01:59I think it's going to get interesting with this really hungry race car driver on the inside of the front
02:05row to tie Gibbs going for his first win. It's all going to come down to this restart zone and
02:11whether he can get those rear tires hooked up. He's trying to roll to him a little bit. Oh, he
02:15did. He got a great restart right here. Blaney tried to check him up and tie Gibbs didn't go for
02:20it.
02:26Here comes Larson, his outside.
02:30Yeah, it's super interesting that that guys can make that rubbered up outside lane work so quickly, but Larson made
02:38it work right there again.
02:42Gilliland and Logano working the top side.
02:45Josh Berry right there got up into the wall off a turn two.
02:49Yep.
02:53Berry going to the back.
03:00Yeah, and you see some smoke coming out of that right front tire.
03:05Not a very good day.
03:06Joey Logano, interesting line.
03:08Look at how he drifts way up toward the wall.
03:10And that has him really wound up for the run down the back straightaway.
03:14And he gains a car length on Gibbs going into three.
03:16Yeah, and a lot of times as this top lane rubbers up, especially through one and two, I talked about
03:21it earlier with those bumps in the middle of the corner.
03:23They'll actually get rubbered up and you'll drive in a little bit straighter, try to drive up to them.
03:28He didn't go as high that time, but he exited a little bit lower and that gets you below that
03:32bump off a turn two.
03:34So you can go below it or above it off the corner and in the middle, you can try to
03:38go above that bump.
03:39So it just depends on where your car is handling.
03:42Meanwhile, Todd Gilliland is holding his own up there after taking just two tires, Regan.
03:47Yeah, Mike, what a call by Crew Chief Chris Lawson to do that.
03:51Just to update how that car's been for the past little bit.
03:53He needed some turn and rear stability earlier on.
03:56They managed to work on that, get it to where it was good.
03:59The last run, just a little bit free.
04:01I got to wonder if he was just a little free, if that helped their decision to try the two
04:04tires.
04:04Keep in mind, he was running in the top 13 there that entire last run.
04:08That car started 35th.
04:10It's a beat just to keep it on the lead lap early on in the race.
04:12Yeah, he's done a great job holding on to fourth place right now.
04:16And with a good gap, back to Lugano.
04:20Hosobar and Hamlin for sixth place with Chase Briscoe with him.
04:26Yeah, we've seen that 11 car, Denny Hamlin, kind of drop back a little bit during this run so far.
04:37Let's go back to Josh Berry right here and what happened to him.
04:42Got a little help here, Kevin, getting into the corner on that restart.
04:50I think we're going to show it.
04:53I think we had a little bit of hiccup there.
04:56Oh, here it is.
04:58He slipped up and then he got run over.
05:02Yeah, well, he didn't slip up much.
05:04Well, you saw, no, I mean, he kind of checked up, right?
05:06Tried to check up right there and just got into the back bumper, that 21 of Josh Berry.
05:11It's too bad he had a decent day going.
05:13Yeah, and it's pretty much ended his day.
05:16He's going to go a lap down right here to Blaney.
05:23These guys, they just, they're glued together, Mike.
05:26They're side by side, last several laps.
05:29No give, no take.
05:37Chris Buescher down on the inside of Chase Elliott.
05:40Sendrick right there.
05:43Yeah, you see 12th, 13th, and 14th on the bottom of our screen.
05:48I thought that that 17 and really all three of these cars, I thought they'd have a little bit better
05:53day.
05:53But we did hear Chase Elliott talk about how out of control his car was yesterday to start practice and
06:00felt like they had made it better.
06:02But kind of just an average day right here for all three of these guys.
06:10Connor Zilich has made an unscheduled pit stop.
06:12He's a lot of laps down in 33rd.
06:18Haven't heard much out of Chris Buescher here today, but
06:22there he's battling for 12th.
06:25With Cendrick and Elliott.
06:27And we heard his teammate Brad Kozlowski get a speeding penalty.
06:31That put him back to 22nd.
06:34But Ryan Preece up there in 10th position.
06:38But that's pretty typical.
06:40These guys, for the most part, all three of them, tend to overachieve on what their day starts out and
06:46what they get for a finish.
06:47So, Buescher, he's the same way.
06:55Denny Hamlin's finally been able to get himself around Carson Josevar as they go around that 88 car there of
07:02Connor Zilich.
07:07Jamie?
07:08Guys, you talked about Joey Logano, but this is exactly the kind of run this team needed.
07:13Yes, they had a top five last race at Martinsville, but I talked to Joey this morning.
07:17They've had five finishes, a 15th or worse this year.
07:21He said, my focus is just to be solid in the top five, get some stage points, and see where
07:26we go from there.
07:27The car overall has been pretty good, just pretty fitting in.
07:31Wanted some more rear security on that last stop, so they fixed that with a little air pressure.
07:36Well, Logano in position right now to leave here 12th in the standings.
07:41Just two behind Kozlowski, two points behind Kozlowski.
07:47Wait.
07:49Now, Ty Gibbs hanging right in there with Kyle Larson.
07:53They've been pretty much matching lap times here for the past 10 laps or so, staying at least within sight
07:59of Ryan Blaney within two seconds, that is.
08:0389 to go.
08:04How will this one sort out?
08:06Ryan Blaney leading Kyle Larson by 1.4 seconds.
08:15Mopping is hard work.
08:17Then I tried the Swiffer Power Mop.
08:19It has a built-in solution that breaks down dirt on contact.
08:22Plus, it's 360-degree swivel head, things up along baseboards, and even behind the toilet.
08:27Bye-bye, bucket.
08:28With the Swiffer Power Mop.
08:30Orla exhaust is a pipeline between driver and machine.
08:34That stadium concert sound absorbs into your chest, your shift hand, your soul.
08:40You are in the zone, fully connected with a rolling jet that breathes fire.
08:45Wendy's went back to the kitchen to give our famous spicy chicken sandwich a total upgrade.
08:50More crunch, more flavor, with heat that just hits.
08:53Is this our best spicy chicken ever?
08:55Looks like a yes to me.
08:57Spicy chicken just got better at Wendy's.
09:00Then I realized, the more you bundle, the more you save on insurance with Liberty Biberty.
09:05It's like you're talking my love language.
09:07I've been taking word classes online.
09:10Wow.
09:11Only pay for what you need.
09:12Liberty, Liberty, Liberty, Liberty.
09:1884 laps to go.
09:19Ryan Blaney in front.
09:201.4 seconds is his lead over Kyle Larson, who last year led 411 laps of this race en route
09:28to victory.
