00:00:00Good evening or good morning, depending on where you are in the world.
00:00:03We'd like to introduce you to you, Epic Cleric from Dungeons and Dragons Online.
00:00:09We're going to be running two quests today.
00:00:11One is going to be Sunken Sewer, the other one's going to be Missing in Action.
00:00:17The setting for this is actually Eberron, and the city is Stormreach.
00:00:23So Eberron's basically the country, Stormreach is basically the city.
00:00:26For all the people not familiar with this setting, what I'm going to do is I'm going to play what
00:00:31they call an intro movie
00:00:32to show you the architecture, the type of monsters, and other things in the dungeon,
00:00:37and a typical just introduction to what you would see in the game.
00:00:43All right, so let's double check, make sure everything's good to go.

00:02:49No storm is yet on the horizon, evil rises from the waters of despair and misery from the world.
00:03:10So what do you think? Pretty interesting, right?
00:03:15What we're going to be doing is we're going to be playing those two quests that I mentioned.
00:03:19We're going to be running an epic, which is 20th level up, maximum level 34, cleric.
00:03:27This is more damage based and healing based.
00:03:30I'm going to talk about tactics. I'm talking about strategy in the dungeon.
00:03:33I'm talking about preparation and also how you can get the most out of the dungeons in terms of loot,
00:03:40etc.
00:03:41First thing we want to do is have your action bar set up.
00:03:48Now your action bar, what they call clickies, you click on it and it does a function, right?
00:03:54So what I'm going to do is what you're going to do is going to have your action bar set
00:03:58up.
00:03:58I recommend three of them.
00:04:00So you're going to have ones that's most common.
00:04:03So you can have your hirelings here.
00:04:05Other things like resurrection, your healing, your healer cookies, like a A gives you temporary points.
00:04:11Healing like cure moderate wounds.
00:04:15Then you have your damage like comet fall and things restore certain damaging effects to you.
00:04:23Other things like mass protection from elements.
00:04:27You have your hirelings.
00:04:29Then things get like against certain evil line characters.
00:04:33You have protection from evil.
00:04:34Then you have your cure light wounds.
00:04:37Then we have gold seal elixirs of superior healing.
00:04:41And this is really good.
00:04:44And then also we have again, we have the potions of age, which gives you also gives you temporary points.
00:04:50Now, keep in mind doesn't stack with aid the actual spell.
00:04:53Then we have unyielding sovereignty, which recovers everything except for spell points.
00:05:00Then you have your damaging spells like divine wrath and firestorm.
00:05:05Then you have things that will buff up your ability with positive energy burst.
00:05:10Then you have things dispels magic, greater dispel magic.
00:05:13In fact, then we have things like mass restoration.
00:05:16So I have to take in any sort of any negative energy levels or other effects that gets rid of
00:05:22it.
00:05:22Then we have our offensive spell celestial bombardment.
00:05:25Then what we want to do is make sure we have the buffs like mass restoration, excuse me, mass spell
00:05:32resistance.
00:05:33Then also we want to have blessed, which will buff everybody up within a certain radius or up to a
00:05:42certain amount.
00:05:42How many is it?
00:05:43How many?
00:05:43Five.
00:05:44Okay, five.
00:05:45Max caster level 20.
00:05:47So you'll do 20.
00:05:48What does it do?
00:05:49Plus one morale bonus to attack rolls and saves against fear.
00:05:53An additional one per five caster levels.
00:05:55That's four.
00:05:56That's an additional four.
00:05:58So five times four is 20.
00:06:0220th levels maximum.
00:06:04So an additional four plus your one.
00:06:08So it gives you five.
00:06:10You have things like mass cure serious wounds.
00:06:16And mass cure moderate wounds.
00:06:18You notice they have different casting costs.
00:06:22Then you have things like implosion, which does damage.
00:06:26So it is two D three plus six damage per caster level.
