00:00Well, we've already taken difficult choices, so we took a decision around overseas aid to cut that to make sure
00:05that we can support the 2.6% of GDP being spent on defence from next April.
00:10So we're prepared to make sure the money is there for defence. We've already taken decisions to have the highest
00:15sustained increase in defence spending since the Cold War.
00:18But it's important we spend that money in the right way and on protecting us from the threats that we
00:22face in the modern world.
00:23And that's why getting the Defence Investment Plan, which is a 10-year plan to transform our armed forces, to
00:29get that right, is so important.