09:30Today, Larson's been out in front for 284, Blaney for 127, and Chase Elliott led six laps.
09:36Yeah, and I think Larson has actually overachieved with his car today.
09:40It just, that loose handling condition that we saw in practice has kind of carried over from what he's been
09:46saying on the radio.
09:48But he's just so good at this racetrack, Clint, to be able to manipulate the car, whether it's on the
09:53bottom or the top of the racetrack, so good in traffic that kind of covers up for some of the
09:58flaws that it has.
09:59And I'm listening to you say that, and I'm seeing loose conditions with this low downforce package that we have
10:05at this year's race in Bristol.
10:07And that points me right into Larson's direction.
10:10Guess who else?
10:11Clear high.
10:12Blaney.
10:13But to your point, overachieving in the car, you know, I always tend to look at the teammates, too, and
10:18how you're stacking up against your group with Hinderkamp.
10:21And you're right.
10:22He is overachieving.
10:23Yeah.
10:24I mean, you got Chase Elliott in 14th and Alex Bowman's last, and William Byron's 31st.
10:33All right, you're 420 laps into this race.
10:36You've been pulling three Gs laterally and three Gs down into the seat now for a whole lot of laps.
10:44What hurts first?
10:46Well, I would tell you that my shoulder, my right shoulder would always hurt first because of it's not typically
10:53getting that much, as much constant load as it will here at Bristol because of all those G-forces.
10:59And you'll squish down, and you'll see it right here with Chase.
11:01You're starting to see his head bend as he goes into the corner.
11:05It gets straight.
11:06It almost looks like he's looking at the right front when I'm watching him.
11:09Look at that right shoulder.
11:11Oh, hang on to it there, Chase.
11:15Just buried in the seat, isn't it?
11:17Yeah, your shoulder just gets buried in the seat right there.
11:19And as you're doing so much of the turning while that load is at its maximum level, it just winds
11:25up right on the ball of your shoulder right there and winds up being hurt.
11:28It winds up hurting by the time the race is over, or mine did.
11:33Oh, boy, he's got his hands full.
11:39Regan has more.
11:41Well, Mike, just to add on something that might be hurting some drivers right now, and I can tell you
11:45I've had this happen at Bristol.
11:46It is not fun.
11:48A.J. Allmendinger in the 16 car.
11:50His feet have been on fire for the majority of this race, struggling with the heat on the pedals.
11:55So much so, he's asking for some ice as soon as the race is over for those feet that he's
12:00complaining about.
12:00Doing a nice job, though.
12:01Running 13th and moving forward right now.
12:03Yeah, and that is not something that is 100% typical in this car.
12:07With the old car, you know, your feet used to get super hot and all the things that would happen
12:12down there.
12:12You know, he had booties on.
12:13It got to the point in this car where I didn't even wear heel booties.
12:16So, that's a little bit surprising to me that his feet are that hot.
12:20Larry Mack?
12:21Yeah, talking about Kyle Larson in that five.
12:23You know, a little bit off of Ryan Blaney right now in that 12.
12:27Kyle running second.
12:28We're about 40 laps into this run with close to 70 laps to go.
12:31He just told Cliff Daniels, you have not fixed the rear of the car.
12:36Now, my car is not turning.
12:37But one observation, he is using a lot more brake than Blaney and Ty Gibbs.
12:43And Ty Gibbs is right there.
12:46Yeah, the brake pedal at this track is not your friend.
12:50And that's one of the things that I was talking about earlier with Larson.
12:54He's able to manipulate the car with the pedals.
12:57But when you have to use a lot of brake here, it puts a lot of stress on the right
13:02rear tire
13:03because you've got to get the mid-corner speed back up.
13:05And then that shoves the back of the car around to the three-quarter mark.
13:08And then it wants to snap.
13:10It's loose into the corner, using a lot of brake, trying to keep the thing underneath of you,
13:14getting into the corner, having to low up the speed.
13:17And you can see it wag its tail quite a bit throughout the corner, starting with the entrance.
13:21I love the telemetry here.
13:23At no point in the lap are these drivers hardly at all going less than 100 miles an hour.
13:31You know, one of the things is that you asked about, you know, what hurts.
13:36And you get crampy, believe it or not.
13:39As you start to get dehydrated and running out there, you start to kind of cramp up.
13:43And for me, that's the most uncomfortable feeling, really, is just needing to stretch and get out
13:49and move around a little bit.
13:50Now, Kevin, you talked about your shoulder.
13:52Denny Hamlin decided to forego shoulder surgery in the offseason.
13:58He injured his shoulder.
13:59He says, nope.
13:59He says, I'm not going to have time to get it repaired and get it healed before Daytona.
14:04I'm just going to race this season and then attend to it.
14:07This must be an especially tough day for him.
14:10Yeah, I mean, it can definitely, it can make, it can expose those types of problems
14:14in ways that they hadn't been exposed before.
14:16So, you know, I think Denny does a good job in taking care of himself.
14:20But the other thing, the other thing here, too, is just trying to make yourself not grip
14:27the steering wheel, not hold on.
14:29I was really finicky about when my gloves would start to sweat and how they would grip
14:33the steering wheel and work with Max Pappas a lot on what type of steering wheel I needed,
14:37what type of grip I needed on my gloves, Ty Gibbs getting loose right there.
14:41But you just, you don't realize the grip that you need on the steering wheel to keep yourself
14:46relaxed and not get tired and those cramps in your forearms and hands.
14:53Tyler Reddick trying to get past Joey Logano, almost hit, didn't quite have him cleared.
14:58And Logano gets such a good run off the top of the racetrack.
15:01Going to be a hard pass to put away.
15:04In fact, Logano may get back by him here.
15:06Depends on where Michael McDowell goes, I guess.
15:11Maybe Reddick can use him as a pick.
15:14Well, Reddick's done a nice job.
15:15Both of these guys have done a nice job of, whoa, Michael McDowell loose right there.
15:21Reddick into the back of him.
15:23Blew his doors off both sides.
15:37But anyway, back to my point.
15:39Both of these guys have done a great job today.
15:40Tyler Reddick overcoming the penalty.
15:43Logano getting his car handling and getting the track position that they need to put themselves
15:47up in the top ten.
15:48Not as good as they were earlier.
15:49Both of them up closer to the top five.
15:52But still, for the 22, they've been solid most of the day.
15:56Sixty laps to go coming up around the turn.
15:59The NHRA Winter Nationals are next here on FS1.
16:03And next Sunday, a racing doubleheader on Fox.
16:06The Cup Series is at Kansas at 2 p.m.
16:10IndyCar is at Long Beach at 5.30.