00:06:30So I'm 22nd level.
00:06:32So that would, that would be 22 times two D three.
00:06:37So it's a 44 D three plus six.
00:06:44Also the thing you're going to need is you're going to need, of course, also going to want
00:06:49to use death war because that will protect you from, uh, immunity to death spells and effects.
00:06:55Energy drain and 50% absorption gives negative energy damage.
00:06:59Also you want to buff yourself up with divine power.
00:07:01Give everybody else mass shield of faith.
00:07:04That gives you plus two deflection bonus to AC.
00:07:07The bonus is increased one for every six caster levels.
00:07:10I have three.
00:07:10So that's an actual, an additional three.
00:07:14Uh, sorry, one.
00:07:16So is this, so you have two plus an additional three.
00:07:18That's five.
00:07:19Then you have cure critical wounds.
00:07:22And then of course we also have holy smite, which has a radius, which is very good.
00:07:26Make sure you have your potions of cure moderate wounds.
00:07:29And then we have things that make you're stronger.
00:07:32I mean, you're tougher with a bear endurance, but it does.
00:07:35It gives an ally greater vitality and stamina and giving a plus four enhancement bonus to a constitution.
00:07:41What's constitution.
00:07:42It's a stat thing that, uh, determines your constitution.
00:07:47So let's say I have a, let's say they would, let's say it's a 20.
00:07:51They have, and if they have no other buffing effects that are enhancement.
00:07:54That is specifically.
00:07:56You'll add four to that stat.
00:07:59So for every two, it's a, it's a one in the modifier, MOD modifier.
00:08:04And so what happens is your red right there.
00:08:07That's your hit points.
00:08:08That's your health.
00:08:09Blue is the spell points.
00:08:10That's your magical power.
00:08:12Below in the resistances.
00:08:13That's particular type of resistances like acid, like cold, electrical, electricity resistance, fire.
00:08:22And of course, sonic.
00:08:24Then we have our physical resistances and their magical resistances.
00:08:30Now, in terms of building your character, what you'll want to do is you'll want to go to ampersand and
00:08:35go to enhancements.
00:08:38You want to decide what type of, of cleric you want to play.
00:08:41Do you want to be a damaging cleric?
00:08:43That's divine disciple.
00:08:44Do you want to be someone who does mostly healing?
00:08:47You want to do radiant servant, or if you do want to do melee damage, you do a war priest.
00:08:52Also, keep in mind, there's other things you can use in your human tree if you're going human.
00:08:57And I recommend taking such as what I have, like heroism, like things to buff your wisdom.
00:09:03Also to increase your saves and also your constitution.
00:09:07And then finally, also action boost.
00:09:10What action boost will do is, it's a, oh, sorry.
00:09:15This will give you plus 20 action boost to universal spell power for 20 seconds.
00:09:19So this will give you, uh, this will give you more effectiveness for either a physical attack or a spell
00:09:25attack.
00:09:27Now here, I, I grabbed some parts in the physical tree for when I do swing sometimes.
00:09:34And I did grab some for healing.
00:09:36So you want to have some healing as well.
00:09:38But depending on what tree, let's say for me, I'm going to go mostly offensive spell off, uh, magical offensive.
00:09:46So I'm going to be a building into this tree here called divine disciple.
00:09:51You do obviously want to have, I mean, it's debatable if you want to put any points in here or
00:09:56not.
00:09:57But, uh, you do want to have some spell points for sure as a cleric.
00:10:01And then either you're going to go all war priests or war, mostly war priests or mostly divine disciple with
00:10:07some, uh, human splashed in.
00:10:10Now because he's an epic, there is another tree called the epic destinies.
00:10:15Now epic destinies gives you extra abilities for your character.
00:10:20So what happens is you go pick them up and, uh, I'll show you where you'd pick it up, but,
00:10:26uh, you can pick up your trees and you can get things like draconic bloodline, which will give you just
