00:05Добро пожаловать в Бостон.
00:30Павел Банкеру and the Orlando Magic looking to stay out of the play-in tournament.
00:37Hello, everybody.
00:38I'm Mark Jones alongside Doris Burke.
00:40Angel Graves joining us in just a moment.
00:42On this, the final day of the NBA's regular season, Doris, so much yet to be decided.
00:47Orlando has a chance to get as high as six or fall to as low as eight.
00:52Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics already locked in at the number two seed.
00:55And who would have thought that without Jason Tatum for most of the season, they'd be sitting where they are?
01:00I think only Jalen Brown believed he could step up so seamlessly into a lead role, absorb the nightly responsibility,
01:07and lead a team to 55 wins.
01:09And every repetition gets Jason Tatum closer to first-team Jason Tatum.
01:14But you mentioned it, Mark.
01:15It has been about the role players this season and their ability to contribute to winning depending on the night.
01:22And tonight, that means Luka Garza will start at the five spot.
01:25He gives you unbelievable effort, great offensive rebounding, and can knock down threes.
01:30I love that he gets a chance to star.
01:32Meanwhile, the Orlando Magics need to win tonight for a chance to get to the number six seed.
01:36They have endured an infirmity, a litany of injuries, but here they are still with a chance to get in
01:42the top six.
01:43All that inconsistency means in game 82, they're still trying to find their rhythm and determine who they are.
01:49But this is the baseline of talent, and it's extraordinary.
01:52Since All-Star Paulo Banqueiro has been a downhill force, Franz has got an all-around game that can devastate
01:59opponents, and Bain has provided great leadership.
02:02But they've got an uphill climb to find the best version of themselves.
02:06Jamal Mosley, their head coach, trying to speed track their chemistry.
02:11Paulo Banqueiro doing his part.
02:13They can finish in sixth, seventh, or eighth.
02:16When we come back, Angel Gray will be with one half of the Wagner brothers.
02:21That one right there.
02:22Back after this.
02:26NBA Courtside is presented by Michelob Ultra Zero.
02:30Zero alcohol, just 29 calories.
02:34Touching NBA Courtside presented by Michelob Ultra.
02:38As we pull into North Station here in Boston,
02:41TD Garden with the Celtics taking on the Orlando Magic.
02:44Boston looking for its 56th win of the season in this improbable, implausible year without, for the most part, Jason
02:52Tatum.
02:52They're locked into the number two spot.
02:54Meanwhile, Orlando can move as high as number six or fall down to number eight.
03:00They are trying to avoid the play-in.
03:02Angel Gray standing by with Franz Wagner.
03:06Thanks, Mark.
03:07Well, Franz, you guys are ending tonight on a five-game win streak,
03:10but getting this one is very important for controlling what you need to in order for a playoff spot, clinching
03:15that.
03:15But what's been the conversation amongst this group about what version of yourselves must be on display to close out
03:21the regular season?
03:22Yeah, just it's all about our mindset.
03:24Obviously, not everybody playing for the Celtics tonight, but like you said, we need every game we can get.
03:28So, no, it's all about our mindset, just finishing off the season the right way,
03:31and then hopefully be in a good spot for the playoffs.
03:34And for you as well, you're coming off of a game where you played the most minutes since returning from
03:37your ankle injury.
03:38What is it like being back for you on the floor?
03:41Yeah, it's a blessing.
03:43No, I hate being out, and no, rehab isn't fun.
03:46So, no, it's a lot of fun to be out there with the guys again.
03:49Lastly, Paulo Bencaro said, getting guys back has improved the vibes of this team.
03:54So, I'm curious, what have the vibes been like?
03:55How would you describe it, and what has to be on display as far as the vibes to continue the
04:00season?
04:01Yeah, I think a good mix of, you know, having a good time and being focused, obviously.
04:04You know, the way the season's been going, a lot of ups and downs for us.
04:08So, I think everybody sees when guys are out there, they're a little frustrated and want to get back to
04:13playing.
04:13So, I think that always helps the group.
04:15Good to see you back on the floor.
04:17Congrats, and we'll see you later.
04:18Thank you.
04:20All right, postseason seating on the line for the Magic as they take on the Celtics.
04:25So, stick around.
04:25We'll have the game action coming up after the break.
04:32The ultimate test is coming up.
04:34Playoffs is a time of year where everything that you learn, all the discipline that you require,
04:41you put it all on display.
04:45Chapter number 82 of the NBA's regular season.
04:51We have to sharpen up and recognize what it's going to take.
04:58We've got to scrap and claw.
05:00We've got to find nine guys that are all right on the spike.
05:05These last games, the level is raised.
05:09We're all going to have to give a little bit more.
05:13We've got to have a chance here to make a playoff run, and it's time to put it together.
05:17To win the championship is the goal of every team in the playoffs.
05:23But we take things one at a time.
05:31Welcome, everyone, to NBA Sunday, presented by State Farm, part of the playoff push, presented by Advil.
05:39TD guarding the backdrop on the last day of the NBA's regular season.
05:43As we take a look at the starting lineups, the Orlando Magic playing some of their best basketball in this
05:48turbulent season.
05:49They've won five consecutive games, and Franz Wagner is coming off one of his best games.
05:54He had 25 a couple of nights ago against Chicago since his return, Doris Burke.
06:00And, partner, we've got to take a second, because tonight I know your career is going to continue on after.
06:06But after spending more than half your life calling games for this network, tonight is it.
06:12And I just want you to know, everybody involved in the truck here courtside, we are honored to be here
06:18with you.
06:18I love you, Doris.
06:19I love you.
06:20I love you.
06:20Thank you.
06:21We're going to have some fun and document the game and do it the way it's got to be done.
06:26Amen.
06:27Brought some seasoning with me tonight, folks.
06:32Boston Celtics looking for win number 56 on the season.
06:38A season that was supposed to be a gap year.
06:43They were supposed to be on scholarship and take a breather.
06:46But Joe Mazula and his players had other ideas, as Suggs will bring it in the frontcourt for the Magic.
06:52Off the flip action, it's Bancaro.
06:55And we're going to have an offensive foul right off the opening back against Orlando.
07:02That's going to go against Bancaro, his first.
07:06Orlando Magic team still trying to find its rhythm and flow offensively.
07:11Ron Harper Jr. getting the start in the backcourt.
07:16Shireman coming off a nice game against the Knicks recently.
07:19And Garza gets the Celtics on the board.
07:21It's been a big part of what he's provided.
07:23I feel like the longer the season has gone on, the more confident in that three ball he has become.
07:29Former college basketball player of the year, Bain.
07:36Here's Wagner.
07:39Pulls the three and knocks it down, continuing his hot shooting from a couple of nights ago.
07:43He knocked down three threes in Chicago.
07:46That jumper's working, and that's an incredibly important piece for the Orlando Magic, for Franz in particular.
07:52There's a team there in the bottom third of three-point shooting, and here's Wagner pushing it up.
