00:00And Roxa looked pretty strong through those sections earlier today.
00:03Well, he did.
00:04And one thing about Ken, he's always been really good at this,
00:07and that's throttle control and precision with the throttle
00:10in situations where the track might be slick
00:15and you need to have that discipline with the throttle,
00:18put that power to the ground.
00:20Man, he is an absolute expert at that.
00:22Good to see Christian Craig back on the 28.
00:26Big first turn crash in a heat race last week.
00:28Broke some fingers, but he rode Presté.
00:31I talked to him after that.
00:33Here's the crash from a week ago.
00:35Watch the 28.
00:37He said he's feeling all right, actually, despite this.
00:40There was nothing he could do right there.
00:43Jason Anderson got caught up behind Justin Hill
00:47and just went straight into Christian Craig.
00:50Yeah, that was a bad sign there.
00:51But once Craig rode yesterday, he said he's feeling fine.
00:54I said, how bad is it?
00:55He's like, you could even ride in this much pain.
00:58And I'm like, well, if I could do it, you could do it.
01:00So he must be about 100%, I'd say, on his scale.
01:05And then Jordan Smith finally getting a chance to race his triumph.
01:08450 missed the first six races coming back from shoulder surgery, RC.
01:13Great to have Jordan back.
01:14And, you know, I think just go out there, get all the laps, and learn that 450.
01:21Learn what these guys are doing and just enjoy the moment of being back lined up behind that gate.
01:27Long time.
01:28Yeah.
01:28250 rider in this series, getting his shot now, finally, on a factory 450.
01:35See how he does there as triumph looks to make a little history here.
01:38They did have Austin Forkner on the bike earlier in the campaign.
01:41He's out injured.
01:43So the number 20 will pick it up from here.
01:45Let's go racing.
01:47450, heat one.
01:54Roxy going to try the inside.
01:56Going to lead Anderson, Verandas, Craig, and more.
02:00Absolutely love that drone shot on the start.
02:03And, man, look at that gap that Kenny's able to make.
02:07Triple tripling.
02:08Doesn't elect to do the quad going into that corner.
02:12Craig making the move on Verandas.
02:14Then Verandas fights back in the whoops.
02:17Verandas tries to, but Craig has the advantage on the inside.
02:23His two seem to find each other.
02:25Even going back to their 250 days.
02:28There's been some close battling.
02:30We saw it even earlier this season between them.
02:32Verandas going to run it in deep.
02:34Oh, nice pass by Verandas.
02:36Up the inside, making zero contact.
02:41Yeah, that was actually very nice considering.
02:43That was a really good pass by Dylan there.
02:46Great to see Dylan up front.
02:48But it's the Suzuki boys.
02:49One, two right now.
02:50The progressive Suzuki of Roxen.
02:52The twisted tee Suzuki of Anderson.
02:55They are teammates, just different sponsors there.
02:57And see if Verandas, as he and Craig go for the quad.
03:02Oh, Malcolm Stewart on the scene.
03:04Quick pass on Justin Cooper.
03:05Yeah, he sneaks up the inside.
03:07I don't believe that Justin Cooper was anticipating that.
03:11Malcolm came out of nowhere.
03:13And, man, was this guy rolling earlier today.
03:16And Malcolm's starting to feel a little bit better from that injury he had at the season opener in Anaheim.
03:23And I expect that he's going to continue to get better.
03:26And it's great to see him ride well.
03:29Verandas on the Red Bull.
03:30Troy Lee designs.
03:31Duponti battling.
03:32And how about this?
03:33Anderson battling Roxen now.
03:35Alhombre came to play today here in Arlington.
03:39Love to see it.
03:40This is a previous Supercross champion.
03:45That's right.
03:45And his best qualifying effort of the season with fourth.
03:48So he's been feeling it from the afternoon.
03:51See if he can get a run on Roxen.
03:53It's a battle for ninth with Smith in tenth.
03:56Trying to get around Vince Freezy.
03:59Smith tried to quad there.
04:00Smith coming up short on the quad.
04:01That was a nice save.
04:04Getting a good run here.
04:06Jordan got a bad start.
04:07Kind of got bottled up there in the first corner.
04:10He was way behind.
04:11Played it safe the first couple laps.
04:13He shouldn't have a problem.
04:15Uh-oh.
04:16Ryder ahead.
04:17Might have been Noren.
04:18That's a free position right there.
04:20So.
04:21Yep.
04:23Noren loses the front.
04:24Goes down on the gizmo Yamaha.
04:26And the battle continues to be Freezy and Smith.
04:30And between Roxen and Anderson.
04:32It'll be really important for Kenny to have a good run here tonight.
04:36And kind of a heartbreak situation last week in Seattle.
04:41Towards the end of that race.
04:42Him and Hunter Lawrence colliding.
