00:00good morning good afternoon and good evening depending on where you are in the world
00:04we'd like to introduce you to magic gathering online and we'll and uh we're going to be playing
00:12uh best out of three two matches and i'd like to welcome all the people first of all watching
00:18this live on facebook i do appreciate that and what we're going to be doing is we're going to
00:24start out showing you my deck i'm going to be playing first before i play it so i'm going to
00:29be playing arcane airless i just added a deck to take out some of my sarah angels and uh put
00:36in
00:37i crafted some things so i put in like pacifism for four um i wanted more defense and removal
00:45uh dawn bringer i crafted to get four dawn bringers so instead of having sarah angels have dawn bringers
00:51actually dawn bringers better card uh it's the same casting it's the same cost it's three colorless and
00:58two whites but it has a instead of a sarah angel being a four four this is a five five
01:04and it has
01:05flying first strike and lifelink so the other one the only advantage of sarah angel is it has vigilance
01:12this one doesn't but it says other angels you control get plus one plus one and have lifelink so
01:18ideally i'd like to have both but it's like five casting costs so i'm going to go away from that
01:24another notable thing is cloud blazer
01:28flying when this creature enters you gain two life and draw two cards it's also five
01:34uh stasis snare for defense flash which you can play at any time uh you can do you can play
01:41this
01:41anytime you cast instant which is at any time uh during the game both your turn and your opponent's
01:47turn and when this enters you exile target creature of an opponent that controls until the
01:52enchantment leaves the battlefield so it's basically like okay you they can no longer use the card
01:58until that card leaves the battlefield so battlefield and not hand so let's say it gets returned to hand
02:05okay then of course uh it goes back uh i'm trying to be sure to function these battlefield
02:13exile okay so it comes out of exile i believe it goes back to their hand
02:18then we have stuff like uh synergy synergistic things like um aspiring overseer when the when when it enters
02:25you gain one life and draw a card dazzling angel when another creature you control enters you gain a life
02:32so
02:32not just angels of course we're going to do a chart of course you draw two cards and discard a
02:37card
02:37unless you attack this turn so you play after the attack or you can play a turn two and get
02:43something
02:43out also what we want to do is a youthful valkyrie with how this is an angel with flying when
02:49another
02:49angel you control enters you put a plus one plus one counter on this creature and so we mentioned
02:56pacifism cooped up it's another thing i added so i took out some things and added some things
03:03cooped up and what it does is it you put this card on a creature and it can attack or
03:08block
03:10and also you can pay three which is two colors and a white and you exile the enchanted creature
03:15okay so that's me of course you want to use spectral sailor for one drop it's flying and flash
03:21for one blue and then uh for three colors and a blue you can draw a card notice it doesn't
03:28tap so
03:29you can just keep doing that almost like a flat like a uh not flashback i like just can continue
03:37to
03:37do it yes then we have healer's hawk one drop for white that's a flying and lifelink or one one
03:45uh refute counter target spell draw a card then discard a card that's one colors and two blue so
03:51it's a three drop write a replication what it does is that oh that's the kicker cost it means you
03:56can
03:56copy it i mean you can replay it well kicker you may pay an additional cost as you cast it
04:02so
04:03you have to pay the oh you may pay an additional cost as you oh okay that's expensive so you
04:11may pay
04:11an additional cost as you cast the kicker okay create a token that's a copy of the target creature
04:18if the spell was kicked create five of the tokens instead so you pay the four and you create a
04:25token
04:25that's a copy of the target creature which is very good two colors and two blue if you pay the
04:31kicker
04:31cost which in this case is five colors which means of any color and if it was so if the