07:57This is a team, Doris, that likes to get into the paint and make things happen.
08:01Carter on the show-and-go.
08:03Bancaro from the dunker spot.
08:05That's it exactly.
08:06You can see the frame of Paulo Bancaro.
08:08This is the team that takes the most free throws and make the most free throws in the NBA.
08:14Garza on top.
08:15Here's Walsh.
08:17Shireman, from inside the logo, knocks down another one.
08:21And he comes up the floor, grabbing at his shooting hand.
08:25I'm not sure exactly.
08:26Did somebody catch a piece of his finger on that?
08:29Suggs fires.
08:30That's off the mark.
08:31Shireman, as I mentioned, had a good shooting game against the New York Knicks.
08:36And two of five from deep against New Orleans.
08:39Harper Jr.
08:40Loses the handle out of bounds.
08:42It'll be Orlando Magic basketball.
08:44One more look at Shireman.
08:45And obviously the rotation's a little out of the ordinary,
08:47but Shireman is a guy who I believe, Mark, will be a pivotal part of the playoff rotation.
08:53And watch him just grab the left hand.
08:55Got to clip those fingertips so the challenge doesn't impact you.
08:59Hey, need that manicure pregame.
09:02Just on the way.
09:03Suggs gets into the paint.
09:04Turned it over, though.
09:08Shulga into the front court.
09:09Harper Jr.
09:10On the catch and shoot three.
09:12Left it on the front rim for Suggs.
09:17Orlando, winners of five straight.
09:19Bogdor wide open.
09:20Knocks down the short three.
09:21And he's off to a good start to it.
09:24Listen, his all-around game is devastating.
09:26He's a tremendous passer.
09:27He's excellent on the defensive end.
09:29He's willing to mix it up on the glass.
09:31That shooting just elevates everything.
09:34Shireman off the mark.
09:36One and done.
09:37Banquero with the board.
09:39Orlando, Banquero averaging a little over 22 points per game.
09:42Has missed about 10 games this season.
09:45Suggs.
09:47Out to Carter.
09:49Talked about their three-point shooting.
09:51They are 26th in three-point percentage.
09:56Walsh.
09:58Harper Jr. celebrating his 26th birthday today.
10:02Over to Shulga now Garza.
10:06Garza trying to walk down Bogdor.
10:08Five on the shot clock.
10:09Shireman has to pull.
10:12Hits on top of the backboard.
10:16Esmond Bain.
10:17It's quiet in this arena.
10:19I'm not sure they're used to seeing this combination starting a game for the Celtics.
10:24But it hasn't mattered all year.
10:26Banquero missed twice at the rim.
10:29Well, we were wondering, because of the Celtics personnel tonight, who's going to absorb the Banquero matchup?
10:35He's 6'10", 250.
10:36So you can't just throw any body at him.
10:39Now, Doris, you look at their front line.
10:41It can be problematic for a lot of teams.
10:43They go an average of 6'10", across the front.
10:46And Paolo has talked about that.
10:48He has talked specifically about the tandem.
10:50As you see, the Jays getting a night off as we march a week away or so from the playoffs.
10:56But Paolo has talked about the combination of he and Franz.
10:59Franz is going to get a little breather here.
11:00De Silva comes in.
11:02Like, the combination of those two guys and how dynamic and different their games are
11:06and how much they are to contend with.
11:09Got to keep in mind that this is a potential first-round playoff match.
11:13The two against seven pairings.
11:15Shireman on the pull-up.
11:17Comes off to Harper Jr.
11:19And happy birthday, Ron Harper Jr.
11:22Doris, I asked him prior to the game, what did you get for your birthday?
11:25From your family.
11:26It goes, nothing yet, but I got minutes from Coach Mazzula.
11:29That's the most important thing.
11:31I love that.
11:33They run their split action.
11:35There's Suggs.
11:36Nice pocket pass to Carter.
11:38Could make a clean catch.
11:40And said, Harper Jr.
11:42On the break with the crossover.
11:44Got it to go over Banqueiro.
11:46Timeout, Orlando.
11:50Stunned like his daddy.
11:52Ron Harper Jr.
11:53With the bucket.
11:56The NBA on ESPN is presented all season long by State Farm.
12:01Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
12:06It's ruling the court.
12:07Brought to you by Burger King.
12:09The standard is the standard.
12:11It's a high one here in Boston.
12:13Five consecutive 50-win seasons.
12:16You have to go back to Bird McHale and Parrish's era to see that kind of success.
12:21It hasn't been done since that time.
12:23Had an interesting discussion with Brad Stevens as we see the projection preseason.
12:28They far exceeded the number.
12:30But Brad Stevens, Doris, told me prior to Tip tonight that he was so over the moon at how the
12:36role players on this team have embraced their role and executed it.
12:41Well, you think about the likes of Peyton Pritchard, who has excelled as both starter and reserve.
12:46You think about the likes of Jordan Walsh, who's shown great growth as a defensive player.
12:50Can he be involved in the playoffs?
12:52But to me, this is as much about Joe Mazzula.
12:56Like, Brad Stevens talks all the time about the North Star is championships.
13:01And Joe Mazzula, I'm glad I'm sitting over here because I'm about to mention him for Coach of the Year.
13:05He talks about being tight to their identity.
13:08What does that mean?
13:09Low turnovers, winning the possession battle, offensive rebounding, and defending the paint.
13:15Like, there's great clarity as to who they are and how they win.
13:20And that's top down all the way through the players.
13:23This season has been a wonderful testament to their overall culture.
13:27Culture that Joe Mazzula has continued to nurture and establish on the sidelines.
13:34And here we are in the last day of the regular season.
13:38Second weekend in April.
13:40And the Celtics are thinking about potentially banner number 19.
13:43Carter trying to walk down Garza, who was impenetrable defensively.
13:47That's the fourth turnover for the Celtics.
13:50Pardon me for the magic.
13:53Shireman is already knocked down one three.
13:58Nine on the shot clock.
13:59Harper Jr.
14:01A little bit too strong and boarded by Carter.
14:04Desmond Baines so far conspicuous by his silence offensively.
14:09But he's a big key for them offensively.
14:11Orlando has missed its last six attempts.
14:15Bain from the midrange.
14:16Got it.
14:17It's the beauty of Bain.
14:18He plays off the ball at the start of the game.
14:20Jalen Suggs in command.
14:22But give him the basketball to create his own or to get something for other guys.
14:26Got off to a very slow shooting start this year.
14:29Harper on the cross.
14:30Back out to Schulga.
14:31They run some chase action.
14:33He retrieves it.
14:34Seven on the shot clock for Boston.
14:38Shulga inside for Garza.
14:40And got blocked by Wendell Carter Jr.
14:44Bain on the move.
14:47Got it to go through the contact.
14:49He's sensing we need a little lift offensively.
14:53And when he puts his head down and becomes aggressive,
14:55that frame is built for contact at the rim.
