00:00The 450 line-up with this last-chance qualifier.
00:04And aboard the heartbeat hot sauce, Nano Extreme Yamaha,
00:08Cole Thompson on the 66.
00:10He gets the bonus $1,000 with thanks to Rocky Mountain ATV MC.
00:15And if he makes the main, Cole will get another $1,000.
00:18So it could be a very productive and profitable occasion.
00:25We will see Kyle Chisholm narrowly missed out
00:29on making the main just straight through.
00:32It's terrific to have Chisholm back.
00:33He has retired from full-time racing,
00:36but back for these last few Supercross events, which is awesome.
00:39And Cade Clayson, this is his last season racing professional.
00:42He's had a great career.
00:46Last-chance qualifier. Here we go.
00:50Who gets the best start?
00:52Come on, you know.
00:53Grant Harlan.
00:54Yep.
00:55Look at that. Nicely done.
00:56Tristan Lane on the 7-11.
00:59Then Cole Thompson is nicely in the mix.
01:01Kyle Chisholm on the 11.
01:03And Cade Clayson.
01:04Cade was dynamic through the whoops yesterday
01:06in the Pulp MX Privateer Challenge.
01:09He was awesome.
01:10That got him the win.
01:11That's where he was the strongest.
01:13Yeah, he was really good.
01:14It was kind of around the same time for these guys.
01:16So, yeah, they're like,
01:18let's just replay what we did yesterday.
01:20Absolutely.
01:20I mean, he was making up so much time there,
01:23and I anticipate him to do the same thing right now.
01:26Obviously, not so much.
01:29Nice pass by Cole Thompson just right up the inside.
01:32But great riding by Cole Thompson to be aware of his surroundings
01:36and Cade Clayson and not squeezing him out too much.
01:41Tell us more, JT.
01:43Well, guys, just not only did Cade Clayson go out
01:45and win that LCQ Challenge,
01:46but he also announced his retirement on Thursday.
01:49So this will be his last official Monster Supercross race ever.
01:53And you know he wants to go out making that main event.
01:56Yeah, go out.
01:57I mean, it looks good right now.
01:59Probably look back, saw that number 11, Kyle Chisholm.
02:02And we know how good Kyle is his whole career,
02:05but especially with these LCQs,
02:07he needed to get a little bit of insurance.
02:09Yeah, Scott Mischi up there.
02:15Moran's main event.
02:16Moran's coming through.
02:18Kevin did well in that privateer challenge yesterday as well.
02:22Well, one little slip up, too.
02:24I mean, next thing you know,
02:26you've got three guys on your rear tire.
02:29Cole Thompson trying to make a move here,
02:33trying to find alternate lines to get by.
02:36You do not want to be in that fourth position,
02:38and the reason is because you have to ride so defensive for the guy in fifth
02:42to not make a pass.
02:44And when you end up riding defensive,
02:46that actually slows you down a lot more times than not.
02:49So, difficult spot.
02:51Yeah, very difficult.
02:52And these guys race with each other pretty much every weekend in this scenario,
02:55so you know what you're about to get.
02:58You know, it's kind of all hands on deck at this point.
03:02So, you know it's coming if you're in that fourth spot.
03:06So, for Cade Clayson, who we've been heaping praise on for not only what he did yesterday
03:11in the Pulp MX privateer challenge, but over the course of his career.
03:15Let's round it out, Cade, with a nice number.
03:19That would be 70.
03:20If he stays where he is and gets to the main event, there would be 70 main events.
03:26Nice pass, Kevin Moran's on Chiz.
03:28Moran's had a ton of speed.
03:30Oh, he's down!
03:32Makes that brilliant move, and then drops it.
03:35Yeah, got a little throttle happy.
03:37I believe they're coming out of the corner.
03:39Grabs a handful of throttle.
03:40The rear tire spins out on the face of the takeoff of that double.
03:45Easy mistake to make.
03:46Happens to the best in the business.
