00:00Attorney-at-law representing some of the families of divers who perished in the Paria tragedy
00:05says the payment being offered by government is too little, too late.
00:10It's a call that had been made several years ago, but today the Prime Minister has announced.
00:18But I say one million after this time, too little, too late.
00:23Of course, we take instructions from our clients and then we will see where we are.
00:30It is also very troubling that the figure that they've come up with of one million dollars
00:36comes in the light of the Attorney-General attempting to sue the Leader of the Opposition
00:44for four million dollars, supposedly on the basis of a defamatory statement.
00:50The Congress of the People, which only today announced it has joined the UNC's Coalition of Interests,
00:55questions where is the parity?
00:59There is no equality, there is no fairness.
01:02And suddenly, in the light of an election, you come with this.
01:06Come now, Trinidad and Tobago, elections have consequences.
01:10This is one of them.
01:12We are not to be easily fooled.
01:14But at the same time, we are happy that this government in its last few days is seeing the light.