14:59Good defense by Bain at the other end.
15:01And he forces the turnover to Silva on the break.
15:04Slow steps it.
15:06And missed the layup.
15:10Passed the midway point of the opening quarter.
15:14Charmin over to Shulga.
15:16Catch and shoot three.
15:17Missed everything.
15:21Suggs looking for Vanquero.
15:22Has Shulga pinned.
15:24Nice rim run to draw the foul.
15:28Let's watch Desmond Bain work a little bit.
15:31You've got to get to the spots on the floor where you are most comfortable.
15:35Takes the screen.
15:36Enough of one to get him free and turning to his strong hand.
15:39And then off the rebound by Wendell Carter.
15:43Just recognizing Boston is not back and set defensively.
15:47I'm going right to the cup.
15:48We need a little juice to our offense right now.
15:52Vanquero at the free throw line.
15:54Knocks down the first.
15:55Jamal Mosley telling us that Desmond Bain is one of the best leaders he's ever been around.
16:01That on the heels of asking him how he acclimated to the Orlando Magic after that trade from Memphis.
16:07It took him a little bit of time, Doris, to find his shooting rhythm
16:10and find out where his shots were going to come from.
16:12He was shooting 30% from downtown for a while and ends up at 39%.
16:18But he just had to feel his way through the game with his new teammates.
16:23And with all the moving parts, all the injuries, it made it very trying.
16:26Listen, Desmond Bain is a competitively tough guy.
16:29And make no mistake, he was pressing early.
16:32Like, he was offended that Memphis traded him.
16:34And he wanted every bit of proving that he could fit somewhere else.
16:41Desmond Bain had it on his mind.
16:43He was very purposeful and intentional about trying to play all 82 games this year.
16:50He's one of just four players in the NBA this year playing all 82.
16:56He started every single one of them.
16:59Sog's high off the window.
17:02Bain checking into the ball game.
17:04Back for his second stint with the Celtics.
17:06Harper for three.
17:07Got it!
17:09I like Harper's game.
17:11You know, a lot of these guys, the minutes are going to be a step above.
17:15But they've proven night to night.
17:19Okay, I mean, I'll play for six, seven, eight games.
17:21But when my number is called, I am ready.
17:24Suggs with an answer at the other end.
17:25Doris knocks down the three ball.
17:27Jalen Suggs shooting 33% from deep.
17:30He's a good barometer for them on both ends.
17:34What do you make of the fact that their defense is not quite as statistically impressive as it was last
17:40year?
17:40I mean, honestly, it's been a noticeable drop.
17:42But I think it obviously has to do with the inconsistencies across the board.
17:46I mean, Franz, the ankle injury on December 7th, he misses 48 games.
17:51He is one of their best defensive players.
17:53So, listen, you're going to have some hits on that side.
17:56Carter passes up the open three.
17:58Scared money don't make no money.
18:00Suggs missing that three.
18:04Harper scored the last seven at this end for the Celtics.
18:08That's going to be a foul on that drive by Banton.
18:13So, let's watch Harper Jr. just run the floor.
18:16You sprint into transition.
18:18It's amazing.
18:19Get yourself in the vision of the guy with the basketball.
18:22Lack of identifying where the shooters are if you're Orlando.
18:26And then Suggs to me.
18:27I mean, the difference in record when he's in the line of versus outside is incredible.
18:34Really, their catalyst at the defensive end is point-of-attack defense.
18:39Banton on the drive and draws the foul.
18:41He'll go to the free-throw line for a couple of shots.
18:44Toronto Banton just signed recently by the Boston Celtics.
18:47Folks, take a look at the number 45 that he wears on his chest.
18:51There's a story behind that.
18:53He's a native of Rexdale, Ontario, on the west end of Toronto.
18:58That number 45 is the number of the Kipling Express bus that he used to take every day
19:05to get him out of his neighborhood and take him to the gym.
19:08It's a constant reminder of his journey and how he ended up in the NBA.
19:14And he becomes the 15th man on the roster.
19:17How about that?
19:19You know something about Toronto.
19:21Mark Jones used to suit up in Toronto.
19:23I love that city.
19:24I love that city.
19:26I still got a Canadian passport, too.
19:29I got two.
19:32Suggs out top to Banqueira.
19:34Raptors are going to be in the mix in the playoffs this year as Da Silva.
19:40Raptors can finish either fifth or sixth.
19:43So much to be determined in a crowded Eastern Conference.
19:47Harper confident heat check.
19:48And he's got some smoke for Orlando tonight.
19:52He's up to 10.
19:58Banqueira off to Da Silva.
20:00Good closeout by Banton.
20:06Banqueira punishing the paint.
20:08Finishes with a tip.
20:09What I've loved about Banqueira's approach out of the All-Star break
20:13is how much in the paint, right?
20:15The percentage of his shots.
20:17He's not settling for a jump shot that can come and go.
20:20And if I were 6'10", 250 with those hops, I'd be right there with him.
20:24Looks like today was a shoulder day for Paolo.
20:27Batten out top.
20:39And nothing, nothing should surprise you about the Boston Celtics running out some guys in jerseys and last names you
20:47may not know.
20:48But the culture runs deep, folks.
20:51Always sucks from deep.
20:52Got it.
20:53That's his second three ball of the game.
20:55Jalen Suggs with six points in the ballgame.
20:57You talked about Boston's defense.
20:59Doris, one of the few teams in the NBA that is top five in both defensive rating and offensive rating.
21:06Pretty incredible when you think about Jason Tatum missing so much of the season.
21:11The fact that they had to replace their entire front court.
21:14Right at the center spot, they had three legit guys.
21:18Dottie will go to the free throw line.
21:20Williams with a foul.
21:22Well, we know Jalen Suggs can get after people on the defensive end when he's shooting the three in this
21:27confidently.
21:27Look out.
21:33Welcome back, everyone.
21:34Time for today's DraftKings Sportsbook Player Pulse.
21:37Ron Harper Jr. already surpassing his number with 10 already in the first quarter here.
21:43Bancaro with five so far.
21:46DraftKings is the number one sportsbook for live betting.
21:49Use promo code SPLASH when you sign up.
21:54Toss with the free throw line for two shots.
21:59We're talking about Toronto a moment ago.
22:02If Atlanta loses to Miami and Orlando wins here against Boston, Atlanta will be the number five seed.
22:10Toronto right now, five points up on Brooklyn.
22:15Look at that.
22:18Five, six, seven.
22:20Really interesting.
22:22Five, six, seven, and eight.
22:23Blue it and eight, yes.
22:27Orlando with the potential of playing against Philadelphia at home in a play-in tournament game.
22:33Here's Walsh on the cross.
22:35Piercing the paint, but missed the lefty lane.
22:41The silver cross court.
22:42Anthony Black checks in and wide open connects.
22:45That's interesting.
22:46We were talking about the tough season, right?
22:49This guy was on a Nikhil Alexander-Walker trajectory, like major step up, and then has the oblique injury.
