00:00On two wheels, Colin Wilson was brave. He was remembered today at the Assumption Church on Maraval Road.
00:06In attendance were fellow cyclists, friends, family members and other sporting administrators.
00:13They filled out the venue as some of them would have whenever Wilson pedaled on the track.
00:18Some of them who spoke mentioned it was not the ending of his life that they were hoping for
00:22and expressed their desire to see other cyclists ride safely.
00:27And there's a thing in safety called a near miss.
00:31And if you don't heed to those near misses, it will reach into fatality.
00:39Let me repeat that.
00:41If you don't heed the near miss signals, it will reach into what is happening here today.
00:50His family will remember him in song and for everything else he had done as a husband, father and his
00:57achievements on a bike.
00:58Others had not gotten enough of his selfless nature.
01:02Colin, your impact spans in and beyond sport.
01:05Fly any Caranage and Trinidad and Tobago flag across the nation and region.
01:11And though we would make jokes about your riding style in the cycling park.
01:29The priest believes his life represented hope that there are still people who carry light in dark times.
01:36We live among people who are so self-centered that they'll do anything to injure you because of jealousy, because
01:49of greed.
01:50And when we can find a person that we have found in our brother Colin, we know that there must
01:59be a God.
02:00His send-off, while on command, serves as a sign of respect, a thank you and a crown of acknowledgement
02:07to Colin Wilson, who goes to rest in peace.
