00:00Most Vivo and IQ years have already received the origin OS update but some budget phones
00:05are still waiting for it.
00:07Now since the Vivo T4X has already received the origin OS update, today we are going to
00:13talk about how it actually performs and how it impact battery life.
00:18It's been almost a month since the phone got the update so we have had enough time to properly
00:23test it.
00:24So let's start the review.
00:25The first instruction we have with any phone is always the lock screen.
00:30So let's begin there.
00:31Looking at the lock screen changes, the depth effect now feels more refined and looks much
00:36better compared to Funtouch OS.
00:38And it's not just that, now you can change the clock font style and its color.
00:44You can also add new widgets directly to the lock screen which is a nice addition.
00:49Customization options are limited compared to the mid-range and the flagship phones.
00:54Now talking about lock screen themes, you will get 3 new lock screen themes and in the classic
01:00section you can also find some new themes.
01:03However, themes are limited and also that glassy blur effect, the iOS like clock style is also
01:10missing on the budget devices.
01:12Maybe Vivo is trying to save battery life or maybe they just want to maintain a difference
01:17between budget and mid-range phones.
01:19So, these are some lock screen features you won't get with the origin OS update on budget
01:25phones.
01:26Next, we move to the password screen where you will notice a very minimal blur with a slight
01:31glass effect.
01:32Nothing as intense as on flagship devices.
01:35After unlocking on the home screen, there is an option called Show Background.
01:39When you enable it, it brings up the dog bar.
01:42You can also swipe left to right to access the private space from dog bar.
01:47And there is also a new 4x7 upgrade layout.
01:51For folders, you now get a few new customization styles which you can already see on the screen.
01:58The blur only appears when you open a folder otherwise there is no blur.
02:02Now, talking about animations, opening and closing apps feels more smoother than Funtouch OS.
02:08But the blur intensity is very minimal compared to mid-range and flagship devices.
02:13In a recent apps panel, you also get an iOS style layout option.
02:18And again, the blur while switching apps is kept very light.
02:22This could be because heavier blur needs more power and it can affect battery.
02:28So, keeping it minimal here actually makes sense, especially on the budget devices.
02:33Now coming to the QS panel, there are two styles, merged and separated.
02:38In the separated style, the quick settings and notification panel are split and it feels
02:43similar to an iOS style layout.
02:46The merged style on the other end is more like One UI kind of inspired by it.
02:50You can also customize which toggles appear here.
02:53And there are connection related options that show connected devices directly in the QS panel.
02:59Moving to the volume panel, the design has changed as you can see on the screen.
03:04One thing I noticed, when you are watching a video like on YouTube, the volume panels stay
03:09in the normal expanded style.
03:11But when the video is playing in the background, it switches to a slimmer style while adjusting
03:17volume.
03:18This behavior is similar to what we have seen in iOS, Oxygen or the ColorOS, but it still
03:24needs some refinement since it doesn't work consistently across all the apps.
03:30If you expand the volume panel, you get full controls, including switching between sound,
03:35vibrate and silent modes.
03:37And you can also adjust individual apps volume from there.
03:41And there are liquid style things remain same as the homescreen here too.
03:46Minimal and as needed.
03:47Not much powerful as flagship and it makes sense as I said.
03:52So with the mass security update, Vivo has also enabled double liquid glass effect into
03:59the sidebar, volume panel and the notifications.
04:02Also you can see the bounce effect into the clip setting too.
04:06From the navigation field, if you swipe up toward the top left, you can open apps in free from
04:13window.
04:13It works like PIP.
04:15You can move and resize it as needed.
04:18For split screen, access it from the recent panel.
04:21One useful addition is screenshot.
04:24You can capture the top app, the bottom app or the full screen while in split mode.
04:30In the app drawer, there is no new changes.
04:34Maybe you can find some new widgets on the widget section.
04:38And the setting UI is redesigned.
04:40It feels more refined and cleaner compared to the Funtouch OS.
04:44So yeah, that's pretty much it for the video changes.
04:48Now let's talk about the feature they have added.
04:50First one is office kit.
04:51Basically it lets you connect your phone with your PC.
04:54If you often use your phone with your computer, this can actually be helpful.
04:58Now coming to the privacy features.
05:00The first one is blank data authorization.
05:04So you know how much apps are asking for the permission like contacts and messages and
05:09all that.
05:10With this feature, you can allow the permission but it still hides your actual data.
05:14You just turn on the toggle and instead of real data, the system sends blank data to the
05:19application.
05:20So yeah, apps work normally but your data stays safe.
05:22Honestly, I feel like it's more useful for the system apps especially the Vivo apps because
05:27they are asking so many unnecessary permissions sometimes.
05:30So sometimes this feels like third party apps are very privacy focused instead of the system
05:35apps.
05:36Next one is the scam guard.
05:37The name okay I guess I mean could have been better.
05:40What it does, whenever you are screen recording or screen sharing, it hides all your sensitive
05:45stuff like incoming calls, notifications, social media apps, payment apps, even sidebar and
05:50floating windows.
05:51Everything gets hidden.
05:52So basically your screen stays clean.
05:55Your data doesn't get exposed while sharing your screen or recording your screen.
05:59And the private space is like completely separated isolated space inside your phone.
06:05You can keep your social media, payment apps or any sensitive files there.
06:08Everything inside it is hidden and only accessible by you.