22:57And now you've got to try to find your rhythm in like 20 minutes a game at the most important
23:03part of the year.
23:04But Anthony Black is critical to their success.
23:07Go ahead, young fella.
23:09Averaging 15 points a game off the mark that time on a little bit of a minute's watch.
23:13But right now a 9-0 run.
23:16Flanton cross court.
23:17Harper, one more to Walsh.
23:24Kane switches on to Harper Jr.
23:26With seven on the shot clock.
23:28Patazian drop.
23:30Back out to Walsh.
23:32He has to pull late in the clock.
23:34And a good defensive sequence that time for Orlando.
23:37Boy, Walsh has had a couple of chances under duress of the clock, catching that grenade at the end.
23:43Wagner around the Patazian screen.
23:46De Silva from deep.
23:49And here come the Celtics.
23:50Under a minute to go in the opening quarter.
23:58Harper Jr. on the sticks.
24:03D.H.O. action to Blanton.
24:06Trying to turn the corner.
24:07Sprays it out to Walsh.
24:09Black stays home.
24:10Three on the shot clock.
24:11Celtics with another 9-1-1.
24:14That one comes off.
24:15Williams couldn't get it.
24:16And here's De Silva up to Wagner.
24:20Wagner got into the lane and draws the foul.
24:23Stops the clock with 23.8 to go in the opening quarter.
24:27He'll get two.
24:29One of the highlights of the Orlando season amidst all the injuries was their trip to Germany earlier this season
24:38to play against Memphis over there.
24:42And the Wagner brothers really took an equity stake in the team on that trip.
24:48Taking a lot of pride in where they were in their home country and showing their teammates around as we
24:55take a look at the upcoming play-in tournament schedule.
24:57The SoFi play-in tournament Tuesday on Prime at 7.30 p.m. Eastern time and then the second game
25:03at 10 o'clock.
25:04More on Wednesday at 7.30 and 10 p.m. Eastern time as well.
25:09More on these games.
25:10Please go to NBA.com or visit the NBA app.
25:17Knocks down the second.
25:18Orlando now in the midst of an 11-0 sprint.
25:33That's going to be a foul on the push by Batazze.
25:39With 4.3 to go.
25:45That's going to be two shots.
25:48Nope, I don't think they're there.
25:50That's exactly right.
25:51First and the last couple minutes, yeah.
25:53Garza coming back into the ballgame for Joe Mazzullo.
25:58Brown's trying to communicate here what they want defensively.
26:08That's a trigger.
26:11Harper Jr. got open and got shot by Anthony Black.
26:14And he'll get a couple of shots already with a prolific opening 12 minutes for him.
26:19He's got 10.
26:21What'd you say?
26:22Scared money don't make money.
26:24Yeah.
26:24Brown Harper Jr. doesn't look scared, has he?
26:26Not at all.
26:28I think his younger brother, Dylan, may have fired him up a little bit earlier.
26:32He's working against the clock.
26:33They start that play as soon as the ball is touched.
26:35That four seconds starts clicking.
26:39He told me that his younger brother, Dylan, who plays for the Spurs, of course,
26:42called him earlier, wished him a happy birthday, and called him old, Doris Burke, at 26.
26:49Harper Jr. shot back at Dylan saying,
26:51hey, you're not even old enough to rent a car yet.
26:53You're just 20, so pump your brakes.
26:56Age is relative, Mark.
26:58Yes.
26:58What frustrates me about you is that in the 36-plus years you've been on our air,
27:03I don't feel like you've aged.
27:04I think you said there's snow on the top, but fire in the gut.
27:07Yeah, a little gray spickles up top there.
27:12Harper Jr. knocks down to second.
27:15Wagner, and that prayer goes right to voicemail.
27:19End of the first 12 minutes, sees the Orlando Magic leading by nine.
27:23They've got a win to keep their hopes alive for the number six seed
27:27in a guaranteed playoff spot.
27:29Back with the second quarter right after this break.
27:40Tonight's access brought to you by Scott's.
27:42I'm here with Paolo Bencaro, and Paolo, Coach, said during this five-game win streak,
27:46there were two things that were elite, your pace and connection.
27:49How was that on display in the first quarter?
27:51I think it's been pretty good.
27:52We've been defending pretty well, guarding the three.
27:55Yeah, we just got to keep the same energy.
27:57Energy, especially on the defensive end.
27:59You went on an 11-0 run.
28:00What did you like on that side of the ball from your squad?
28:03Yeah, I think the ball is moving.
28:04Guys are sharing it, and we're getting good shots.
28:07Thanks for your time, Paolo.
28:08Thank you.
28:08Mark.
28:10All right, Angel.
28:11Bencaro has really stepped on the gas since the All-Star break offensively.
28:14Shireman through the lane and draws the foul for a couple of free throws to come.
28:22What I loved, Mark, is he was disappointed he was not named an All-Star.
28:26But instead of pointing the finger outward, he said,
28:29you know what, I haven't been good enough.
28:31Took the All-Star break, put in the work, and came back and has been a force since.
28:37And health really playing a big part in his production, too, Doris.
28:41That groin injury had no significant impact than most people would think.
28:46But at 6'10", 250 pounds, I was talking about the front line.
28:50When you put Tim Carter and Wagner on that front line, that can be problematic for opponents
28:55at both ends of the floor.
28:56As Shireman knocks down the second free throw.
28:59He has five in the ball game.
29:01Well, I love what Jamal Mosley told us before the game.
29:02Like, we can, you know, moan and complain about what could have been had we been healthy.
29:08But the fact is, there's an opportunity in front of us.
29:10And it starts tonight with the Boston Celtics.
29:13And is he going to get a third three to go?
29:15Indeed.
29:16Franz Wagner, that jumper looking wet right now.
29:20He's up to 11.
29:24Orlando finding its rhythm late in that opening quarter.
29:27Here's Shireman off the dribble handoff.
29:31And draws the foul.
29:35Nice deceleration there by Shireman.
29:38But back to Franz.
29:40And the beauty of Franz is you can play him off the ball.
29:42If you want to put the ball in his hands, you can do that, too.
29:45But he sees that defender sink right off of him.
29:48And he makes good use of it.
29:49You know, you hear people talk about how compatible he and Bancaro are.
29:55Right.
29:56Much like some of the discourse with, you know, Tatum and Jalen Brown through the years.
30:03And I find that interesting at times.
30:05Well, it's why I've made note of his jump shooting, right?
30:08Because there are two 6'10 guys who function well, you know, free throw line and down.
30:14And so you feel like the spacing might be clunky as we're going to get another offensive foul on the
30:19screen.
30:20Wow.
30:22That's going to go against Black.
30:25Third personal foul already for Anthony Black, who's on a minutes restriction.
30:29He'll go to the bench.
30:31We're talking about his precipitous improvement this year, averaging about 15 points per game.