16:12And you will see it all on Fox, NASCAR, and IndyCar next Sunday.
16:20You excited about that, Clint?
16:23I am.
16:24I'm always excited to go back home.
16:25But more importantly, for NASCAR to go back home to Kansas, that's become really one of
16:30our best tracks.
16:31Look at Ty Gibbs.
16:31Look at the outside of Kyle Larson for second.
16:36Got him.
16:37He's certainly got him where he wants him.
16:39And nobody in front of them right now as far as lap traffic.
16:46Right now.
16:48Back inside, very bottom.
16:50Barely.
16:50Barely.
16:51Got him.
16:52So Gibbs to second place, two and a half seconds behind.
16:55Leader Ryan Blaney.
16:57Coming up on a bunch of traffic.
16:59Yeah, Blaney is in heavy traffic right here.
17:02Look at this.
17:03You see him three wide going through the middle of that corner now on the inside of Austin Dillon.
17:08And this is where you keep an eye on this right here.
17:12Austin Dillon trying to stay on the lead lap.
17:16Just ahead is teammate Kyle Busch.
17:18Two down.
17:21The way Blaney's car turns that bottom, it's enabling him to just pick through these lappers at will.
17:26And that's going to be a huge benefactor.
17:30Keeping those guys from being able to capitalize on catching him in lap traffic.
17:35Last race winner, Chase Elliott.
17:37May go a lap down right here.
17:40Yeah, I was thinking this earlier when I saw Connor Zillage yesterday's winner in the O'Reilly series up against
17:46the wall and on pit road and laps down.
17:48And thinking about the start of his cup season and what a struggle it's been for him.
17:52Now we see Chase Elliott, winner from Martinsville, come to Bristol a lap down.
17:57It just does not take much for you to be off.
18:00And especially here at Bristol.
18:02Sure doesn't.
18:03How about Todd Gilliland?
18:04He is still holding on to fourth place.
18:06And he's been holding off Carson Josevar here for a few laps.
18:10That two-tire call has turned out to be a great one.
18:14Now, Todd's never finished top five on a short track in a cup race today.
18:19Just might be the day.
18:21The old tires just aren't really wearing out.
18:29Well, it's like we talked at the beginning of the race.
18:31They were just...
18:34There were two cars, Chase Elliott and...
18:37I can't remember the other right now, Josh Berry, that stayed out and didn't take tires.
18:42And were able to keep themselves up in the front of the pack.
18:45And that really allowed, you know, a decision like they made with this 34 car in Todd Gilliland
18:50to be able to take that chance and paying off for him big time.
18:54Yeah, great run for the third-generation driver.
18:57All right, Blaney.
18:59Underneath his teammate, Austin Sendrick.
19:02The 17th-place car now draws a beat on Brad Keselowski.
19:09Larson now three-and-a-half seconds back in third.
19:19A little squeeze play there.
19:21Yeah, you saw the 35 car get into the door of the 47 and kind of bounce back to the
19:25left.
19:25And then Larson got into his left ear.
19:28So, you'll see these cars, the 35 and 47, make contact.
19:37Just kind of the way it goes here at Bristol.
19:39No harm, no foul right there.
19:41Ryan Blaney had a 3.2-second lead before getting into the traffic, his largest of the day.
19:48Currently, Larry, he's 1.3 seconds up on Ty Gibbs.
19:51That is shrinking a bit.
19:55And this just happened.
20:03Oh, big moment, Clay.
20:07And that cut Blaney's lead from almost two seconds in half.
20:11Well, think about this, guys.
20:12When this car qualified yesterday, and you opened the show with this, Mike,
20:16his first lap as we go on board with Ryan Blaney.
20:21Oh, man.
20:22That is all but wrecked.
20:23But the thing that you talked about, his first qualifying lap, sideways, made it work the second lap.
20:29Clint, you talked about the back of that car moving around and him starting to struggle with it.
20:34And then, bam, that moment happens right there.
20:38Well, that moment almost made my trends come to fruition.
20:42But I have caught an audible.
20:44I'm not going to tell you about Bristol trends.
20:45I looked at the first seven races of 2026, Daytona to Martinsville.
20:50We've had one overtime, that was the Echo Park Speedway in Atlanta.
20:54But the average of the last caution, 39 laps to go.
20:58That would be lap 461 here at Bristol today, which is about two laps from now.
21:05Two laps from now.
21:06Okay.
21:07I like your trends, but I like what I'm seeing out of Gibbs.
21:09Here's your opportunity, kid.
21:11Go to the whip.
21:11Run him down.
21:14Yeah, he lost a half a second on blood in the water in the previous lap.
21:17And now he's having to go through that traffic that the 12-car Ryan Blaney is still only a second
21:24and a half back right here.
21:25As you see, Blaney right up in front of him, stuck behind Daniel Suarez.
21:29Same two cars that gave him fits when he almost wrecked.
21:32Now listen to how much Ty Gibbs is out of the throttle on the entry right now.
21:37Leave it now to Larson.
21:38Everything front.
21:43This is all about managing traffic, as efficient as you can be.
21:47Yeah, and right now the trick is lose as little time as possible, right?
21:53Like, you just, when you get to a lap car, if you can get to him just a couple tenths
21:57better than Ryan Blaney gets to him,
21:59then you're going to make up ground.
22:00But Blaney's struggling up there in front of him, Clint.
22:03You can see he's the next car on the bottom of the racetrack.
22:06So Ryan Blaney is not having success getting through that group of cars.
22:13Ryan Blaney has not won a cup race at Bristol on two occasions.
22:17He's been leading and got into trouble.
22:19We're lapping up to 14th place, and those positions are racing for a really, really valid car.
22:25Right?
22:26They're battling hard for position.
22:28Those lappers are extremely hard to lap.
22:31How about the second place car, Regan?
22:33Well, Mike, just to add on what Ty Gibbs is doing right now, since the start of this run,
22:37Crew Chief Tyler Allen and spotter Tony Hirschman have been wearing out the radio buttons,
22:41telling him, run your race, run your pace, manage your tires.
22:45This is still going to be a long run, and he's been doing a very nice job of that.
22:48We'll have to see if it was enough to be able to catch that 12th car.
22:53He's got 34 laps to do it.
22:55Not what he wanted to see there.
22:57That's going to hold him up.
22:59Timing is everything when you're catching these lappers at this place.
23:03Hosobar, fourth.
23:05Working traffic.
23:07Briscoe in fifth.
23:17Yeah, Briscoe, he's been super quiet today.
23:20He's been in the top five and right around it all day, but hasn't done anything spectacular.