03:47Yeah, I think what he did when he made that pass on Chisholm right here,
03:51I think he starts blocking that inside, thinking maybe Kyle will come back,
03:55gets in there, which obviously changes his angle.
03:57He's a little too far on the inside, still tries to double.
04:00You can see how far he was back in, got over that rut.
04:02Just ever so slightly, right?
04:05That was it.
04:08So, there will not be one more main event in the Supercross portion of the season
04:14for Kevin Moran's.
04:16But for his team, the Champion Tool Storage KTM Racing Team,
04:21his teammate, Grant Harlan.
04:22This will be the sixth time this year that Grant's converted
04:25a last-chance qualifier into a main event appearance.
04:29Scott Meschie's got around Kyle Chisholm right here.
04:35You let your eyes walk down that graphic on the left-hand side
04:38to see Justin Bogle back.
04:41So, he came back, then unfortunately had a crash.
04:45At St. Louis.
04:46Yeah, and then had to have some time away again before coming back.
04:49So, good to see him back, but he's a little further back than where he would like to be.
04:53Yeah, we don't know if he's a bad start maybe going down, but really impressive.
04:56The first race he came back, he made the main event.
04:59So, you've got to think with his speed, something happened with him.
05:03I've got to tell you, man, like this season overall is this is the final race of the Supercross portion
05:10of the SMX World Championship.
05:12And I just feel like, in general, the racing and the parity and the level of competition
05:18has been so close all season long.
05:22And we talk about starts and how start-dependent these races are.
05:26I mean, you take a guy like Grant Harlan.
05:28He's out here winning.
05:29Why?
05:30Because he's riding good, first and foremost.
05:32But at the same time, he got a great start.
05:34It's so hard to make up time when you're running the same lap times.
05:38And that's been the case for a lot of guys, whether it's the 250 class and the mains
05:42and the heats, as well as the 450s.
05:45Yep.
05:46Grant was generous with his time the other day as well as Kevin Morans.
05:51They both participated in the Rocky Mountain ATV MC St. Jude's SMX Charity Golf Day.
05:59Played at the Eaglewood Golf Course on Thursday, which was a really fun day out and raised.
06:05More than $100,000 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
06:10It was a great day out.
06:12Cole Thompson, aboard his Heartbeat Hot Sauce Yamaha, is in the fourth and final transfer position.
06:21Which means, fellas, he gets a bonus $1,000 if he stays there.
06:25Nice.
06:26Hit the finish line.
06:27Like, check, please.
06:28Yes.
06:28Grant in his hand.
06:31Inside the final two laps in this last LCQ of the year, the Supercross portion of the
06:36SMX World Championship.
06:38He's got this on lock.
06:40Cole Thompson has a ton of experience.
06:42And you can tell he's just riding it into the finish line right here, as expected.
06:48Like that?
06:48I'd like to say easy money.
06:50Easy money.
06:51That's right.
06:51Margin's going up right here, especially with that extra $1,000.
06:55Yep.
06:55Oh, love it.
06:57Price per lap just went up.
07:00Check, please.
07:01I mentioned earlier about Grant Harlan converting more than a handful of times this year from
07:06the LCQ into the main.
07:08But it's been more than a year since he's won a last chance qualifier.
07:12That was Philly last year.
07:13So this will feel pretty good.
07:15Through the whoops for the final time.
07:17Danger Boy Deegan is getting ready for his final appearance aboard a 250 before he steps
07:24up to the Premier Class for the Pro Motocross Championship.
07:27Well done, Grant Harlan.
07:28Gets the win.
07:30See you in the main event.
07:32Nicely done.
07:33Tristan Lane is through.
07:34Kate Clayson got $25,000 yesterday.
07:36And he gets his 70th main event appearance just ahead of Cole Thompson.
07:42Well done to those four athletes.
07:45Nicely done.
07:46And a nice way to round out the Supercross portion of the season.