30:37A lot of that due in part to the work he's done previous to the season with God Sham God,
30:43who's a member of Jamal Mosley's staff this year.
30:46Went down to Dallas and got going right before Summer League and continued it through the rest of the summer.
30:52And it paid dividends this year for Orlando.
30:57Let's look at God Sham Guard erstwhile with the Dallas Mavericks on their staff doors.
31:02I did a little work about an hour south of here as a collegiate, Mark Jones, if anybody knows.
31:08What school was that again?
31:10I don't know.
31:10Somewhere in the Big East.
31:14Hey, when you have a move named after you, the Sham God, you're doing something.
31:23They just took back the Wagner three, made it a long two.
31:26His foot was on the line, so he would have been better off.
31:29He was a size 14 instead of a 15.
31:32Out top.
31:35Tazi with the screen.
31:37Wagner with the mid.
31:38He got it.
31:38You see what I mean about his ability to play off the ball.
31:41So they screen for him to come get it on one of the threes.
31:44That time, he's with the basketball at the top of the floor.
31:48Up to 12 with a meter for him.
31:49Shireman countering it.
31:51The other end with a three.
31:55Shireman knocked down three threes a couple of games ago at Madison Square Garden.
31:59He's got 10.
32:01Jamal Kane from deep.
32:03And one and done for the Magic.
32:05Leading by six.
32:06Just underway here in the second quarter.
32:08And that's going to be an offensive foul against Garza.
32:13That's his second one.
32:14But let's go back to Franz's toe on the line at 6'10 with big puppies.
32:19He gives up a three.
32:21It becomes a two.
32:22And then this time, he's handling the basketball.
32:24This guy communicates on both ends of the floor.
32:26Waits patiently for the screen.
32:27Watch him look to the corner.
32:29Gets Shulgut reacting just enough into the midrange.
32:33Beautifully done.
32:33Jamal Mosley giving him seemingly, Doris, a lot of reps with the ball right now.
32:37As Kane draws the foul, he'll get two.
32:40And Mosley talked about speed tracking the chemistry and the reps to establish, you know,
32:48a little fluency between him and his teammates.
32:51And Wagner looking good here.
32:53You know, you think about it, Mark.
32:55He plays the first 24 games, has the ankle injury, and plays four games between December 9th and the end
33:02of March.
33:03And now you're going to get to that rhythm?
33:05Like, that's not going to be easy.
33:07Well, the NBA playoffs first round begins Saturday at 8.30 on ABC.
33:12This is where it gets to be real big fun.
33:18Amen.
33:19A lot of these first round matchups.
33:20None of the first round matchups have been determined yet, folks, going into the last day of the regular season.
33:25Some of the seedings are in the East, the top four.
33:28But beyond that, a lot up for grabs.
33:31Here's Garza on the elbow touch action.
33:36Shireman working against Kane.
33:40Good screen by Garza.
33:42Shireman steps back for three and hit the side of the backboard.
33:47Carter on the move.
33:49Good hustle by Shireman.
33:51Two on one the other way.
33:54Layup off the mark, but rebound and put back by Garza.
33:58And it's Garza's game.
33:59He has been tremendous on the offensive glass.
34:02He has not played a foot.
34:03That's just about, I have to work as hard as I possibly can.
34:08Sprint to the rim.
34:10The floater by Suggs is pure.
34:13Jalen Suggs gives Orlando a eight-point advantage.
34:17He's got eight in the ballgame.
34:22And on the handle out top.
34:25A couple of subs getting ready to come into the ballgame.
34:27Carter Jr. and Bankero for Jamal Mosley.
34:30Good steal by Javon Carter.
34:34That pass never made it from Suggs.
34:38Boy, Banton's been everywhere so far in this ballgame.
34:40Sprays it out for three for Tonjie.
34:43How about that possession by the Boston Celtics?
34:46How crisply the ball moved from hand to hand.
34:52Don't hold it.
34:53Move it.
34:54Play it off your defense.
34:56Banton gives it up.
34:57Gets it right back.
34:58Draws that defender in.
35:00Just excellent transition.
35:02The NBA on ESPN.
35:04Presented all season long by State Farm.
35:06It's brought to you by Advil Liquid Gels.
35:09Target's pain caused by inflammation for fast and strong relief.
35:16Well, tonight's playoff push is brought to you by Advil.
35:19We talked about six and eight through eight being fluid.
35:23The Raptors, Magic, and 76ers still with a lot to be determined.
35:30Atlanta down big in their game.
35:32No Jalen Johnson.
35:33CJ McConnell.
35:34Dyson Daniels.
35:35Or Nikhil Alexander-Walker.
35:37That's the disparity in score for them this evening.
35:41Jamal Mosley, you get the sense from people in Orlando that they came into this evening pretty much prepared to
35:48play that one play in game.
35:50Potentially against Philadelphia.
35:52At home, Wagner rounding into form.
35:56If it comes to that, it will look good on Tuesday, you would think.
35:59Keep in mind, though, that they are one and two this year, Orlando is, against the 76ers.
36:06Shireman around the screen.
36:08Garza inside.
36:09Got chopped by one.
36:11Get one free for Luka Garza.
36:16Lead down to five.
36:17Yeah, the Celtics hanging in there and playing off the screen by Garza.
36:25I'll tell you what.
36:26When you think about who they replaced, Namias Keita and Luka Garza, Chris Stapps Porzingis, Luke Cornett, and Al Horford.
36:37The deepest, best center rotation in the league a year ago for the Celtics, it was a major question.
36:44Keita has got to be at the top of the list.
36:46I think that award is probably Alexander Walker's.
36:49But Keita has made an extraordinary step.
36:51The willingness to absorb responsibility starting at the five, incredible.
36:55Angel, he's had a great journey.
36:57Angel?
36:58Absolutely, guys.
36:59But, Doris, you were also mentioning just how the Celtics have found success through this season, being depleted from just
37:05a season ago.
37:05But it's because of the roles that they have bought into, as well as the culture.
37:09And I was able to catch up with Luka Garza before the game.
37:12And he just talked about how Namias Keita also challenges him, how their journeys are very similar coming into the
37:17season.
37:17He said, we both came up through the G League, had to prove themselves through the summer league, challenge each
37:22other in preseason and training camp,
37:24but also helping and guiding each other in what the standard is to be involved in, but also being themselves,
37:29being ready for the moment.
37:30Yeah, Joe Missoula, Angel, told Nimi, hey, be ready to be a starter.
37:36It's going to be much different than it was as coming off the bench.
37:40And he's answered the challenge.
37:42Garza off the mark.
37:44Think about being undrafted coming out of the Mountain West Conference.
37:49Utah State, Keita, the former Defensive Player of the Year, started with the Stockton Kings.
37:57Refining his craft with player development coach Jimmy Allipag and Stockton and Bobby Jackson, who had their hands on him
38:05early.
38:06Come on, Mark Jones.
38:08You want to talk about a guy who's done the dirty work?