00:10:33as it says, plus one bonus to spell DCs, plus 50 maximum spell points, plus five spell, uh, power associated
00:10:39with your chosen element, whatever it is.
00:10:42And then plus five universal spell bar for anything.
00:10:45Then we have a dragon breath.
00:10:46So that's fire.
00:10:47I chose fire.
00:10:49And we have things like a two in the arcane and then draconic presence.
00:10:53It gives you plus two breath DCs.
00:10:55DC stands for difficulty checks.
00:10:58When they roll for these, if it's a DC check, they have that will add to the DC check.
00:11:03Also exalted angel also does, uh, it does a major, uh, combination of things.
00:11:11So, um, this is, that's healing.
00:11:16And then later on, when you go to your trees here, you can shoot when you pick up the trees,
00:11:22right?
00:11:22At certain levels.
00:11:23There's other things you can pick up too.
00:11:25Like for example, divine crusader, there's other things with smiting you want to have.
00:11:30So you pretty much want to have, according to your build, you want to figure out, okay, how do I
00:11:34want to build a character?
00:11:35And then you'd fill it in accordingly.
00:11:36What I recommend you do is go to DDO wiki and read more about it.
00:11:40Where I do have a limited time.
00:11:42I'm just going to point you to the right direction and give you a general idea of what to do.
00:11:46And then we're going to actually do it.
00:11:48And what we're going to do is once you have all three of these up, our main ones on the
00:11:52bottom.
00:11:53Secondarily is a stuff we use once in a while.
00:11:56And the third is a situational.
00:11:59So, and then, yeah, what we're going to be doing is we're going to be going to that particular place.
00:12:06So we're going to be going over to the place where the sunken sewer is.
00:12:15And so what we're going to be doing is I'm going to jump over here.
00:12:19Note that it's between this archway.
00:12:22A good way to remember it is when you come in or if you go down the stairs, you take
00:12:25a left, you see the hirelings, and you just go straight through this arch.
00:12:29As you're going down, what you're going to do is make sure you pick up the quest from this guy.
00:12:34That's missing in action.
00:12:36And then sunken sewer is from this guy, or this lady actually, or, of course.
00:12:41So from sunken sewer, we go in.
00:12:43But one thing I will recommend is make sure you've got your hirelings handy.
00:12:48Because we're not really dealing too much with evil characters per se, right?
00:12:55So, oops, sorry, I don't want to, technically it will dismount me when I go in, but, yeah.
00:13:10We're going to go through this hatch to sunken sewer.
00:13:14We're going to be doing this on Elite.
00:13:16But this isn't terribly difficult.
00:13:18We just need to understand how to do things.
00:13:20First, we want to get our hirelings out.
00:13:22So, then what we're going to do is we're going to get ones, going to get both of those.
00:13:32What I'm going to do is I'm going to get the buffs up, okay?
00:13:40Then what we're going to be doing is getting everything else up that I need.
00:13:46So, I'll get this one up.
00:13:50Oops.
00:13:52Didn't mean to do that.
00:13:52That would teleport me.
00:13:53Oh, yeah.
00:13:54Teleport me to the other place.
00:13:55We didn't want that.
00:13:56I meant to click on this one, Hero's Feast.
00:13:59When you come back in a dungeon or when you, I believe when you rest, you get the benefit of
00:14:04that.
00:14:08What I would normally have is I would have my main ones here with also healing stuff.
00:14:14I'm going to put everybody on active and we're going to see, okay, this, I could actually pick the lock
00:14:23and go through, but I want to show you just in case you didn't have a one with you.
00:14:27Jump up, jump up, then I think there's something right here, isn't there?
00:14:43No, I just thought it looks like there was.
00:14:54Oh, yeah, okay, yeah, that's, yeah, I kept remembering that there was one hidden there.
00:15:00Pick up your treasure bags.
00:15:02You see treasure bags?
00:15:03Just pick it up.
00:15:04I'm not going to say it each time.