06:12So this is all the privacy related features.
06:14Now let's talk about bypass charging.
06:17So the Vivo T4X already support bypass charging at the hardware level but the option wasn't
06:22available in the software before with the phone touch wise actually.
06:25And this feature is actually useful especially for the gaming.
06:28Now with Origin OS they have finally added it.
06:31Honestly it took quite some time almost 10 to 11 months even though the hardware already
06:36supported it from the launch.
06:38But yeah at least it's here now.
06:40And it's not just this phone.
06:42Some V series devices also had the same situation.
06:45Hardware support was there but the feature come later with Origin OS.
06:49Now coming to the always on display.
06:51There are some new AOD styles added which you can see on the screen.
06:55But since this is the LCD panel it not a true always on display.
07:00And that makes sense also.
07:02Still it's good they didn't skip this feature completely.
07:05Now if you're talking about the AI feature.
07:08In the gallery honestly nothing new added here.
07:11They have just refined the existing feature.
07:13And same with the AI writing tools.
07:15And same with the other AI features.
07:18They have added some new AI features on the Vivo dog reader.
07:23While exploring sound and vibration I found a new option called super audio resolution.
07:28But honestly after turning it on and off I didn't notice any difference.
07:33It pretty much sound the same either way.
07:36Now let's talk about Origin OS stand.
07:38It's actually has a lot of features like it can suggest a contact suggestion.
07:43Then there is a drag and go which is very useful and smart.
07:46You can drag any photos and directly share it anywhere.
07:49Even on Twitter you can long press on the profile or post and send it directly.
07:54And the same way works for the contacts as well.
07:57So it can understand like what is the specific thing you are trying to share.
08:02Like it is photo, it is contacts or something else.
08:05So yeah it's smart way to share things quickly.
08:08And you can also get live updates like music, incoming calls and file sharing, screen recording, audios.
08:14So overall a lot of things are handled here.
08:17And even on the budget phone it can manage two or three updates at the same time.
08:21So yeah it's a very useful features.
08:24Now let's talk about viewer doc master AI feature.
08:27First thing this AI feature only work inside viewer doc master.
08:30If you open the file in any other reader they won't work.
08:34But the interesting part is even inside doc master they are not working properly.
08:38First we tried it on our local newspaper pdf.
08:41Since it wasn't in English we thought maybe it's a language support issue.
08:45So then we tested it on the English pdf.
08:48But still the AI feature didn't work.
08:50And another strange thing.
08:51Whenever we select text instead of triggering AI feature it actives drag and go.
08:56So maybe we thought we were doing something wrong.
08:58Then we checked the community on telegram.
09:01And many users are saying the same thing.
09:03These AI features are simply not working.
09:06Which honestly shouldn't be the case.
09:08Because originOS has already pushed 6 and 7 updates after releasing on viewer 24x.
09:14And the main issue is those features are limited only to viewer doc master.
09:19They should also be available through the sidebar or somewhere else.
09:23When exploring the sidebar we found a new AI feature for extracting images and the text.
09:28Text extraction works almost everywhere.
09:30But image extraction only works well in simple cases where images are easy to detect.
09:35In complex situations like pdfs, word documents or very small images.
09:40It becomes inconsistent and can miss results.
09:43Since 3 features already overlap here.
09:45Circle to just drag and go and this extraction.
09:48The image extraction part needs a clearer and separate approach.
09:52Same with the text extraction.
09:54But you need to find your own way to use this feature.
09:57That's a simple idea.
09:58And finally after a lot of complaints.
10:01Vivo bring us rotation button into the originOS with a mass security update.
10:08Which is actually a good step.
10:09Now coming to battery performance hitting lag and UI stability.
10:13With the initial originOS update on the viewer 24x.
10:16There were some lag and performance drops.
10:18But after around 6 to 8 updates things are stable now.
10:22Battery life is almost the same as Fanta choice.
10:25Earlier on the Fanta choice with enter to version 11.
10:28We got around 11 lakh score.
10:30Right now on originOS we are getting around 8 lakh enter to score.
10:35But that's mainly because storage was almost empty earlier.
10:39And now only about 20 to 30 GB is left.
10:42So this doesn't mean performance has dropped.
10:45Performance feel the same in daily use.
10:47UI stability is also good.
10:48And overall the experience feel more refined than the Fanta choice.
10:52Also we made a video on the Vivo 24 Pro review.
10:55Where you can see like a lot of originOS feature available.
10:58And there is a slightly feature cutting.
11:00If you compare to the flagship devices.
11:02So if you compare directly budget to flagship devices.
11:05There is no major feature cutting.
11:07It's like a one or more.
11:09And mostly hardware related feature cutting.
11:12Not a higher level.
11:13And they give us double liquid glass effect.
11:16Instead of making full user interface.
11:19With you know that liquid glass effect.
11:20And if you see a major cutting.
11:22Then it's in into the AI feature.
11:25Like which is a simply marketing trick.
11:27So this is actually great.
11:29Like there is no major feature cutting.
11:31From the flagship devices to budget devices.
11:34So that's all about this originOS on budget phone.
11:38Now tell me your opinion.
11:40Your suggestions into the comment section.
11:42Like what you think in all kind of stuff.
11:44And if you found this helpful.
11:47Then you can like share and subscribe.
11:49And that's it.
11:50Such a mouth.
11:51Jai Jai.
