Out west, gusty showers and storms continue as a trough moves further onshore, impacting coastal and inland areas, including a chance for showers in Perth. Most other states will experience generally settled conditions, though fog and frost may be present in some ranges, and smoke haze could be visible in parts of NSW.

00:00Hello, Ilana from the Bureau here with your national weather forecast for tomorrow, Thursday the 16th of April.
00:06Let's start and take a look across the country.
00:08Now, tomorrow will be another wet day for parts of northern Australia,
00:12as X-Tropical Cyclone Mylar brings moisture onshore through coastal Queensland,
00:18through the interior, and then into parts of the territory during Thursday.
00:22Further south, though, we're going to see a cold front sweeping through,
00:25bringing showers, some storms, and cooler conditions to parts of the southeastern states.
00:31And out west, we see another day of gusty showers and storms,
00:35as the trough along the west coast finally moves a little bit further onshore.
00:40So let's take a look now state by state, and we'll start in Queensland.
00:43Queensland will see another wet day with X-Tropical Cyclone Mylar and a low-pressure trough
00:48continuing to bring widespread showers and storms.
00:52Now, some of those heaviest falls may once again be along the north tropical coast,
00:57where we have a flood watch out for the possibility of minor riverine flooding.
01:02Elsewhere, through northern and interior Queensland, we will still see those widespread showers and storms.
01:07But further south, it is looking like quite a dry and settled day.
01:10That includes for Brisbane, which will be sunny with a top of 30 degrees.
01:14Now, through New South Wales, which will see another settled day under this high-pressure system.
01:21That means fog and frost along parts of the ranges tomorrow morning.
01:25And due to ongoing planned burns, we may still see some smoke haze through parts of the Sydney and Hunter.
01:32Now, that smoke haze may mean some very beautiful sunrises through parts of the east.
01:37It's going to warm up into a sunny day through New South Wales tomorrow, 27 degrees for Sydney and 22
01:43degrees for Canberra.
01:45Now, through Victoria in the north, we'll see some morning fog, then a mostly settled day.
01:50But further south, we'll see an increase in cloud and shower activity from the west in the morning through to
01:56central parts in the afternoon
01:58and through to the east in the evening, with the passage of this cold front moving through.
02:03Now, we may also see some storms through the Wimmera and southwest districts.
02:08It will be rather warm, though, ahead of that front coming through.
02:11So Melbourne will actually reach 25 degrees before that front brings some showers through the late afternoon and evening.
02:20Into Tasmania now, where showers will begin on the west coast and then move through to the central and eastern
02:27parts
02:27during the day with the passage of this front.
02:30Now, behind that front, we are looking at quite cool conditions coming in,
02:34which means we may see some snow about elevated areas late in the day.
02:39Hobart will see 19 degrees and a few showers possible.
02:43Into South Australia, which may see some showers about the lower east,
02:49otherwise quite a settled day, some fog in the south about the Eyre Peninsula,
02:54then a sunny day.
02:57Through the north, we'll see temperatures reaching 30 degrees and a little bit cooler further south.
03:01Adelaide, once again, will see 23.
03:04Now, through Western Australia, we're seeing this trough finally move a little bit further inland,
03:09which means that area of gusty storms will extend further east tomorrow,
03:14from parts of the Pilbara through the interior and into the Eucla area.
03:19Those storms, though, may still impact parts of the southwest, including for Perth.
03:25So Perth, like today, has that chance of morning storms,
03:28and then that risk again in the afternoon through the hills.
03:31And it will see a top of 28.
03:34Now, the Northern Territory is seeing an end to a run of quite dry days,
03:38as a lot of this moisture comes in associated with Extropical Cyclone Mylar.
03:42That means we're going to see showers and storms mostly in the Arnhem,
03:47but extending further south into the Carpentaria and Northern Barclay as well.
03:52Now, tomorrow we won't quite see those showers and storms reach as far west as Darwin,
03:56which will see another dry day and a top of 35.
04:00That's all for our national weather forecast.