38:10Setting screens, almost 2,000 screens set.
38:13He's constantly in pick and roll.
38:15He's got a rebound in traffic.
38:17It is a thankless time, a thankless job at times, but he's been tremendous.
38:23Vankero off the mark, knocked out of bounds.
38:25It'll stay at that end.
38:27Orlando basketball.
38:28Vankero just 2 of 7 from the field on the heels of a 5-for-10 game a couple of
38:34nights ago against Chicago.
38:36Well, that'll raise your field goal percentage a little bit.
38:39Vankero with the punch.
38:41Great screen by Franz at the free throw line.
38:45Out of O'Day High School in Seattle, one of several talented players from the Seattle metropolitan area.
38:52A foul going to go against Orlando and Wendell Carter Jr.
38:56Let's watch the two bigs.
38:58Both guys 6'10 and believe that they can be formidable.
39:02Make sure if you're the screener you go hunt bodies.
39:05Oh, I'm sorry.
39:06I thought it was Franz who set the screen.
39:08It was De Silva.
39:09Excuse me.
39:11Okay, young Tristan.
39:15Shireman at the free throw line.
39:16Knocks down the first.
39:17Baylor Shireman.
39:19I was talking to Sam Cassell about his development.
39:22Yeah.
39:23And I said, Sam, your player development, when you think about him starting with the main Red Claws, right,
39:29to where he is now, speaks to your player development program.
39:32He said, Mark, you know who is in charge of player development?
39:35Joe Missoula, the head coach.
39:37It's his job to play him.
39:38And that's why it's worked out for both him individually and the team.
39:42Coach Shireman, to be honest with you, Mark, we start the year.
39:45He wasn't in the rotation.
39:46It wasn't until All-Star Game that he worked his way in.
39:50It's to Shireman's credit.
39:51Coming out of All-Star Game, almost eight points on 40% shooting.
39:55And that's in limited minutes, folks.
39:57You have to know, what are my minutes?
40:00How do I do my job in those minutes so that when Coach calls on me, I'm ready,
40:05regardless of who our matchup is?
40:10Garza back out to Bantley.
40:12Boston down by seven as we approach the midway point of the second quarter.
40:17Shireman around the Garza screen.
40:19Tough runner.
40:21And rebounded by Javon Carter.
40:24Carter surveys, finds Carter.
40:26No relation.
40:30Carter has a mismatch underneath.
40:32They get it to him.
40:34And he smoked the layup.
40:37Boy, the chippy.
40:39He was hooking Shireman.
40:41Banton on the cross.
40:42Got it packed by Suggs.
40:44Locked out of bounds.
40:45It'll come back the other way.
40:46Good defense by Jalen Suggs.
40:49I mean, this guy, just a tremendous defender.
40:53Look at that rear-view contest.
40:57The reach first, still able to recover.
41:02And Carroll on top.
41:05Suggs off the flare.
41:06They go to the other side to Da Silva.
41:09And one and done for the Magic that time.
41:11We lead by seven still.
41:12Harper Jr. had that great first quarter.
41:14Skipped pass to the corner.
41:16Banton stepped out of bounds.
41:17It's 94 by 50 feet wide.
41:20Sometimes I think we need to make it 51.
41:23There are an awful lot of guys lining to the three.
41:27It's obviously the shortest three in the league is those corner threes.
41:31That's why it's valued.
41:32But you're right.
41:33Just to like even six inches might help these guys.
41:38So, Da Silva inside got the fortuitous role.
41:43I love his game, Mark.
41:44You talk about, you know, Peyton Pritchard thriving as a starter or in a reserve role.
41:50Da Silva has proven capable in both as well.
41:53He was a key part of the German national team's gold medal winning performance in Eurobasket.
41:58That set him up for a successful NBA regular season with the Magic.
42:0414 points now for Shireman on three of eight from the field.
42:10Banquero out top.
42:13Skipped pass to the corner.
42:15Suggs.
42:16Suggs couldn't cash out.
42:18But good discernment that time by Banquero.
42:20That's what's earned him a lot of praise from his head coach.
42:26Walsh looking inside to Garza.
42:28Has a little one on him.
42:30And converts.
42:32Garza.
42:35Put Suggs in the weight room.
42:38Ten points in the ball game for Luka Garza.
42:42Less than five minutes to go.
42:43Suggs on the cross.
42:44And nobody home.
42:46Tried to hit Carter.
42:49Well, a couple guys who get a little more jack tonight.
42:53Mark Jones.
42:54Baylor Shireman's field goal attempts up.
42:56Garza working on the low post.
42:58A little bit of footwork and strength, as you said, playing through Jalen Suggs.
43:02No Jalen Brown, no Jason Tatum, no Derek White.
43:06There's available shots tonight for these Celtics out here.
43:10And Shireman filling his hat, as is Garza.
43:13As is Harper Jr.
43:16Walsh had a notion.
43:18Four on the shot clock for Shireman.
43:22Suggs had the clamps on him, and they get the stop.
43:27Quickly up to Banqueiro, who's got seven here in the first half.
43:31The first to Suggs.
43:32One more.
43:33Da Silva drives the closeout.
43:36We're going to have a blocking foul against Garza.
43:40And that'll be two shots for the Magic.
43:43I think Garza felt like he was set on that one.
43:49I tend to agree on that.
43:52Take it from this angle.
43:54Feet down, takes it in the chest.
43:57No sign from Boston that they're going to challenge.
44:03An incredulous look from Luka Garza.
44:10He's thrilled to get an opportunity this year with the Boston Celtics coming over from Minnesota.
44:15Folks, it comes down to this.
44:16Tap into the end of the regular season in the NBA app.

44:23Go behind the scenes at the Moments tab, and tap to watch games live.
44:28Download the app today.
44:31If we don't already have it.
44:33Which we do.
44:35Keeping tabs at the scores around the league on this, the last day of the NBA's regular season.
44:43Who would have thought the Boston Celtics, who started one for four, and looked completely scattered,
44:48would end up with 55 wins.
44:52I think about the phone call, Doris, that Joe Mazzulla made to Derek White on Derek White's birthday this summer.
44:59He said, Derek, a lot of people think we're going to stink this year.
45:03We're not.
45:05Imbuing White with confidence.
45:07It had a ripple effect amongst the team as they got to work.
45:11Jalen Brown actually spent most of his summer in Boston, Doris.
45:16He usually likes to travel abroad and go to exotic places for personal enrichment.
45:23He decided to stay in Boston and greet a lot of the new players when they arrive for training camp
45:30and establish his leadership voice even more.
45:33Leadership takes many forms.
45:35For Derek White, he has been one of the guys who Jalen Brown, by his performance, has elevated.
45:43I mean, career highs for Derek, and points, assists, steals, and blocks.
45:4988 steals, 98 blocks, and 200 threes.
45:55I mean, you know, the efficiency hasn't always been there,
45:58and I think his shot profile more than anybody else will be different because of the return of Jason Tatum.
