00:00So this is a review of the DJI pocket 3. So the reason why I got this was needed a
00:05new vlogging
00:06setup and knowing that the DJI pocket 3 came in with a nice one inch sensor. This was actually a
00:14no-brainer. So ever since we got this we've been using it constantly. Definitely use it at night.
00:19I like that it's a motorized gimbal so you could get those nice fluid gimbal shots and the fact
00:24that it's a nice small has a nice small form factor. I actually ended up getting the creator
00:31combo because it comes with many different attachments. Actually the audio on this thing
00:37right now is on the DJI mic 2. So nice versatile lav. It has a magnetic back so you could
00:47clip it
00:47onto your clothes. It has a you could put the magnet in the back and then this in the front
00:53or you could clip it. It has a clip on. I always use it. I use the DJI mic for
00:58all these reviews so
00:58if you notice the sound quality on this thing has a nice pickup pattern
01:04versus the onboard camera mic which we're going to switch to right now. This is what the camera mic
01:11sounds like and this is what the audio from the DJI mic 2 sounds like. The mic actually pairs up
01:19to the Pocket 3 so as you're vlogging if you don't want any ambient noises the mic picks it up
01:28pretty
01:28well. This is the unit. Nice and compact. Fits in your hand like this without any attachments so
01:36the so there's a couple of attachments that we're going to add on later so it kind of adds a
01:40little
01:40bit of length to it and and some height so depending on the application but without this without any
01:46add-ons this is what it looks like. Very small form factor. Nice build quality. It has a nice
01:52touchscreen. Two inch touchscreen which rotates. It has a an extender so it has a usb to it to the
02:00extender. All you gotta do is just depress this. Two different attachments. This is the battery. This is
02:05the battery is rated at 950 milliamp and this is just the extender. So as you could see two size
02:17differences
02:19and then has a screw at the bottom of both of these. The actual unit does not have a screw
02:27so if you're
02:28gonna need to screw on a tripod leg you're gonna need one of these attachments and that's how it goes
02:34on.
02:36Clips on both sides. Whenever you see it just press this.
02:43And this is the tripod that comes tripod leg that comes within.
02:48Sits on your table just like that. If you wanted some height to it switch it out to the
02:54extendable battery. It's actually an extendable battery grip. So as we were saying extender right here
03:05actually you could get a battery info
03:10on the screen when it's plugged in. It actually tells you how much battery you have in this grip
03:15and how much battery is left in this and in the pocket unit and how much it's charging. So this
03:21is
03:21with the battery grip attached to it. So as you could see getting some nice height to it. Perfect for
03:26table
03:26setups. We've done many different walking shots with these. So just place it at the bottom on the
03:33side of the road, footpath, sidewalk and just kind of tilt up your gimbal to a certain height. Kind of
03:39do those walking shots or you can approach the camera in a certain way. Yeah so feel like very
03:44versatile setup. I've been really pleased with this but continuing on with what else you get in the
03:53creative combo. You get this nice little hard case which has two magnetic slots inside which
04:01holds two attachments. They're both magnetic. One is the wide angle lens that comes with the creative
04:08combo and then there's a black promise that you could add separately by separately and they actually
04:15snap on to the camera face. Very easy to take on and off magnetic magnetic style and the fact that
04:25it
04:25stays together with your hard case. Super helpful. Just snaps right on.
04:34There you go. Does not come off. You also get a camera strap. This strap on the side here. I
04:42have not
04:42had the need to use this but it comes with it. And a nice carrying case that fits everything inside.
04:50So
04:50your camera unit, extra battery, tripod, this shell cover and a camera strap. So right now
05:01we're going to turn the unit on and it's actually going to start picking up the audio from my mic
05:09here.
05:10It's going to pair on.
05:13And that's how the gimbal turns on. So one thing that I like is actually it supports a micro
05:19SD card. So currently we have a 64 gig micro SD card. It goes in the slot in the side
05:28right here.
05:40And what we're going to do is we're going to do a little test on this gimbal and what it
05:44looks like.
05:45So there's different functionalities to this. It has a 5D joystick which you could control
05:51the gimbal with. Up, down, right, left. And actually you could press this thing inside. So if you double
05:58tap it, gimbal strains out. If you happen to have it at a certain angle, if you double click it,
06:03it will always level out horizontally. So that's pretty helpful. You could get a nice horizontal
06:10shots with these. So you could view your shot on this two inch touch screen or you could also turn
06:18this inwards and you could set it up to shoot vertical videos. Currently I have it set it to
06:24vertical horizontal videos only. So even in this mode, it's shooting horizontally. But you could also
06:30set it up to shoot vertical. It picks up sound on all these different sides. You have your record
06:35button here. And yeah, it's very, very easy to operate. You can shoot 4k 120 frames per second.
06:43It has DJI's log, which is D log. So you could shoot in that as well. It has 10 bit
06:50color,
06:51so more than a billion colors. So, you know, you're going to have those nice, rich, vibrant colors
06:56and easier to sync. If you have a, let's say a mirrorless setup, a mirrorless camera that shoots 10 bit,
07:04this one shoots 10 bit, so you know your colors are going to match or you're able to match it
07:10similarly. So we're going to switch over to the gimbal right now.
07:16There you go. So this is the, what the gimbal is shooting right now. As you can see, it has
07:25a nice
07:26follow pattern. You could do different settings once you go in. You could do it to track you,
07:33follow you. It has a nice feel of view as well. So this is my arm fully stretched out.
07:41That's how much it goes out to. But if I wanted a wider feel of view, let's put on this
07:50wide angle right here. I do have to clean it a little bit, but let's see. That's a wide angle.
07:59So as you could see, a good amount of view on that wide angle lens. Take it off. So take
08:07it off from
08:07the side. So the DJI Pocket 3 has been a great addition to our vlogging setup. We've been using a
08:15lot of fit at night because of its one inch sensor. So if you guys are going to get this,
08:20would definitely recommend this. It's been a great purchase.