04:36if the kicker
04:37goes through then you create five of those tokens instead so that's really good so you have five
04:44let's say it's bad best of those okay i'm paying five okay i got five of those it's gonna cost
04:50nine
04:50mana so but it's really good late game of course lion dawn bringer i just told you it was flying
04:57for
04:57shrek and and lifelink has the synergy of plus one plus one other angels get plus one plus one and
05:02lifelink
05:02so like what lifelink does when it does damage gain that much life so we have our standard uh plains
05:10and islands and then for non uh standard land is already a skill gate and i can add this uh
05:16dual
05:16lands it's white or blue uh temple of enlightenment it enters tapped of course but when when the land
05:23enters you get described so you can see what's the top card and then they keep it there and move
05:27it to
05:27to the graveyard then we have uh yeah then we have tranquil cove this enters tapped of course
05:35but when the land enters you gain one life it's also you can add you tap you can either add
05:40a white
05:40or a blue okay so that's what that is now the format what we're going to do is what we're
05:45going to do
05:46is we're going to play by side of three for two matches okay it's going to be standard ranked
05:55so what you do is you select a deck right you go to find a match not events make sure
06:01it's best out
06:01of three and click ranked and then you have under rank you have different formats so first is uh
06:09what format we're using ranked is it one single game or best out of three then what's the format
06:16standard rank alchemy historic pioneer or timeless i'm going to go standard rank
06:21and then from there of course we need to select the deck and then click play and then from there
06:27what we do is we wait to be paired and then what will happen is the system will determine who
06:38plays
06:39first you either you get to option of playing first or drawing first usually playing first is better
06:46because uh you can get a creature out and then on your next turn right you can play it out
06:52so you're
06:53sort of like a half a turn ahead when you get to play first now the other tricky thing is
07:02well not
07:02tricky but the drawback is what happens is uh you'll have to worry about mulligan now they also at this
07:12point they can decide to draw so on they get on their turn they'll get an extra card they'll get
07:17eight cards instead of seven oh wait you'll start with eight excuse me and then you'll
07:23yeah you uh so excuse me you both have seven but on their turn they'll have eight i believe
07:31right so you'll instead of so instead of me drawing instead of me starting with seven
07:35you'll start with eight oh i like that avatar that one's cool okay so i'm going to wait for your
07:45opponent it's choosing okay this is our mana curve we got two of them we have a one five two
07:52three and
07:53three these are very good so i want to keep it and then what we want to do is play
07:57healer's hawk so we're
08:05what we want to do is pay attention to what the card says has landfall meaning whenever a land you
08:10control enters you put a plus one plus one counter on this creature so it becomes a so it's a
08:15zero one
08:16so it becomes a one two this is going to come into play tapped next turn i'm going to play
08:24healer's hawk
08:26now we got the plus one so he can just ping me oh very nice
08:35yes that's very nice yeah i want to do get this two out now this is i can't get that
08:42out yet
08:43for the um stasis snare so i'll just have to play healer's hawk
08:50and because if i if i block he he dies i'll just have to take the full three
08:57early game it's possible we got three mana so both both would be pumped so that's very good
09:07so it's plus one plus one for each in play
09:14so each lane you control it's three so it's plus three plus three to zero plus one so we're doing
09:21five damage and we'll block just kind of kill it off anyway what we're going to do is we're going
09:28to
09:28play for three we're going to do stasis snare two this one okay yeah let's because we're not going
09:41to block anyways so let's just attack that for one we're not going to block it anyway so what's the
09:47point now next one we want to do is either that or the uh chocobo so let's
10:00we don't want to get that off the board