23:25Just done what he needed to do to keep that track position, have solid restarts, and not make any mistakes.
23:31Yeah, he's been as high as second in this race.
23:34He's not been one of its three leaders, but a good solid day for the 19 crew.
23:47Ty Gibbs, Carson Hosobar in that top five, both gunning for their first career win.
23:57Well, as is Todd Gilliland, I wouldn't call him a favorite, but I wouldn't count anybody out right now.
24:04No, and you see Denny Hamlin on the inside right there.
24:07And I think Todd, you know, he's starting to fade just a little bit with those two tires.
24:13But in the end, I still think this is going to work out to be a way better finish for
24:18them
24:18than what they would have had if they didn't make that call.
24:21Tyler Reddick comes into the picture in the 45, trying to improve on eighth place here.
24:28His average running position today has been 19th, and here he is inside the top ten because of that call.
24:33Wow.
24:34Hey, the leader just got held up big time behind Keselowski.
24:37Watch this.
24:37Look at this.
24:38He's catching him quick right here.
24:40Yeah, he's a slip slide there in the last corner.
24:42And there you see second place up at the top of the screen.
24:46Shut the door on your leader Blaney.
24:48Held him up.
24:49That was a lot of time lost.
24:57Yeah, it seems like that Blaney's car has to be absolutely perfect with what he has to do with the
25:03throttle
25:03and the things to keep the back from snapping out from underneath it.
25:06Makes it turn really well, but if he doesn't get it perfect, that back snaps out from underneath it.
25:12And I've been watching him for about the last ten laps since we saw that slip up down in one.
25:16He's made an adjustment, Kevin, and moved up to the outside of the racetrack.
25:19Doesn't trust that bottom anymore.
25:21I think he's made some hay.
25:23Finding some lap time again.
25:24That's a 16-21 to a 36 of Gibbs behind him.
25:29Brad Keselowski just won a lap down.
25:31He is one of, I think, just four drivers to have finished on the lead lap in every race this
25:36year.
25:37He's just gone one down.
25:38That's the best it would be for that man to see that grand baby park it in victory lane.
25:42Turn two.
25:43Around goes Chase Elliott.
25:51And Larry, that changes everything.
25:53Yes, it does, Mike, because we basically have almost 90 laps on these tires right here.
26:00We only have 13 drivers on the lead lap.
26:03I think you're going to see it all over the place.
26:08Keselowski will get the free pass, I believe.
26:10He was the first car one lap down at the moment of caution.
26:12And no contact.
26:15Just a looping, lazy spin for the number nine.
26:20See him atop your screen right at the snow coast sign.
26:23Same thing we've seen.
26:25Those cars just get over those bumps right there in the middle of that corner and lack of grip.
26:45Never quit driving it.
26:46He was good on the gas.
26:48Perfect 360 100 mile an hour slide.
26:51He was 17th one lap down.
26:53Well, this is going to get interesting, guys, because I think to Larry's point, I think you're going to see
26:58two tires.
26:59You're going to have guys that probably stay out.
27:03Kevin, well, I think is as all over the place that that was a long way to long way to
27:08run.
27:09All right.
27:10Now, here's the radio of Ty Gibbs.
27:12I don't like it.
27:13I feel you.
27:15That's what I was thinking, too.
27:20Does that mean you don't want to give it up in the pits?
27:22Are you seeing that?
27:23Now, there's only 13 lead lap cars.
27:27If I'm one of those cars up front like Ty Gibbs, I'm probably going to stay out because we are
27:32not going to have that many laps to go.
27:33And I think that's what Ty is thinking.
27:34Look who we've seen all day.
27:3621, Josh Berry, Gilliland.
27:38But, Larry, the counter to that is there's not that many lead lap cars.
27:42So, when you get tires, you might have time to get back up to the front.
27:46Josh.
27:47For Kyle Larson, the decision was to come in here and get tires as they come into the pit stall.
27:52The decision is to call for two or four tires.
27:55We're taking a look at that one.
27:57Set it to Regan.
28:02Ryan Blaney making his way around turns three and four all the way down to that very first pit stall
28:07where he's pitted.
28:08He was freer that last run on fire off, told the team that.
28:11And the question was, do you want to do code numbers, code word number seven?
28:15He said yes.
28:16So, obviously, number seven was to pit.
28:17We'll have to see if it's two or four tires.
28:19But very lonely feeling on pit road with not many cars behind him.
28:22Only eight of the 13 lead lap cars stopped.
28:29Kyle Larson is going to be first off pit road.
28:31So, he will be sixth in the running order.
28:35Because Ty Gibbs stayed out.
28:37So, did Josevar, Briscoe, Hamlin, and Reddick.
28:44Josevar, Chevy, and four Toyotas stayed out.
28:47I think Larson...
28:52beat him out of the pits.
28:54Talking about Blaney.
28:55Yes, he did.
28:56Blaney off several positions there.
28:58So, five cars stayed out, correct?
29:00Correct.
29:02Oh, what do you think, Kevin?
29:04Well, I think that that's the best case scenario for Ty Gibbs and his lead, is to get through that
29:10first lap, to be able to hold them off on the clean racetrack on the restart.
29:16So, that's where those new tires really come into play.
29:20Track trucks out, doing a bit of sweep up on the marbles.
29:27Five car took two tires.
29:28That's one reason Blaney lost a position to him.
29:33Well, who do you want to be?
29:35The fellas with the track position up front, or the fellas with the new tires about four rows back?
29:40I want to be this kid sitting in that 54 car.
29:42I told him on the pre-race there, Kevin.
29:45Tell me you're going to win this race today at Bristol.
29:47And he said, by golly, I'm going to win it.
29:49Yeah, well, it's all going to come down to this restart right here.
29:51If he can fire off and get himself in a position to where he can clear the pack.
29:55And I think that the tires will be fine.
29:58Larson back there on two tires.
30:01I think Blaney's going to be coming like a freight train, you know, to the front.
30:05And it's all going to see how it cycles out when they fan out in turns one and two.
30:08All right.
30:09The two drivers up front have never won a cup race.
30:12Do we see a first-time winner here today?
30:15My heart tells me I hope so.
30:17But my brain tells me, man, he's going to have to have a perfect restart.
30:21And he's going to have to run off and hide.
30:22But don't forget, you're probably going to have, what, 15 laps to go here.
30:26Quite a bit of racing.
30:27Probably might see a caution here.
30:29All hell's going to break loose, is what I'm trying to tell you, folks.
30:32The last fellow to do it, to be the last first-time winner at Bristol,
30:40was Kurt Busch for Jack Roush.
