team that they have, the AK.
01:49And I understand AK was a fresh set of eyes, but he himself ran his course.
01:54And so where they're at right now, it is another fresh set of eyes.
01:58Someone that can look at it from a different perspective.
02:00How often, I know you play chess, Speaks, do you look at the table when you're not actually the one

02:04When you're the one looking from the top end, you see moves that the players themselves don't see.
02:09And I think that's ultimately what the Bulls want.
02:11And I think they made a great hire in bringing somebody that is known as a draft and talent evaluator.
02:17This is a guy who brought in Dyson Daniels, a most improved player.
02:20Bringing in Trey Murphy, a guy who can shoot threes from everywhere.
02:24You made roster moves to try to improve.
