00:00I put the floor top here where the rack goes just for convenience, it's just kind of like
00:03the style I've always played. I like to get a lot of the snare sound and not too
00:09much of like I guess like a piccolo sound, not too tight.
00:38Hi, this is Eugene from Somersault and we are on our Reside tour right now. This tour is
00:44going across North America and we are playing songs from our new album Reside. We are on
00:50tour with Boy Scott and Wad. This is my drum kit. I have a Ludwig Supersonic. It's a 6.5,
01:01it's a little deeper. Yeah, 6.5 depth and 14. I got, you know, my Ludwig kit. It's just a,
01:10you know, it's like a take on a super classic. It's heritage blue color style. I love this
01:16kit. I got a 16x16 floor tom. I put the floor tom here where the rack goes just for convenience.
01:24It's just kind of like the style I've always played. I got a 22x20 kick. I like to play with
01:31these, oh, snare weights. I got the M80 on the floor tom and then I use 270 on the snare.
01:40Adjustable.
01:41It's just such a great product. Also for heads, I like to just use the standard Remo Ambassador
01:49heads coated on the snare. I still have the stock Ludwig head on here because I just think
01:55it sounds so good. I'm trying to go as far as I can without changing that. Use the same
02:01thing on the kick. And then out here, we actually have an Evans head because that's who we have
02:09helping us get our heads. So, yeah. For snare, I go a little tight. Not too tight. I like to
02:16get a lot of the snare sound and not too much of like, I guess like a piccolo sound. Not
02:23too
02:23tight. For the floor, I'm pretty loose, as you can hear. Try to get that deeper sound at only
02:29having one tom. It's kind of try to be a little versatile. So, hitting it in certain places
02:34during certain times, but yeah, keeping it loose. Over here, I have some Jiljin new beats that
02:40I've had for so long. Great symbol. On the bottom, I have just like a super old Avedis.
02:47Can't really see. All the labels have been scratched off from just years of wear. These are just
02:5214s. Yeah, 14 top, 14 bottom. I used to play with the bottom on the top for more like bounce,
02:59but, you know, I think I needed a thinner sound with doing vocals and less symbol bleed.
03:05For my crash, I use a 19 inch dark crash from Vinyl. The classic, the dark classic customs.
03:13These are pretty cool symbols, but I feel like, yeah, it just gives a nice dark sound. Kind
03:22of loud at times, but it's nice. I like this symbol a lot. So, as you can see, I used
03:29two
03:29crashes instead of like a ride and a crash. This is kind of like my ride, but it's a 20
03:34inch
03:35medium crash by Vinyl. It's a Byzance. I'd like to get a set of Byzances, but for now, I'm just
03:40using this one. And this, I like this symbol because it's versatile as well. It can be used as a
03:45ride,
03:46even though it's not a ride, but it's big enough to be a ride. These are Promark Rebound 7A. I
03:51like to
03:52play with 7A because I just like the thinness of this stick. I typically play with these 7A Finesse
03:59by Promark. These are my favorite. They're super light. The Rebound kind of has like a little more
04:04bounce, so when I play like the drive-year songs, I like to switch with this and play these for
04:08the
04:08softer, guys. So, as you guys know, I use chimes in Somersault Live. Very fun thing. Just a small
04:17tree works chimes. For my kick cuddle, I have this low boy that I love here based in Chicago, actually.
04:25Got it at the drum exchange a long time ago. He's a shaker in one song. I used to have
04:32a drum pad, but for
04:33this tour, I'm not using it for samples and stuff. And then we've got our own clips and mics for
04:40the
04:40tour as well. So everything's kind of in-house and try to have as little stands as we can.
04:48And then on the vocal mic, we have this, I think it's called an optogate. And what it does is
04:55kind
04:56of, you have to be in vision for it to open a gate for your voice to actually go through.
05:01And it's really
05:02helpful for cymbal bleed. Being a drummer, that's one of the greatest things.
05:06This is just a standard Ludwig Throne that came with the kit. We were lucky enough to get this kit
05:14after some of our stuff got stolen a few years ago, so thanks. Thank you guys for watching.
05:20Go check out our album, Reside. We just released it in November. It's got 13 songs written from us
05:28and about our journey living from California to Texas. And check us out on Instagram and
05:34Spotify, SomersaultATX. And yeah, thanks for listening. See you soon.
05:41We'll see you soon.
05:42Bye.
05:42Bye.
