02:02Now, that was me for the last three days here.
02:05Yeah, well, you walked by this room.
02:07Oh, cold.
02:09Back to the story.
02:11Making sure that they were safe.
02:12Michael Puckett and his sons, Devin and Bryce,
02:15were out enjoying a sunny day on Lake St. Clair
02:17when the small boat thing started.
02:19Oh, no.
02:19No water.
02:20At first it was...
02:20Guys, listen, thank you so much for listening.
02:25But you can't go out there in that boat, boys.
02:29You guys are big boys.
02:31You guys are big boys.
02:33Who was sitting in the Titanic spot?
02:37Who was up front like Rose?
02:40Because you brought that boat down and you know it.
02:43You know you did.
02:45That thing went up one wave and came down
02:49and it just went right under the water.
02:51Three guys all over three bills in one tiny fishing boat.
02:55Easily over three bills in.
02:57Johnny Coldtip's there.
02:59He's got to be 350.
03:02You know how pissed I am?
03:04If I am shirtless in a car
03:06and one of you guys decides to do a news interview
03:09while I am in the car shirtless,
03:11my nipples are out.
03:13He's shirtless too.
03:14Well, I know.
03:15The other guy, they're all shirtless.
03:16I would be like,
03:18let us warm up and get some shirts.
03:22And then we'll talk.
03:24I started telling the boys we're in trouble
03:26and it happened within seconds.
03:28The waves just popped us over and we just capsized.
03:32Michael tells me they were about a quarter mile from shore
03:34and realized they were too far out
03:36for the size of the boat they were in.
03:38We were in a small John boat.
03:39We should never have drifted that far out.
03:42By the time, you know, we realized,
03:44I realized that we were too far out,
03:46we just couldn't get back to the time.
03:48The waves were too much.
03:49Jack Godsey heard the frantic calls for help while on shore
03:52and was one of the callers that called 911.
03:55I could see a guy waving a paddle,
03:57so I called the Sheriff's Department
03:59or St. Clair Shores Police
04:01and they went out there and got him.
04:03The rescue also triggering a response
04:05from a nearby Coast Guard helicopter.
04:07And once the men were safe on land,
04:08Chopper 7 was still high above
04:10and spotted the Sheriff's Marine Division
04:11recovering the part of a small boat.
04:13I'm glad I was able to have my phone
04:15and get the Coast Guard out here
04:16to get us out of the water.
04:18Michael and his two boys, Devin and Bryce,
04:20say they're lucky to be alive
04:21after being in the chilly lake for over 15 minutes.
04:24Really, they saved our lives.
04:25While they have the proper safety gear on board,
04:27they have a message for other boaters
04:29who are heading out this season.
04:30Don't go too far out of the water
04:32and pay attention to how far you get out there.
04:34In St. Clair Shores, Peter Maxwell, 7 News, Detroit.
04:37So one of their brothers didn't speak.
04:39Not at all.
04:40He's so upset.
04:41Yeah, the one in the back.
04:42He's wrapped in it.
04:43He's the only one.
04:44He took the towel, too.
04:45He's the dominant force.
04:46He's wrapped in a tiny towel.
04:47I don't know if they'll ever speak again
04:49if the other two.
04:51That other guy in the front.
04:52Oh, my God.
04:53I don't know.
04:54I don't know.
04:55He'll never be the same.
04:56No, not after this.
04:59Not after this.
05:01You just cannot put three big boys
05:04in a tiny fishing boat.
05:06No.
05:07Mm-mm.
05:07And they were anxious to get out there, too, obviously.
05:10They were a little early.
05:12A little bit, yeah.
05:14You know.
05:15Water's still very cold.
05:15It's got to be so cold.
05:17I can't even imagine it, really.
05:20Oh, my goodness.
05:22Listen, I just put a toe in the other day,
05:24and I was like, ooh.
05:25Oh, yeah, no.
05:26Mm-mm.
05:26It's frigid.
05:27Yeah.
05:28Bad idea, boys.
