Senate Blue Ribbon Chairman Erwin Tulfo on July 28, 2026 bares supposed attempts by the Senate minority bloc, led by Sen. Alan Cayetano, to halt its investigation into anomalous flood control projects. Tulfo declines to name names, but says it is 'obvious' who may be behind the effort. Taguig, Cayetano's bailiwick, has been the subject of Lacson's independent investigation, which allegedly uncovered 'ghost,' substandard, and duplicate budget projects in the city. The findings were submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman earlier on July 28, with the recommendation for plunder, graft, and malversation.
