01:20Yeah, but as you mentioned earlier in that breakdown in the corners
01:23it's going to make it a little bit difficult for Kenny to pass
01:26What he's got to do is try to square up Justin
01:28maybe get up to the inside of Justin

01:38It's going to be very interesting to see how much time he can make up on Hunter Lawrence
01:44and man, this is no surprise James
01:46when it comes to this part of the season
01:49we only got four races to go
01:51and the guys that are in first and second in the points championship
01:54are running 1-2 right now
01:56Yeah, just that intensity level of what they're racing for
01:58not saying the other guys aren't
02:00but it just brings that heat up
02:01and the difference between last weekend and this weekend
02:05Kenny was in the opposite position where Hunter was
02:07so maybe this will free him up a little bit
02:09he has a chance to go out there and try to chase the number 96

02:59they're going at about less than 15 miles an hour here

03:04third gear up to almost 60 miles an hour in that short span there
03:08yeah wide open pull and a tear off
03:10that just shows you how controlled these guys are
03:12but I talked to my brother between the race
03:14he felt really comfortable here
03:15I think with the fans being up here
03:17in the dog pound here in Cleveland
03:18I'm sure he's got a lot of motivation
03:20as he slides up to inside of Jorge
03:23Jorge did a good job of getting out of that section
03:25yeah and you can see the corners
03:26like we showed you guys coming off that break right here
03:30it just like James said it makes it so difficult
03:32when it's just one big bull turn
03:34and you don't have multi lines
03:37very very difficult to pass
03:40let's not forget about the resilience of the 27
03:44Malcolm Stewart started this year with a broken scapula
03:47and still rode under that injury
03:49look at that for a quick switchback
03:51and Prado knows that he's all over him
03:53yeah I like that for a passing opportunity
03:56if you can get that corner right
03:57it makes the guy have to decide on this next corner
04:00after the mechanics there go to inside or outside
04:02you might be able to slide up the inside
04:03so yeah you'll see these guys slide the rear end of their bike
04:07out very early in the corner to try to get a good drive down
04:11really that's their only opportunity to make a pass in a corner
04:17there are two riders that both have one podium each this year
04:21they're in search of their second
04:23and you're talking about a guy who's a multi-time motocross world
04:27champion but he is still learning his way on supercross here in the United States
04:32the Spaniard is doing better every time now
04:36oh there goes Malcolm again
04:38trying to get him what you're saying Jorge's slowing down
04:41so Malcolm can't cut underneath
04:42eventually he keeps doing that he's going to get that pass
04:46I think Malcolm do you think he's going to run out of patience if this continues to carry on James

05:00so Malcolm Stewart is in search of his first top five in a triple crown race this year

05:24there's absolutely no settle at all in your brother James as you know

05:30he's kind of in a different situation to so many of these guys out here
05:33because here we are we set with four rounds to go
05:36attrition sets in
05:37they're deep into their season
05:38but for Malcolm after the injury lead that you talked about recovering from
05:42he said he's still on the up
05:43his trajectory is still kind of like racing into this season
05:47so he said I'm on the way up
05:48everybody else is kind of where they are
05:50and he felt very positive about his situation today
05:52yeah no I agree with that
05:54and also brought the kids so you know when they show up
05:57Uncle Mal has to show up as well
05:59as Cooper Webb makes the pass around Jorge Prado
06:01but go back a few weekends ago
06:03I was waiting to see what would happen between Jorge and Cooper Webb
06:06remember Ricky they got into it
06:07but clean pass and Cooper is on his way
06:10yeah Cooper Webb was really fast earlier today
06:13in time qualifying practice
06:15one of the front runners for sure
06:17he just falling victim of a bad start here early
06:21and it's so hard to make up that track position
06:25when you don't get a good start