46:05Are you concerned with him shooting just 33% from deep?
46:08I'm not because I think in the playoffs, the opportunity for catch-and-shoot is going to be there a
46:14lot more often.
46:15Wagner kicks it out to Suggs.
46:18Wagner relocates from deep.
46:20And one and done that time.
46:22Garza with the board.
46:23Quick hit ahead to Banton.
46:25Walsh pulls the three on the catch-and-shoot left at short.
46:29Orlando leading by five.
46:31Less than three and a half to go in the first half.
46:34Suggs had a notion, then reloads and connects.
46:37Jalen Suggs forcing a Boston timeout with 11 points now in the ballgame.
46:43Feels like when they've needed a little bit of momentum, Jalen Suggs has been able to knock down a shot.
46:48This is his third three of the evening.
46:55Hello, everyone, and welcome to this season's debut of the NBA Today.
46:59I'm Mark Jones.
47:15So, Mark Jones, I talked earlier about...
47:18Oh, my gosh.
47:18Yeah, over three decades, every big sport at the company.
47:24But obviously, anybody who knows you knows that this league is your passion project.
47:28It's your favorite of all of those moments you've called.
47:31Do you have one or two that just you'll hold near and dear to your heart?
47:35The first time I came on air at ESPN on the NBA Today was something extremely special.
47:43Garza inside.
47:45And with Dr. Jack Ramsey.
47:47Oh, yeah.
47:48Dr. Jack Ramsey and working with him.
47:51And so many greats.
47:53And I think about that in the NBA Finals in 2022 with the Warriors against the Celtics and so many
48:03of those LeBron games.
48:05I mean, the winner that he knocked down there against the Raptors.
48:09And I remember that one quarter he had against the Raptors up in Toronto, the game that gave birth to
48:15me, spitting out LeBron.
48:17And I'm happy for the forgiveness of Toronto fans.
48:21They've forgiven me for LeBron.
48:23But those are some of the top ones.
48:25It's been fun working with Hubie Brown on those games, working with yourself.
48:29Everyone's great.
48:29It's tough to pick.
48:30It's like your favorite child.
48:32You don't have one.
48:32I no longer need a dictionary, at least when I work with you, because of Vunkular.
48:37And there's one P word for sip.
48:40What's the word?
48:41Precipitous.
48:42Precipitous.
48:43Yes.
48:43Yes.
48:44Yeah.
48:45Singular vocabulary, Mark Jones, in a unique style that I will always remember, my friend.
48:51I told you my dad used to make my older brother who works for the Raptors, Paul and I, read
48:56the dictionary and get tested at the dinner table.
48:59So for a guy that lived to be 93 that was fluent in Latin and Spanish, I mean, it wasn't
49:08always fun at the dinner table.
49:09But it helped me in this profession.
49:15So it's bringing it up court.
49:16Hey, what about Boston?
49:1915 of 15.
49:20And thank you to all the people, Doris, like yourself, that have been a great part of my journey, an
49:27important part.
49:27Thank you.
49:28Thank you.
49:29I can't say it enough.
49:30Much love, Mark Jones.
49:31It's been an honor.
49:33Harper Jr.
49:36I've been around so long.
49:37I was in the league when his dad was young.
49:40Inside.
49:41Misses the shot.
49:42Suggs with the rebound.
49:47Vanquero and one.
49:50Putting that 250 pounds of shoulder beef, shoulder cut.
49:56So remember what Angel talked about, that in this run for the Orlando Magic, little bit of pace to their
50:01game.
50:01And we keep talking about it.
50:03Look at the frame of this guy.
50:05And he's just navigating.
50:06Right?
50:07At 6'10", he's got the ball in his hands.
50:09He looks comfortable with the dribble.
50:11And just approaching the rim and trying to make the right read once he gets there.
50:17Completes the three-point play.
50:18A 77% free-throw shooter on the season.
50:21You know, the best thing about Vanquero is that if you look at his numbers over the years,
50:24he's increased his production in the playoffs.
50:28Oh, my God, last year, I think it was, you know, almost 30 points per game, he averaged.
50:34And from the elbow, picked up his dribble.
50:38Andrzej off the mark, rebounded by Bataze and up to Suggs.
50:4211-point lead with 90 seconds to go.
50:45Vanquero fought about the three.
50:48On the reload, off the mark.
50:51Back out to De Silva on the show-and-go.
50:53And nobody home on the lob.
50:56Desmond Bain calling for a foul underneath.
50:59Harper Jr. from deep.
51:00Got it!
51:02I love his level of aggression, Mark.
51:04Just making the read.
51:06He's getting the ball.
51:07He's pushing the pace.
51:08He's coming up the floor.
51:09He's saying, nobody is reacting to me.
51:1115 points in the ballgame for Ron Harper Jr.
51:14Celebrating his birthday today and another three at the other end by Suggs.
51:18He's finding his offensive rhythm here.
51:20He's four of nine from deep.
51:2214 in the game for him.
51:23Under a minute to go in the first half.
51:26Some angle pick and roll by Banton and Garza.
51:29He launches the three.
51:33Celtics take a lot of those.
51:35They love that above the break three.
51:39Well, stay tuned for halftime presented by Hyundai.
51:43Ernie, Kenny, and Charles and Shaq breaking it down like a fraction.
51:47In the studio on this, the last day of the NBA's regular season.
51:52I love those guys.
51:53That was really sweet.
51:54Three games.
51:55Speaking to the three of them indoors.
51:57Of course, it's a great pleasure and joy, selfishly, for me to be going out on the same team with
52:05those guys who are Hall of Famers.
52:07Yeah, pretty cool.
52:08It's no question.
52:09Having them in the studio is very exciting for all of us.
52:12I mean, how many?
52:12I talk about your 36 years.
52:14It feels like those guys have been together as a band forever.
52:17Yeah, it's not a night for NBA if those guys aren't getting us all set and putting us to bed
52:25at the end of it, too.
52:26I just want to stay off Shaqton the Fool.
52:29I don't want any part of that.
52:32It's different now because now when you leave it on the channel and they put you to sleep at night
52:36on the postgame show, right, you don't wake up to Charmed anymore.
52:40It's an ESPN SportsCenter.
52:42That's true.
52:43You used to wake up to Charmed.
52:49Never watched a lot of Charmed, but went to bed with those guys in the studio all the time.
52:53Ten-point ballgame, 33.7 to go.
52:57Remember, Orlando still with a chance to get to the number six seed with the win, but they need some
53:02help from Brooklyn, who's taking on Toronto right now.
53:06So, Jamal Mosley's faced a lot of heat and criticism under the discerning eyes of the fandom in Orlando, but
53:17I think he gets a mulligan when you consider the litany of infirmities and injuries they've had this year.
53:26Hard to win if you don't have your guys.
53:28Right.
53:28You see the impact in this first half that Franz has had, right?
53:31I mean, feeling to go to the cup and shoot it.