30:51Recently inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
30:55Well, there's a house divided.
30:59And here are the other drivers that got their first career win here at Bristol.
31:07Earnhardt, Wallace, Irvin, and Sadler.
31:09That's pretty good company.
31:11As they all went on to have great careers and multiple wins.
31:20Chase Elliott, too fast entering pit road.
31:24All right.
31:24Kyle Busch comes back in for a chassis adjustment.
31:30As we anticipated, you've got the five drivers that stayed out.
31:34Larson, Gilliland, and Priest, two only.
31:36Then you've got, like, Blaney, Logano, Bubba Wallace, Allmendinger, four tires.
31:40As we anticipated, all over the place.
31:44So is Blaney the first driver with four, Larry?
31:49That is correct, Mike.
31:51Yes.
31:52So he's going to, like you said, come on like gangbusters.
31:56Probably going to try to put him three wide as fast as he possibly can.
31:59Absolutely.
32:00It just makes it even more interesting.
32:02You have no tires, two tires, and four tires.
32:04But go back to the front row, you know, with Gibbs and it looks like Briscoe here.
32:12Briscoe is going to have the restart of his life on the bottom.
32:15We know that's not the preferred line, but get these things cleaned up.
32:18You're watching them.
32:20And I think, you know, Hosevart knows that that bottom lane,
32:23especially on these used tires, is not the place to be.
32:25And I think that's, it's really going to come down to how many cars
32:28Kyle Larson can pass on the outside.
32:30I don't like where Blaney is on the bottom.
32:33That's exactly right.
32:34I kind of agree with you there.
32:36If we don't have a big bump and run right here, I will be amazed.
32:39Well, you'll have to if you're talking about Blaney.
32:41It's your only option.
32:43All right.
32:44Ty Gibbs up top.
32:45Briscoe on the bottom.
32:47Hosevart giving Gibbs a push.
32:48And we are back to green.
32:50Not a good restart at all on the bottom.
32:52Comes Reddick on your outside.
32:54Ty to Reddick.
32:56Short track program.
32:57Yes, sir.
32:58In tact.
32:58Second place.
32:59The race is on.
33:02Hosevart third.
33:03Briscoe fourth.
33:04Larson fifth.
33:05Gives Hosevart a boot going into one.
33:08Yeah, and I think the thing that Ty Gibbs just doesn't want to see right now
33:11is that five car get clear any sooner than possible.
33:13Ty to Reddick is right there going for the lead on the bottom of the racetrack.
33:17I would not give that 45 the top of this racetrack, Clint.
33:21Blaney around the outside of Hosevart and Briscoe to come up to fourth.
33:27Side by side for the lead.
33:31They're going to have a hand full of this five as soon as they come down into turn one.
33:37The five with two tires.
33:39The 12 with four tires.
33:41And they are closing on the lead duo side by side.
33:44Where does Larson go?
33:47He holds the top.
33:49Blaney to the bottom.
33:50Coming to 11 to go.
33:52Make that baby wide.
33:53Do not slip a tire.
33:57Starting to come in on the outside for Gibbs a little bit.
34:00It's a good lap right there.
34:01Yeah, and that's the problem with those used tires is the front tires just don't turn like those sticker tires
34:06do for a few laps.
34:08And as many laps as they have, it looks like the last two laps have been pretty good.
34:14Still feel like that 12 car is going to have the best advantage on those four tires.
34:18But it's just going to come down to whether or not he can get by this five car.
34:23Larson trying the bottom as Gibbs runs the top.
34:27Blaney is there.
34:28Blaney goes to the bottom.
34:30Hunting second place.
34:31He's got the four new tires.
34:33Comes off turn two even with Larson.
34:36Sends it.
34:37I was comfortable with the five, but the 12s run better on the bottom all day long than the five
34:42has.
34:42Oh, a little bit loose right there for Ryan Blaney off of turn four.
34:46He's got the grip, though, in one and two.
34:48Race door-to-door, guys.
34:50That's what Gibbs wants to see.
34:52Stay door-to-door.
34:54The bottom lane is open for Blaney if he can get there.
34:58Not quite.
34:59So close to being able to clear him right there up off the corner.
35:02I think he's going to clear him this time, Clint.
35:05I think that puts Ty Gibbs in a bad spot right here.
35:09That 12 car is so fast on the bottom of this racetrack.
35:13Six laps to go.
35:16I don't think you dare go down and blocking, though.
35:19Stay right there in your line.
35:20Try to take the exit away from him, just like you're doing.
35:23Yeah, I mean, that's your only defense right here is to try to run the top of the racetrack.
35:28That was a great corner.
35:30What a race.
35:31Ty Gibbs trying to hold on for his first-ever cup victory.
35:35Oh, Blaney's in trouble.
35:36Good scenario for Gibbs.
35:38Come on, boy.
35:40Larson almost got into Blaney in that last corner.
35:43Larson almost got into the wall in this one.
35:45Yeah, well, he got into the back of that 12 car.
35:47I think Blaney just missed a little bit getting in the corner and tried to check up, and Larson hit
35:51him.
35:51Hit your marks, kid.
35:52Three and a half laps to go.
35:55Ty Gibbs has an O'Reilly Series championship.
35:58And a caution, in turn one, Riley Herbst brings out the yellow and will have to do it all over
36:08again.
36:10Well, that is not what...
36:12They don't ever come easy, do they, Gibbs?
36:14That is not what Ty Gibbs wanted to see right there.
36:16I mean, the one car that can really make the bottom of the racetrack work is that 12 car of
36:24Ryan Blaney.
36:24So, it's all going to come down to the launch right here and how much distance you can give yourself
36:31to the 12 car of Blaney.
36:34But good news is he's on used tires now.
36:37So, he's got hot tires as well.
36:40So, Larry, we're headed for green-white checker.
36:43We've got 15 cars on the lead lap.
36:45If I'm in the top five, I can't hear you.
36:47I'm loading equipment.
36:49I'm already putting it in the truck.
36:51I'm with you.
36:52Well, those way at the back, why not?
36:56Come try to make something happen.
37:01What a run, though.
37:02What a race between Ty Gibbs, Ryan Blaney, and Kyle Larson.
37:06Let's go back and see what happened to cause the yellow.
37:08I think I've seen these two cars at it before.
37:12Oh, goodness.
37:14Rolls reversed here, boys.
37:15Yeah.
37:18That was a payback.
37:20That was 185 laps in the making.
37:26Yeah, not the best.
37:30I still like my chances.
37:33Gibbs is going to have the preferred line on the outside.
