00:00I indicated in the phone call that we had a week last Monday that I would take a pragmatic approach
00:08when it comes to the North Sea and that is my intention as we go forward from here.
00:14There is a resource there when people are struggling.
00:18You can't ignore that and hence me indicating that to the President.
00:24When it comes to the wider issues around the Channel and immigration,
00:29obviously there are crossings this week.
00:33But overall, if you look at the picture in 2026 compared to last year, 2025,
00:39there is significant progress in terms of reducing the number of crossings,
00:43the number of people coming over.
00:45But there is much further to be done to get the grip on the issue that we require.
00:50The Home Secretary is applying that grip and I'm grateful to her.
00:54But more is needed to get those numbers right down.