53:35Harper Jr. leading the break.
53:36Three on two.
53:37Got deep in the paint and finishes.
53:40Boy, Ron Harper Jr.
53:41out here, career-in tonight.
53:4417 in the first half.
53:48Magic can run it all the way down.
53:52Vanquero.
53:53Wow.
53:54Put his shoulder down.
53:55That's going to be a blocking foul against Tonje.
54:00Boy, Tonje was so quick.
54:02I thought he might have gotten there.
54:04But you see the block on one end turn and sprint in the other direction.
54:08I keep saying it, his level of aggression and ability to read that nobody has stopped the basketball.
54:15So he's taken advantage as a three-point shooter in transition and a couple of times all the way to
54:20the rim.
54:24Remember, if you're just joining us, no Tatum, no Jalen Brown, no Derek White today for the Celtics.
54:31But Boston hanging in there.
54:33Vanquero knocks down the first free throw.
54:3577% from the line this season.
54:38No Peyton Pritchard.
54:40No Nikola Vucevic.
54:45When the Celtics came out for warm-ups, the layup line was not deep.
54:49Very short.
54:50Couldn't run all the way back to half court.
54:5312 points of the ball game for Vanquero.
54:57A little full court pressure here by the Magic, making them use some time on the clock.
55:02Harper Jr. with a head of steam bottled up.
55:05He'll get it off in time.
55:07And that's the end of the first 24 minutes of play.
55:11Harper Jr. with 17 to lead the way for the undermanned Celtics.
55:17Shireman with 14.
55:19Suggs with 14 for the Magic.
55:22And Franz Wagner also with 14 for Orlando.
55:26The Magic trying to stay out of the sometimes treacherous play-in tournament.
55:31They lead by nine.
55:33Ernie and the gang chopping it up at halftime in just a moment.
55:40The Orlando Magic with Franz Wagner.
55:45Wagner, I'm here.
55:46Ernie, the Wagner boys are back.
55:4861-52.
55:49Thought that wasn't too well, Ernie.
55:50We thought that wasn't too well.
55:52This is Orlando's lead.
55:54It's NBA halftime.
55:55Presented by Hyundai.
55:57Ernie Johnson with Shaq and Kenny and Chuck.
55:59Orlando needs to win this game and have Toronto lose.
56:02And they will be in the playoffs.
56:04We'll keep you up to speed on all that as we go.
56:07Let's take a look at the epic moment.
56:09Brought to you by the National Anthem.
56:12Epic moment.
56:14Franz, Roland Shuggs, and Paulo Banqueiro.
56:17Combining for 40 of the 61 Orlando points.
56:22And again, Orlando at 45 and 36.
56:25And trying to do what they can do.
56:27And hope that something happens to Toronto up there against Brooklyn.
56:31We really don't have any in-depth breakdowns of this first half.
56:35Boston playing with nobody.
56:38But we do have, I understand, Shaq has pictures.
56:41Yes.
56:42I just want to say congratulations to Rory McIlroy.
56:45Yes.
56:45For winning the Masters.
56:47This beautiful putt right here.
56:48Yes.
56:49That we never got to see.
56:51But I just want to say, America, Charles Barkley acts like he is a golf expert.
56:55Charles Barkley can't even beat me in golf.
56:57I'll beat you.
56:58As you see right here.
56:59This is a 45 putt that I had to win.
57:01And watch this, America.
57:03I am the best golfer on this set.
57:04Don't you forget.
57:05Let it look.
57:05Bubba, watch it.
57:06Bubba is my guy.
57:07Yep.
57:08A.K.
57:08Kim, what's up, baby?
57:09Watch this, Ernie.
57:1045 footer.
57:11Hey, Anthony Kim is back, Shaq.
57:12Look at that, Ernie.
57:13Look at it, Ernie.
57:14I see it.
57:14Pay attention, Ernie.
57:15That's a perfect read.
57:16And that's how you putt.
57:16Did you jump in the water?
57:17Nope.
57:18He got attention, Chuck.
57:19Looked like he thought about it.
57:21Yeah.
57:21Well, you know what they call me, Ernie?
57:23What's that?
57:23Uh, no.
57:24Rory Black-O-Roy.
57:28You can't even beat me.
57:30That's Rory Black-O-Roy.
57:32You can't even beat me, Chuck.
57:34That's well done.
57:36That's well done.
57:37Yeah, 45 foot.
57:38We were playing with Anthony Kim.
57:41Did he win?
57:43We don't ask you all that.
57:44Did he win?
57:45It was a pun.
57:46Did he win?
57:47It was a pun.
57:48Did he win?
57:49Yes, he did.
57:50Oh, thank you.
57:51That face says it all.
57:53So, I'm the expert on the set.
57:54I'm the golf expert on the set, America, not you.
57:57All right, let's update you on the Toronto Raptors at home against the Brooklyn Nets.
58:06Well, if Toronto wins this game, they're assured of a playoff spot and possibly five if Atlanta
58:12loses tonight, there is a Brandon Abram.
58:14Oh, okay, Brandon.
58:16That was a great addition for them.
58:18Yes.
58:19Shout out to my father, Messiah Ejiri, who made that happen.
58:22Yeah.
58:22And that's what America, that guy's one of the best players in the NBA, Scottie Barnes.
58:27Yes, I love that kid.
58:28If he played on a really good team, he'd be all NBA.
58:32He's making his team really good.
58:34Raptors shot 67% in the first half.
58:38Jakob Hurdle.
58:39Oh, what a pass.
58:41That was not a hard pass.
58:44He's a good player.
58:46Oh, what a pass.
58:47Like, oh, gosh.
58:48Passes in tight spaces.
58:50That wasn't going to be important.
58:51Now, who they going to play if they win, Ernie?
58:54It depends.
58:55Watch this pass, y'all.
58:56Yeah, what a pass.
58:57Depends.
58:58I'm stuck.
58:58Oh, what a pass.
58:59That's not a tough pass.
59:01Oh, jeez.
59:02Two feet.
59:03How many games have you watched, man?
59:05I didn't watch that first half of our game.
59:07Oh, what a pass.
59:07They would play the Knicks.
59:08No, it depends.
59:09If they're five or six, it depends.
59:11Either they're going to get Cleveland or they're going to get the Knicks.
59:13They go home and they play the Knicks.
59:15You can't beat either one of them, I don't think.
59:17Whatever.
59:18Oh, what a pass.
59:19You're watching NBA Halftime presented by Hyundai.
59:23Yes, Roy Swackalroy.
59:25Put that on the T-shirt.
59:26Guy made one putt.
59:28Something tells me it's already on a T-shirt.
59:31Put that on a T-shirt.
59:35All right.
59:37Later tonight, you will see the Joker as he hits the 65-game minimum for postseason awards.
59:43You will not see Wemby, who's already there.
59:46You'll see Denver and San Antonio here on ESPN.
59:50All right.
59:50Продолжение следует...