37:35You don't want to give him that bottom with the tires.
37:38You're right, Kevin.
37:40But you're going to have to have the restart of your life.
37:42A jump.
37:42Oh, you have to give him the bottom.
37:44You just know that he's going to be as good on the bottom as anybody.
37:49All right, Austin Sendrick is the free pass.
37:51Here is some radio from fourth place.
37:53Tyler Reddick.
37:55Not happy with this choice.
37:56I made there.
37:57Gave up the least.
37:58All good.
37:59All good.
37:59Still, good day.
38:00Big picture.
38:01That's a hell of a fight.
38:01But it's not over.
38:03Those guys are all wanting to win.
38:04Pretty bad in front of you.
38:04So he got up there.
38:07He had a shot to win it.
38:08So I think they've had a great day.
38:10I know he's hard on himself.
38:12Every driver is.
38:13But they're going to come out of here with a successful day.
38:15Well, they've run better here today than they ever have.
38:18So big improvement for Reddick.
38:20And everybody knows that they needed to get better on the short tracks.
38:23And they've done that.
38:24Well, what you have to have to win championships.
38:27I mean, Kevin, you know this better than anybody.
38:29Consistency.
38:30And that's what you're seeing with the 45 team.
38:32You see the maturity and the communication there.
38:35Driver, crew chief.
38:36They believe in each other.
38:37I made a mistake.
38:38No, you didn't.
38:39It's fine.
38:40Keep going.
38:40Think big picture.
38:42Championship caliber all the way.
38:4345 car.
38:44So three cars stopped for tires.
38:47Kozlowski, Suarez, and Hamlin.
38:52So in case you missed it before we go to overtime.
38:57Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
38:58Into Brad Kozlowski.
39:00Lap 62.
39:06Lap 145.
39:07Christopher Bell in trouble.
39:10After being up near the front early.
39:15Able to continue with damage.
39:18Shane Van Gisbergen spun, collected three cars.
39:21Spent a lot of time behind the wall, but got back out there.
39:28Lap 478.
39:29Chase Elliott goes around.
39:32And just now, after Riley Herbst spun Kyle Busch at lap 313, Busch returns the favor on lap 498.
39:45This will be the first overtime we've had at Bristol since this race in 2015, when our race leader Ty
39:52Gibbs was 12.
39:56This is the excitement you come for, these fans, you're getting their money's worth right here, the money's on the
40:01line, you're going to watch them step up to the plate.
40:03This has been a great battle of strategies and race drivers who refused to lose, a couple of them that
40:10started on the front row, restarted on the front row, looking for their first cup win.
40:22Now, he was last on pit road, 95 laps earlier than Ryan Blaney getting those four tires.
40:32But I think that this right here, you just don't want to play any games, Clint, as soon as I
40:36get to the first white line, I'm going because I think that's your best case is that you've got to
40:40have a car length or so by the time you get to turn one.
40:44Try to take the bottom from him, I would think, for the first corner, if you can get clear of
40:49him.
40:50And I think that you have to be aware of Kyle Larson behind you because we saw that 54 struggle
40:56on the last restart, and we know Larson's going all the way to the top.
40:59And all it takes is one shot out of him, and he'll spin the tires, too.
41:03All right, folks, you know the rules. Here we come to overtime, sponsored by Credit One Bank.
41:09Gibbs outside of Blaney, and they're even on the restart.
41:15Got to pay attention to that five car. Do not let him to your right rear.
41:22Great job by Ty Gibbs so far. Just don't need to slip up right here. Coming to the white flag.
41:27Three wide behind him. White flag. One lap to go.
41:35Gibbs with the launch off the corner.
41:38Takes it high and a turn three. Blaney hugs the yellow line on the bottom.
41:43And it's on by side. Ty Gibbs is a NASCAR Cup Series winner.
41:47What a great, fantastic finish.
41:51Great job. Great job.
41:54Yeah, thank you, boys. Appreciate it.
41:57That one was coming. Came in a good place.
42:00The 23-year-old from Charlotte gets his first cup win in his 131st start.
42:08Thank you, boys.
42:11He becomes the 46th different driver to win at Bristol Motor Speedway.
42:18Last time the number 54 went to victory lane.
42:21Lenny Pond of Talladega in 1978.
42:24I bet you there's some tears coming out of that coach down there somewhere.
42:30Well, we've seen, we saw Ty win so many races in the O'Reilly Series and the Arca Series.
42:36And you knew he was going to have success.
42:38It just took a while to get the team right.
42:40This is not easy, Clint.
42:42You know, talk about winning races, and I love what you said about Ty.
42:45You're right.
42:46He has won.
42:47But that guy right there, there ain't many people in life that have won more games and races than that
42:51man right there.
42:52To watch your grand kid do it, that's pretty, pretty darn special.
43:07That's a big accomplishment.
43:09It really is.
43:20You believe me now, don't you?
43:22Both of Joe Gibbs' sons, J.D. and Coy, were very involved in this sport.
43:27And both have passed on.
43:28So it's his grandson, Ty, who's about to climb out of this car to carry the banner for the Gibbs
43:34family.
43:36And he's done a great job today.
43:51Of all the first-time winners we've seen, this one is really special.
43:58Never forget your first one, do you?
44:00No, you don't.
44:03And they see his crew chief, Tyler Allen, right there.
44:19He began this year composed, confident, a different Ty Gibbs than finished up last season.
44:25He was on a mission, and today it's mission accomplished.
44:34In the midst of it all is Josh Sims.
44:37Well, Ty Gibbs, you've been knocking on the door of this first career Cup Series victory for a while now.
44:44But today, you get to say you are a winner in the Cup Series.
44:49Describe the emotion.
44:50Yeah, it's awesome.
44:51You know, it's awesome what you can do with great people.
44:53And to be in this position is great.
44:55You know, I would love for my father to see this.
44:57But I knew he knew it was going to happen and expected it as well.
45:01So, yeah, it was a great day for us.
45:04My 54 boys didn't give up.
45:05Picker is just amazing.
45:07You know, this is our family.
45:09Miller!
45:10And it's been great.
45:12So, you know, this is such a great deal.
45:13You know, very honored to be in this situation.
45:15Thank you for Monster Energy.
45:17Been with me my whole career.
45:18Thank you for Mitch Covington, Dave Gallen, Helton, everybody a part of it that's been, you know,
45:23they've been with me since I was a kid.
45:24So, I really appreciate this.
45:26Woo!
45:28Ty, bring me back through the end of that race.
45:31You had to hold off Ryan Blaney.
45:33You had to hold off a two-time champion in Kyle Larson.
