00:40was so great uh in so many ways i was uh i was loving it um sitting on the chair

00:49had to get back home so i didn't stay at the stadium once we were done with the show and
00:53turned it over to it um and then you have the the delay and i was i was laughing
01:01when i was driving from the stadium to my house i'm on the lodge and you know dan dickerson brings
01:08it back from break and kato montero is throwing his pitches and and dan's like well what do we got
01:14here no umpire okay no umpire they're like well i don't know i don't know how long it's gonna be
01:22but kato montero's been out there for five minutes now and still don't have an umpire and i'm just
01:27laughing because i'm like there's only one reason there's no umpire you know well it could be that
01:33plumbing issues of some kind you know um so he eventually comes back and they they play the game
01:40whatever and i come home watching the game and then they start flipping around a little bit come back
01:45and then get the kansas city comes back in a big way now the rain delay and there's another delay
01:52where the umpire is gone and now i'm really laughing out loud because this is this is a while
02:00and everybody's trying to make it seem like it's not some sort of okay he's got an issue
02:08you know maybe maybe the umpire just just work with a different crew have somebody else take over
02:13home and you can go with the three umpires you don't need the fourth let the let the guy have
02:17his time in the bathroom to do what he's got to do but it's kind of funny to me you
02:21know and because
02:22i i'm a child and sometimes you know when you can make bathroom jokes you're gonna laugh about it
02:27and uh the guy eventually comes out of the dugout and he like does the like the home run sign

02:34let's go let's go let's go let's get out there and i'm like if i was one of the umpires

02:45a while that guy must have destroyed the bathroom or he was sick like did they even i'm guessing it
02:54had to be both my mind goes to the other side too quickly because it's funnier the funny than just

03:31he's really good and at some point dirks just he just runs with the bathroom humor or whatever and
03:37and starts asking benetti if he's ever been in a situation like that and benetti said well one
03:43time i was doing a basketball game and i had to you know i was you know running i had
03:49to make sure i
03:49had enough room between me and the in the bathroom and you know how long was a commercial break and
03:53all
03:53this stuff and you know we can all relate because it's our business and i'm sure there have been times
03:58both of us well we know there have been times that both of a one of one of each of
04:01us has had to
04:02miss the start of a segment because we had a situation brewing yeah we we've talked about it
04:09and it's kind of funny when it gets that way but everybody yeah everybody has dirks was not letting
04:14it go and he wanted details from benetti and it was just like dirks said did you have to
04:20were the undergarments okay
04:24well there's a scott man pelt line that there are two kinds of men on this planet there's ones that
04:30admit that they have and there's ones that are liars right 100 so it was just it was a funny
04:35situation to me and then the game ends the way that it ends with the tigers i mean they get
04:40down
04:41eight six they get one run because mcgonagall hits a triple and then it comes home on a sack fly
04:47and then they give up a run to make a nine seven and they come up with the the three
04:51runs in the
04:51ninth inning was just fantastic riley green delivering with a two run double down the
04:56right down the line at first base mcgonagall scoring for first base with ease kids got wheels
05:03man he can absolutely fly which is which is great he's so good he is he's so good he's great
05:08and and
05:08then they get colt keith delivers the base hit to right field and i'm thinking to myself okay
05:12if you're gonna have a base hit don't hit it to right field because keg leone has a cannon
05:16absolute cannon but because it's two outs run on contact as soon as the ball is hit riley green's
05:21off and running and and he was going to make it and the throw still that was a bullet from
05:27right
05:28field that if it were you know probably 80 of the rest of the roster they would have been thrown
05:33out
05:34but riley green has enough wheels and he got home yeah i don't know if it was 80 but i
05:38will tell you
05:40this um i i thought back to our guy that we quote every once in a while george blaha there
05:49are wins
05:51and then there are wins and that was one of them that was a way that was a that was
05:55a hell of a win
05:56a lead they never should have gave up but they did my bullpen that needs some needs some changes i
06:04think
06:04the bullpen has a chance to be extraordinarily good but there might be one or two guys that need to
06:07get
06:07phased out here a little bit but at the end of the day uh they found a way they found
06:13a way in the
06:13end to get the win and yeah mcgonagall was a big part of it good to see bats coming through
06:18like riley
06:19green yeah torkelson had a couple of hits it looked good and you know everybody delivering dylan dingler
06:24had a double a home run and then probably could have had another double or triple but that ball was
06:29chased down in center field a hell of a catch by the center field yeah cole keith coming through in
06:33the end
06:33like there was a lot a lot to like about the everyday lineup on a day where the pitching wasn't
06:37there
06:38and the tigers now swept back-to-back series puts them in a very very uh a good place going
06:46into
06:46the weekend and a much better place than a week ago i mean look we advised you know as i
06:55like to say
06:56fans you have every reason to feel the way you feel your feelings are authentic and they are yours
07:00but the panic farmers were out in full force jamming our phone lines a week ago
07:06and gave all the reasons why it was too early to panic it's also too early to start doing victory
07:10laps and and i don't know that we're going to do that today either but i mean be kansas city
07:15who was
07:16seven and nine going into the series so they're supposed to be the second best team in the in the
07:21division according to vegas going into the year and miami the team they beat last year last week is
07:27not supposed to be particularly good i don't you know there's there's behaviors that the tigers will
07:36will show they go okay that team can compete and then there's times they act like a team that's not
07:42going to compete and we've seen both of them on full display for days at a time so far this
07:47season
07:47it's kind of been a feast or famine type stretches stacked on top of one another well they completely
07:52held kansas city in check until yesterday i mean with kansas city it's it's the the first four guys
07:57in our lineup are the guys to do all the damage garcia witt pasquantino and perez and they had done
08:03nothing in the series until yesterday all four guys had hits the all four guys drove in runs
08:09perez had four rbis pasquantino at the home run bobby witt jr had three hits i mean it was those
08:15guys did
08:16their job and when they score nine runs in a baseball game and lose how demoralizing is that
08:24i mean you score nine you're i mean what's the number you feel really confident you're going to win
08:28is it six for the tigers for any team in baseball i mean you score six runs like we got
08:34this i'm not
08:35i mean five but yeah you should win most games the tigers had the six what six one they're up

08:42one i mean it was funny because the way that game was trending early on it was one one and
08:48then the
08:48tigers exploded and i think it was benetti made the comment if the tigers win this game two to one
08:52it'll be the first time in their history that they win a three game series with all three games being
08:56two to one well it didn't turn out to be merely two to one it was ten to nine when
09:01it was all said
09:02and done that just a game got drunk in the second half of it and you had rain delays and
09:07i don't know
09:08how many people out there bathroom delays the game was the game the start of the game was delayed
09:14and then there was a rain delay during it and then there was an umpire delay if you were at
09:19co-america
09:19from first pitch through to the end and pre prior to first pitch scheduled first pitch through to the
09:25end that's that's a that's a that's a warrior type day good for you it was and it was something
09:31called keith acknowledged afterwards when he was being interviewed uh on the field and and he said you
09:36know you get you look at the end here and this is not an empty stadium i mean it's not
09:40like it was
09:40packed with people but there were still fans that were there that did that did brave it so good for
09:45those people if you were there and you were there from one o'clock until that game ended love to

09:51from you about the because you get into these situations where it's a quest i'm not leaving it's
09:57like the 10 30 face off in the postseason for the red wings back in the day the quest not
10:03leaving
10:03you still do the quest well i did with uh the michigan uh denver frozen four game that went
10:10till 12 54 in the morning i mean that's i still got the quest in my back that's still in
10:15my game
10:16i got that i got that club in my yeah if that game had been played in december would you
