Malian army denies releasing jihadists to end fuel convoy attacks

The Malian army denied on Monday that it had released around 200 suspected jihadists in mid-March to secure an end to attacks on fuel convoys that are crippling the landlocked nation's economy.

00:41been attacking fuel transport convoys. The recurring attacks have led to a critical fuel shortage
00:47in the capital Bamako. Although tensions eased over the past months, the capital once again
00:55faced the shortage in March. Fuel convoys arrived in Bamako after mid-March, once the alleged
01:01deal had been reached. Three of the suspected jihadists have so far died after being released,