45:35What did it take to have the composure to bring this thing home?
45:38Yeah, you know, honestly, I didn't really care if I was going to win or not.
45:42I thought the race was awesome.
45:43I thought we were all, you know, us all put on the races.
45:46It was great.
45:47Kind of, you know, I feel like it's been like us the whole year.
45:49So, you know, I really appreciate always, you know, racing Ryan Blaney and Kyle, too.
45:53Those guys always, you know, run me really well.
45:55We all run really good together and hard.
45:56So, you know, hopefully we put a great show on for the fans.
45:58I really appreciate it.
45:59Thank you for Team 54 and everybody that's a part of this whole deal.
46:03What a great day.
46:04Ty Gibbs gets his first career Cup Series victory.
46:09And Coach Gibbs, the owner of the team, and today, Grandfather.
46:13Coach, you've had a lot of wins in your career and a lot of championships.
46:17What is this moment like right now watching your grandson get his first win?
46:20This is one of my best experiences.
46:23Obviously, when Denny won honoring JD's life, it was such a huge deal.
46:29When I think about Coy, he brought Ty up the entire time.
46:34This wish, I know he's probably watching.
46:38And so I just want to thank so many people.
46:41It starts with God.
46:43He's blessed us and our family.
46:46And just really, really can't say enough.
46:49Hey, this is the man right here.
46:52I've never seen somebody who works so hard in my life.
46:54You know, him and my mom, I come to the shop at 6 a.m. or 7 p.m.
46:58or when everybody's there.
46:59And they're not there.
47:00They're always there.
47:00They work their asses off.
47:02I really appreciate it.
47:03This is a great role model.
47:04I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him.
47:08It's just a huge deal for all of us.
47:11I just appreciate everything so much.
47:13I don't know if I'm still on here or not, but I am, yeah.
47:16Hey, I want to thank Tyler, Cole Pern, Grayson, all of our guys on the team.
47:24They did so much for this.
47:26Everybody back at Joe Gibbs Racing, thank you all so much for us being able to enjoy this.
47:33It's one of the great blessings I've had in life.
47:37All right, Coach, with that mic, send it over to Regan, okay?
47:40Okay.
47:40Regan, do something for a change.
47:43Do something.
47:46Well, Ryan Blaney, the runner-up in that fantastic finish, Ryan.
47:50Just some great battle, and at the end of the race right there, and you and I were talking,
47:54you said it got a little loose one of the times you thought maybe you had an opportunity.
47:57Anything that last green-white checkered you could have done different?
48:01Yeah, I mean, great battle for sure.
48:04You know, good battle all day, I thought, with a lot of different cars.
48:08Yeah, I mean, I got free into three, you know, two or three laps before the last yellow,
48:15and I kind of was side-by-side with Ty, and I just slipped getting in there.
48:18It was really easy to slip off the bottom, and that kind of cost me some time.
48:23And then, yeah, I don't know, I mean, gave it my best shot the last restart, got a good restart.
48:28And, you know, it was close, but just couldn't get it done.
48:32But I'm proud of the effort by all the 12 folks.
48:35Give me a really fast car, fast car in qualifying, got it better through the race, honestly.
48:40Halfway point of the race, I thought we got to be the best car, which was really good.
48:43So, appreciate that effort.
48:45Thanks to Discount Tire, Ford, Ford Racing, Menards, Advanced Auto Parts, Body Armor, Wabash,
48:53everybody who puts a lot into our program.
48:54Gosh, I really wanted to win at Bristol here.
48:58They came close, but congrats to Ty.
49:00He's been really close.
49:02You know, nothing's more special than your first cup win,
49:04and it's pretty cool to win here at this place and to race him, too.
49:07So, yeah, we'll move on, but fun day.
49:10Just wish we could have made it happen.
49:12All right, thanks, Ryan.
49:14Thanks, Regan.
49:16I love that Ty took the checkered flag and brought it straight to his mom.
49:20Mama.
49:22Want to see it again?
49:24Yeah, absolutely.
49:25There's not much that you can ask for better than this.
49:28All right, here's the overtime restart.
49:31Green, white, checker.
49:32Well, we knew that Ty needed to get a good launch right here.
49:37And I knew he was going to because of the preferred lining.
49:40He did, but look how much better the 12 was
49:43and even Briscoe behind him.
49:46Yeah, and he just had to be really careful to not let Kyle Larson
49:49get to that outside quarter panel.
49:51Larson can be like a gnat.
49:52He shows up in places that you never expect.
49:55And right here, they're door-to-door coming to the white flag.
49:58And Ty did a great job of not overdriving the car,
50:01keeping his car in the groove and not doing anything outside of what he needed to.
50:07And overall, got himself in a great position getting into turn three
50:11and great drive off turn four to win the race.
50:14I mean, a door-to-door finish after 500 laps at Bristol.
50:18You know, you can't say enough about the kid
50:21and you can't be happier for this kid, right?
50:23But you can't hurt any more than for Blaney.
50:26I mean, the day he had the ups and downs and everything,
50:29that's what racing is all about.
50:35On the way to Victory Lane.
50:37That's cool.
50:39Family tradition.
50:43Josh is with the third-place finisher.
50:46Well, Kyle Larson led 284 laps, a strong start to the race,
50:49but what more did you need in the end
50:51to be able to contend for the win here?
50:55Yeah, I mean, Blaney had by far the best car.
50:57His picker just kept putting him behind all day,
51:00which really allowed us to, you know, lead a lot of laps
51:03and get those stage wins.
51:05And, yeah, so that was good.
51:07Happy about all of that.
51:09Just knew it was going to be difficult to hold him off ever.
51:12And it seemed like every restart he could just plow right through the field
51:17and get to second and then was just really fast.
51:20So, yeah, and then Ty got strong there the last run too.
51:24That was probably my worst run, I think.
51:27We were making some adjustments at that point,
51:29and I just got a little bit out of the track.
51:32And, yeah, they were just better than me.
51:35So, and then, you know, the strategy got kind of crazy there at the end.
51:39And, you know, we took the third-place car and finished third.
51:42So happy with the points earned today.
51:44And you'll look forward to next week.
51:47Blarson comes home third, Regan.
51:49Well, Tyler Reddick starts second today, ends up fourth.
51:53There was a lot that happened, though, in the middle that had to overcome a speed and penalty, Tyler.
51:57And I know you've been working hard on these short tracks.
51:59And to come back from that, how does this one feel?
52:01It feels really good, Regan.
52:03Yeah, you know, unfortunately for us, miscommunication, you know,
52:07before that first pit sequence and just had my wrong mark.
