Mali probes alleged military links to jihadis after major attacks

Some military officers in Mali worked with jihadis and separatists who recently launched their biggest round of attacks in over a decade in the conflict-battered country, authorities said late Friday.

00:00Mali's military prosecutors have accused several active and former officers of helping plan and carry out the attacks.

00:36Those assaults have been described as the biggest in the country in nearly 15 years.
00:41Pressure is also mounting around Bamako, where Jinim has launched a road blockade that restricts movements.
00:48During those assaults, the rebels killed Mali's defense minister and took the crucial northern town of Kidal.
00:54On Friday, forces from Mali's key Thessalic super camp near the Algerian border surrendered the military installation and scattered southward,