07:12but you just wonder the emotions that he's feeling here

07:17he has to hop on an airplane
07:19but he looks pretty focused here
07:21you know he's still chasing this championship
07:22a lot of people counted him out
07:24he's 20 plus points down
07:25but a guy like Cooper Webb is never going to give in until it's over
07:29he finds his way to maybe climb up another position or two
07:32he can find his way on the podium tonight
07:33well you talk about Cooper Webb right here
07:36and I haven't ruled him out
07:37or a guy like Justin Cooper as well
07:40but listen this man won the triple crown in Houston
07:43and didn't even win a race throughout that night
07:46so that's another great thing about the triple crown
07:48you can win the overall and not have a race win
07:52yeah I agree with you
07:53and a big scheme of things
07:54we go back with Ken Rockson
07:56three weekends ago he was 31 points out of the lead
07:59and last weekend he's within five
08:01so Cooper Webb is well within that
08:03and he knows championship wise
08:05there's still an opportunity there
08:07and the points paying format in this triple crown
08:10is the lowest amount of points is what wins the night
08:14it's kind of like golf scoring
08:17back up front
08:18what a start to this triple crown for Hunter Lawrence
08:21and James this is an incredible ride by Hunter Lawrence
08:25and the reason that I believe that is because
08:27number one he got a great start
08:28and with everything on the line
08:30you were talking about it before we went on there
08:32how important it would be for either Kenny or Hunter
08:35to win this race from a championship perspective
08:38well he's doing a great job out in front
08:40let's hear from the man himself
08:45just trying to get one race at a time under my belt
08:48we're doing really well
08:49we've had a great season
08:51I'm just grateful

09:21he does take it one race at a time

09:24I feel like
09:25there's certain parts of the season
09:27where you just
09:27kind of make it happen
09:29and I feel like
09:29the last couple of weekends
09:30with Hunter Lawrence being tied
09:31with Eli Tomac
09:32you know in this race
09:34he has an opportunity
09:35to get some more points
09:36on Ken Rockson
09:37and what that does
09:38it gives him a little bit of wiggle room
09:39in case something happens
09:41he has a little bit more room
09:42so
09:42this is a pivotal night
09:43for him
09:44or day for him
09:45to be able to get this first win

09:47it is James
09:48and when you really think about the season
09:50it has been so much
09:52about execution
09:53for Hunter Lawrence
09:54every time
09:54he's needed to kind of rise up
09:56and answer the bell
09:57he's done so
09:58last week was a perfect example of that

10:03we all knew

10:06all the intensity
10:07try to close that gap immediately
10:09and Hunter responded
10:10even though he makes a mistake there

10:13put in the same lap time as Ken Rockson
10:15and once Kenny realized
10:17he wasn't able to close the gap
10:18it really felt like
10:19that was a pivotal moment
10:20here in race one
10:21that was almost a pivotal moment
10:23right there for Hunter Lawrence
10:24he got some serious whiplash
10:26there
10:26comes up short
10:27this track is
10:28super difficult right now
10:30a lot of ruts forming up
10:32in between the rhythm lanes
10:33and it's getting slick

10:43the 31 year old Frenchman
10:45Dylan Ferrandes
10:46multi-time 250 Supercross champ
10:48he's an outdoor 450 motocross champion
10:51and this is the first season
10:52for this manufacturer
10:54this team
10:55this outfit
10:56unfortunately his teammate
10:57Justin Barsha was injured
10:58at the opening round
10:59but this guy here is coming off
11:01his best result of the season
11:02and the best result ever
11:04for this TLD Red Bull Ducati
11:06sixth last weekend in Nashville
11:08that was awesome
11:09oh fantastic ride
11:10especially on a very difficult track
11:13that track last week was dry
11:15very very hard
11:17but no surprise
11:18plenty capable of these type of
11:20results for sure
11:22but going back to what you're
11:23talking about James
11:24and what a win could do
11:25for a guy like Hunter Lawrence
11:27that means he can go into next
11:28week at Philly
11:29and have a little less pressure
11:32not be in a must situation

11:36just to give a little weather update
11:37you can see how shiny it's getting
11:39in some of those sections
11:40the rain has picked up quite a bit
11:42now
11:42I don't think we're going to turn
11:43into a full mud situation
11:45but what James mentioned earlier
11:46about how slippery it is
11:47on this racetrack
11:48that is going to be the challenge
11:50because
11:50it's definitely gotten worse
11:51over the last 10 minutes

12:13coming off a season best
12:14fifth in Nashville

12:24route he had last weekend
12:25you know not the best of stars
12:27looked like he just kind of
12:28got out there and rode

12:32showed you how much talent
12:33this guy has
12:34and I'm sure it's hard
12:35for him to kind of deal
12:36with that
12:36he's a champion
12:38but baby steps

12:42and like we talked about
12:43at the top of the show
12:44and I went to the off season
12:46and as far as odds go
12:48this would have been
12:49one of the favorites
12:50and it's been
12:51a challenging year

13:02with a victory

13:12he was on board
13:14that HRC Honda
13:15progressive machine
13:16and Hunter Lawrence

13:19and starts this Triple Crown
13:21one afternoon
13:22in the best possible way
13:24that's an impressive ride