04:44He lost a lot of points.
04:45He's 11 points out of the lead now.
04:49Wasn't able to get his bike fired back up quick enough.
04:52And if he could come out here, get on the podium, salvage some points, that would be huge.
04:58Because he has done a great job all season long.
05:01Man, Malcolm Stewart on the gas here.
05:03Well, Malcolm was the fastest guy on the track last lap at a 49-4.
05:09Absolutely.
05:10Rolling, Will.
05:12Yeah, and you said it earlier, Ricky.
05:13He's only going to get better and better.
05:15And that's what Malcolm told me yesterday.
05:17He did actually manage to get two days on the bike this week here.
05:21And last week as well.
05:22And he said that's made all the difference.
05:24Because right now what he's battling is the strength in that shoulder.
05:27And how he explained it to me was that that leads to trust.
05:30He said I need to be able to trust it.
05:32And the stronger it gets, the more I can trust it.
05:34We talk about what a strong rider he is.
05:36But coming out of injury, it's incredibly impressive that he's doing it.
05:39And he also explained that he's having to kind of adjust his riding.
05:42He did that core injury.
05:43Now he's having to adjust back to a lot going on from Malcolm's trip.
05:47But he looks very competitive here today.
05:49No doubt about that as he goes after Craig, who's on the quad lock Honda.
05:53Knives up the inside.
05:54And not too far away for those leaders.
05:57No.
05:58Roxanne and Anderson.
05:59Anderson definitely keeping Kenny honest right here.
06:05And man, these rhythm lanes are huge.
06:07Particularly this one.
06:09And Kenny is going through right here again.
06:11And triple, triple, quad.
06:13If you miss that quad, because you're so high and it's so far, it is going to be dirty.
06:21Precision these guys have.
06:23They've been perfect all night long.
06:25JT, what you got for about Roxanne?
06:27Just watching these two go at it.
06:28I was trying to think when the last time I saw two Suzuki's battling at the front of a race.
06:34You know, one of the most heralded OEMs in sports history.
06:38This may be 2009.
06:40Think about Chad Reed from Brian Dungeon.
06:41He made a couple of 450 appearances.
06:43It has been a long time, Jason, since we have seen some yellow magic.
06:46Do we see a battle between Malcolm and Dylan heating up?
06:48Oh, I love Malcolm making that inside after the mechanics area work to his advantage.
06:56That is great.
06:57That was an awesome pass by Malcolm Stewart.
07:00That line developing nicely here in this 450 heat.
07:06Look at it.
07:08Full sin.
07:08These guys are unbelievable what they're able to do on the X-Men team these days.
07:13Jumping, what, 80-plus feet?
07:16You don't want to do part of that?
07:17No.
07:18You want to do part of that?
07:19Man, Anderson will just not go away with Roxen.
07:23And Malcolm is only 1.8 off the lead despite the bad start.
07:28He keeps rolling.
07:29We could have a three-rider fight before it's over.
07:31I think we have it.
07:32Here's Malcolm.
07:33I mean, this is incredible what Malcolm's been able to do in a short amount of time.
07:37I mean, the intensity is always high in these heat races.
07:42For him to be able to reel these guys in, it's fantastic.
07:46He's improved so much in the last week or two.
07:50Sixth in the main last week.
07:51Yeah, that huge heat race crash.
07:52We thought he might have been done for the night.
07:54Oh, yeah.
07:55Comes back to get sixth in the main on a tough track, Malcolm.
07:57And further advancing, as is Anderson, looking for a running room now on Roxen.
08:05Malcolm was really fast in the whoop section and has been all day.
08:09Now he's able to do that.
08:11I mean, he comes out of that corner, triples, and just sends it into the whoop's incredible whoop entry speed.
08:18All right, here's Anderson going to give it another try.
08:20Look at that inside line.
08:23Got to go over that table.
08:26So you lose a little bit when you come off the takeoff of that first tabletop.
08:31But then you gain the time about halfway to three-quarters of the way through the rhythm lane
08:36because you're able to get off sequence and stay lower and drive through the rhythm lane.
08:41Is he one of the first you've seen use that line like that, that inside line?
08:45Yeah.
08:45I saw him doing it in press day yesterday, a lot of the riders.
08:49And it's great to see that it's finally coming to work out.
08:51See the whoop entry speed by Malcolm.
08:53It might pay off R.C.
08:57Anderson able to hold him off.
08:59Checkered flag is out.
09:01Roxton holds on.
09:02Great racing between all three of them.
09:05It looks like Perandas will come through next.
09:08Craig and Cooper.
09:10Disappointing ride.
09:11They're ending up in sixth.
09:13That is 55.
09:15Keep going.
09:15Keep going.
09:15Keep going.
09:16Keep going.
09:16Keep going.
09:16Keep going.