00:15:23Here's what we're going to do.
00:15:25Get your guys behind there, and then what you're going to do is you're going to, oops, I took some
00:15:33damage.
00:15:33That's okay.
00:15:35It's not the end of the world.
00:15:39Notice how that temporary endpoints did its job.
00:15:43We're going to teleport them back here.
00:15:47We're going to have them look for the control box.
00:15:50It should be here somewhere.

00:16:24They like doing some damage, and they're always that nice about it, to be honest.
00:16:34Pick up the treasure bag, obviously.
00:16:36Keep in mind, I'm not always going to tell you every time to pick up the treasure bag.
00:16:42You see it, you have room for it, pick it up, because you can actually trade it in for other
00:16:48items.
00:16:49Now, we have the levers.
00:16:50As you saw me pulling the levers.
00:16:53Notice this was turned down, but this one's not.
00:16:57What does that mean?
00:16:58We have to go to where the other ones are.
00:17:01Okay, gee, where would they be?
00:17:03Look around.
00:17:07Oh, also we see a ladder there with the lever.
00:17:12Our goal is we want to get that bridge to go down.
00:17:28And you see there's a ladder.
00:17:31We want to find out which one of those is associated with that ladder.
00:17:38That brought that down.
00:17:40Very nice.
00:17:41Now we've got to go back.
00:17:44Over.
00:17:45This is why you want them on active.
00:17:48So they can attack them.
00:17:54Jump, jump, jump.

00:18:01The way it works with aggro is they go for the one that does the most damage.
00:18:08But what you want to have them is go for it and just start owning.
00:18:16Gee, they waited right for me.
00:18:18Isn't that nice?
00:18:19They're very considerate.
00:18:20They waited right for me to show up and then start attacking in an ambush.
00:18:25I don't know what the rest of these guys are doing.
00:18:28But, yeah, we'll just own you all.
00:18:34Ownage owned like the scrubs that they are.
00:18:39Now, here's the thing.
00:18:40I don't know where these guys went or what they're thinking.
00:18:44Oh, they went over there and punk owned?
00:18:47Okay, that's fine.

00:19:03We want to get over to that other side, but we can't go directly, so we have to sort of
00:19:07go around.
00:19:13We have these guys.
00:19:16They're a lot of fun.
00:19:20Okay, that's sort of an overkill, but you got the idea.
00:19:24So, as I was saying, use that.
00:19:28Now, what I'm recommending is use that for crowd control.
00:19:31You have two or more.
00:19:33Now, smash these like you mean it.
00:19:44Do you hear that?
00:19:47You have to actually...
00:19:50Now, for this to open, other things have to open.
00:19:55Of course, you don't know that yet, but I'm telling you in advance, so you get an advantage in that.
00:20:01Um, gee, what?

00:20:10If you see the potions, you see things like Sid, Shrine, Onyx.
00:20:15I'm going to pick that up because you can sell it after.
00:20:17Now, we have a valve, and so what we want to do is actually open the valve so we can
00:20:23get past the door.
00:20:25Here, we have a shrine.
00:20:26The blue is to recover your hit points and spell points.
00:20:30The yellow is to resurrect your character.
00:20:32And if you take too long, of course, it will close on you like that.
00:20:37That's okay, and so we're going to continue on.
00:20:42When you're moving through here, assume that there's going to be...
00:20:45Well, I hate to use the word assume.
00:20:47There's going to be a trap or somebody waiting to ambush you on the side here.
00:20:52Because kobolds are famous for that.

00:28:13Now whether or not you think it's asinine or it's cool or whatever it is,
00:28:17whatever adjective you want to use, it is what it is.

00:28:41So because you're the cleric, you want to have the opposite.
00:28:44You want to have a melee guy ready to punk own.
00:28:48And then what's my other thing here?

00:28:59Here's the reason why you should care about the secret doors.
00:29:01It's because a lot of times you can get extra XP.
00:29:05Now, here's the deal.
00:29:05Because I'm way above level.
00:29:07So if you're more than six levels above the actual quest level, you won't get XP.
00:29:13So if you're one level between one and six, you'll get it.
00:29:16One to six levels above, you'll get it.
00:29:18But it will be deductions.
00:29:20See, the base XP is 1145.
00:29:22If I get enough of the smashables or any of these other bonus ones, it gives me a percentage of
00:29:27the base.
00:29:28So, for example, 10% of this.
00:29:30But because I'm getting zero, 10% of zero is still zero.
00:29:34And so that's how that works.
00:29:41Okay, here we go.
00:29:42So we're just going to snipe it.
00:29:48What you want to do is check your map.
00:29:50See where you haven't been.
00:29:52And see where the scrubs are.
00:29:54Notice we have a collectible.
00:29:56Go pick that up.
00:29:58A lot of times it's sparkling, so it's kind of making itself known what it is.
00:30:03So what we're going to do is we're going to go where we haven't been and check it out.
00:30:12Done.
00:30:14Then you win.