10:31get a two two and block now that's this is gonna have to go his way on this one

10:54i won't be able to block the other two so that's going to be over what we're going to do

11:14so because i lost what happens is i'll get to play first
11:22and then if i win this round next time he'll be able to get the first play in
11:36the good thing about sideboarding is you can replace 15 of you up to 15 of your cards or not

13:04opponent sacrifice chairman or post sacrifice creature with flying flying of the choice has to
13:10be flying so it's one of those three and then what we're gonna do is i'm gonna wait for a
13:18better
13:18car to come out to use pacifism so we're gonna be on turn four and what i'm gonna do

13:30yeah that's gonna have to do pacifism on him plus he has trample so that's kind of nasty
13:37uh let's get this out pacifism on yeah yeah hydra yeah i just don't have enough out right now
13:50so turn five we'll play a cloudblazer this will give us two cards and two life

14:00is okay in terms of the overall effect um what do we have 13
14:08oh nice very nice yeah it's nice yeah so that's seven that's a seven damage this has vigilance so
14:19it doesn't tap when it attacks we're gonna bring this in we're gonna have to bring this in
14:26simply because we need the mana but actually we're not going to be able to survive this
14:29so that's going to be game unless we got a special card what do we have
14:37no that's gonna be a good game because you look at it it can only block and then we add
14:42it up one two
14:43three two three and then eight
14:58yeah now you can just go all in and win okay that's okay
15:06just skip that doesn't matter so that's match number one so what we want to do after each match
15:13see what worked what didn't work um i had plenty of mana but i didn't seem to get creatures out
15:21fast
15:21enough that is luck of the draw so uh what else um even if you win you still want to
15:30assess how you did
15:31and how you can play better so what i might assess is if there's any way i could improve that
15:39so maybe
15:39lower drop creatures but also the probability of drawing a card can be increased if you have four
15:46but it is random in terms of what you actually draw okay so anyway
15:54we have a pretty good deck let's just stay with that the idea is if you have two games that
16:00have
16:00have the same theme happening then we're gonna i have to change the deck up promptly so let's go for
16:07match number two find match arcane arrows that's set of three traditional uh standard rank and ranked
16:19click play and let's try this again

17:23do it on better cards but if that's hex proof can or cannot be targeted then we can't use that
17:32so we're going to do because we don't have anything else we're going to play we're going
17:35to play out guide of font of hope you want to always be doing something active even when we're
17:42waiting on our what our opponent's going to do notice he played a dual lane green green black
17:48which indicates what he's going to play the chocobo is also the main card in the deck
17:55what i want to actually do at this point i'd like to get him off the board if possible
18:05yeah it's too good it's too good of a card to be honest
18:10let's just slam for two so it cannot attack or block okay you can have find a way to remove

18:20such as uh well if you sacrifice it and then brought it back it would remove that from
18:28um yeah it's a fact for me it doesn't mean it can't use oh wait what

19:55wow i'm a lot of the same amazing pacifism on this one and
20:05legendary you can only have one in play at the same time so we're just gonna slam for two

23:29and then
23:31we need white so we can get out healer's hawk
23:35and we can get play special sailor
23:41no let's bring out two of these
23:45let's slam for one
23:50those are not bad drops
23:52i just need the mana
24:00sacrifice land search your library for a piece of car put it into
24:05oh i see
24:07then it pumps it to three okay no blocks
24:13we don't have that that's that's really bad
24:18uh let's slam for two total
24:24i mean i'm not gonna block it anyway so you might as well just swap two for two here
24:32this is rotten i don't have any other mana

26:42but abigail becomes prepared prepare is when it's prepared you cast copy of the spell
26:48on preparation
26:51all right yeah it's a one-time thing
26:54so you get two of them oh that's very nice i like that one one black destroy target creature or
27:02enchantment upon control you lose life equal to that permit
27:05mana oh i don't know if i want to do that that's too much
27:11that's the grand jury discard the card name patrons reveal cards from the top of your
27:17library until you feel it's first your card oh i like that
27:24expressive fire dancer opiates whenever you cast
27:32this creature gets double strike until enter so double strike means it hits twice
27:39now first strike just means that it will do damage first but this will do damage twice
27:47target creature control gets plus one plus one
27:50chase inspiration target creature gets zero zero plus zero plus three and gains hexproof until enter
27:56this is pretty good for one drop that's definitely good colossus of the blood age
28:01four colors red and white when a creature enters it deals three damage to each opponent and you gain
28:07three life oh i like that for six six i'm gonna creature die to start any number of cards and
28:12didn't draw that many plus one wow that is beautiful
28:20isa mage tower captain the djinn sorcerer whenever you cast an instant or sorcerer spell you tap three
28:26untapped creatures you control
28:30if you do so copy the spell you may choose new targets for the copy
28:37oh so you tap one oh that's very nice i like that that's really nice all right guys what you
28:45think
28:45pretty amazing right nice cards my stuff coming out what i need to do is i want to build a
28:52deck that has
28:53newer stuff um i've got all this crafting stuff i can do so maybe it should work on crafting
28:59i've got 29 commons 41 41 commons 14 years and five minutes i'll keep in mind in some decks actually
29:06that you can only have one two three or four of a kind depending on the type the card it
29:11is and or