52:11So it was a really good bounce back for our Comparian Toyota Camry.
52:15Billy, everybody on this 45 team did a really good job.
52:17And, yeah, we had to fight for it all day long.
52:19You know, we had more speed this time around, which was great.
52:21But, unfortunately, still kind of fighting brake and steering issues along the way.
52:26So it was a very physical day inside the race car.
52:29I might even take a day off tomorrow.
52:31All right.
52:31Well-deserved day off.
52:32Take that day off.
52:33All right.
52:44Ty Gibbs with his mom Heather alongside, rolls it into victory lane at Bristol.
52:52Wow.
52:53You saw Denny Hamlin come over, congratulate him, a couple other drivers as he was rolling into victory lane.
52:58A kind of a long-awaited win for this young fella.
53:05Yeah, I mean, we've been expecting that he was going to win.
53:09And we saw this last year at the end of the year when he was able to start running so
53:12well week in and week out.
53:13And that carried right over into the start of the season this year to put himself into victory lane here
53:19at Bristol.
53:19What could have happened last year here?
53:21Made a little bit of a mistake coming on pit road and cost him at the end of that race.
53:25But there's a reason we had him on the pre-race show.
53:27It's because we believe that it was coming and it may come right here this weekend in Bristol.
53:32One of you three picked him to win.
53:35Would that have been McMurray?
53:36It had been that little short McMurray.
53:39He got us this week, didn't he?
53:44Well, Tyler Reddick did a great job finishing fourth.
53:47And Chase Briscoe is today within one point of making the playoffs, Jamie.
53:53That's good news for him because it's been a tough go this season.
53:56He gets his second top five of the year.
53:58You started top five.
53:59You guys maintain there.
54:00Mike just talked about it.
54:01You're just outside Chase contention at this point.
54:05Take me through your day.
54:06Yeah, just a clean, solid, executed race.
54:10That's what we needed.
54:11We weren't good enough speed-wise for the top two or three guys.
54:14We just kind of hung around that fifth to seventh place all kind of day long.
54:18So, yeah, just needed a little bit more in our Lance Crackers Toyota.
54:21But just, yeah, just a clean, solid day.
54:23And that's what we needed.
54:24So, just super happy for Ty.
54:26That's been a long time coming.
54:28And just to do it the way he did it on old tires and to beat the two guys that
54:32kind of dominate all day long.
54:33That was impressive.
54:35So, just super happy for him and the whole family and looking forward to seeing him in victory lane.
54:38Chase Briscoe brings it home fifth today.
54:40Regan.
54:42Well, Todd Gillen, if there's a hard charger award, you definitely get that today.
54:45Start 35th, finish sixth in a wreck in the middle of the race.
54:48Two tires at the end.
54:49A little bit of everything.
54:50How does this run feel?
54:51Yeah, absolutely.
54:52It feels amazing.
54:54And, yeah, like you said, man, even when we qualified 35th yesterday, I'm like, oh, my gosh, we have a
54:58long day ahead.
54:59But tough place to pass.
55:01My team did a great job.
55:02Our execution was there all day.
55:04And, yeah, just, you know, super, super lucky to be driving these Fords.
55:07So, thank you, Bob Jenkins, Jerry Freeze, loves travel stops.
55:11Like I said, everyone at Front Row Motorsports and Ford for letting me do this and my team for not
55:16giving up on me, man.
55:17We got to get qualified and figured out.
55:19Wow, that's top of our minds and make these days a little bit easier on us.
55:22But just insanely proud for not giving up.
55:25Our strategy was, you know, dead on all day long.
55:28And, you know, my crew chief and I are, you know, immediately on the same page.
55:31So, yeah, just overall a really, really good day for us.
55:35Yeah, just got to keep building on it.
55:36Nice run today for Todd Gilliland.
55:38Rest of the top ten were Logano, Preece, Hamlin, and Hosevar.
55:44And here are the Cup Series standings as we leave Bristol and get back to the weekly grind.
55:50Yeah, you see our winner right there, Ty Gibbs in fourth place.
55:53Tyler Reddick still 62 points up on second place.
55:58But that doesn't really matter.
56:00You just want to be in that top six, Clint.
56:02Yeah, and you've been telling me that all year long, and I agree with you.
56:05But, yeah, there's just so many storylines leaving here.
56:10My mind's all over the place.
56:11But for me, just leave so satisfied as a fan, you know?
56:15Yeah.
56:15Well, it was a great race today.
56:17And I think when you look at the grooves that this racetrack presented and the way that the track raced
56:21and the tires,
56:22all the differences that we had in the cars, hard to drive.
56:25Cars spinning out.
56:26If your car was good, you could still run the bottom.
56:28If your car was fast, you could run the top.
56:30So, pretty interesting day.
56:31Very impressed with the racetrack.
56:33To your point, you could race all over the place.
56:35Blaney was ultra strong on the bottom.
56:37It started to wear out a little bit.
56:38The race was ultimately won on the outside with Gibbs.
56:41But lots of racing throughout the field all day long really was.
56:45And that was the key.
56:46I think you've got to come here to Bristol to see a race because we had a lot of three
56:50-wide racing all day long.
56:52Maybe it wasn't for a long time, lap after lap after lap.
56:55But the folks who were here saw a great show.
56:57They did.
56:58And like I say, I think my favorite thing today was not only the way that the race went, but
57:03the Gibbs family winning.
57:05Coach Gibbs, you see the joy.
57:06You see how much effort they put into everything that goes into our sport.
57:10And to see Ty Gibbs in victory lane was pretty neat for that whole organization.
57:14Well, he earned it.
57:15Look at the cars.
57:16He had a dominant car.
57:17The five car dominated a lot of the race.
57:19The 12 car was up and down because the pit road was extremely strong.
57:22And he was on his inside and he held him off for those last green-white checkered.
57:26I mean, he flat out earned it.
57:28And Joe Gibbs puts everything into this race team.
57:30He doesn't have a big industry behind him to support this.
57:34This is his life.
57:35Yeah, and they love being a part of this sport, been a part of it for a long time, won
57:39a lot of races.
57:40And there they are again.
57:43All right, next week from Kansas, ARCA race, 12.30 p.m. Eastern Time on FS1 Saturday.
57:49Next Sunday, NASCAR race day, 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Fox.
57:54Then the Advent Health 400, 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Fox.
57:58Then Indy cars from Long Beach.
58:00It's a big Sunday, racing on Fox.
58:03Coming up next, the NHRA Winter National Finals from Pomona.
58:15We'll be right back.
58:41We'll be right back.
