00:00A Freeport man was killed after his vehicle was allegedly struck by a container that detached from a truck in Koova on Wednesday evening.
00:09Mark Ramdan of Rajkumar Trace on Arena Road was pronounced dead at the scene.
00:15A police report stated that a wheel broke off from the container, causing it to detach from the truck.
00:21The police report stated that the truck and container were proceeding in an easterly direction along Rivulet Road,
00:27went about 200 metres from the traffic light intersection around 6.45pm when the fifth wheel of the container broke and detached from the tractor truck
00:36and collided with a grey Ford pickup driven by Ramdan, who was travelling in the opposite direction.
00:43The container also collided with a car, then came to a stop in some bushes on the northern side of the road, the report said.
00:50The vehicles involved in the collision were impounded at the Koova police station.
