00:00This is my pedal board. It's just a tuner. Not sure what the gauges are, but I will figure it
00:06out.
00:32Hey, I'm Winston Triolo. I play bass with Somersault. So we're on our tour, our Reside tour, and we're playing
00:41our new album Reside, as well as a bunch of old songs as well. And I'm going to show you
00:49what I play.
00:50So this is a Fender Mustang JMJ Signature Bass. I got it not too long ago, and I really like
00:58it. I have flatwounds on it, except for a string popped the other night, so we're using a regular bass
01:07string for the D-string right now until I can find a convenient music store to go to on tour.
01:13So I got this on Facebook Marketplace a few months ago, and it came with these flatwounds on it that
01:18I really like. Not sure what the gauges are, but I will figure it out.
01:22Yeah, when I dial it in, I just put the tone knob all the way up and the volume all
01:26the way up just to keep it simple.
01:27So I'm using a Fender Rumble 200 for tour, and I plug it into a DI box.
01:37So when I dial it in, I like to have the vintage knob on. I like to get a lot
01:44of treble in mid, and yeah, I like really punchy, bright sound.
01:50So I think the combination of having the treble up and playing a Mustang achieves that, but having the flatwounds
01:58also gives it some body and punch to it, so it's not too bright.
02:04I use primarily these Topo Chico picks. Topo Chico actually gave us like 200 picks, and they're just regular hard
02:15picks, and I try to give out as many during the show as I can.
02:18I found this super cool flame strap at a thrift store, and it's probably my favorite strap I've ever owned.
02:24This is my pedal board. It's just a tuner. I like to keep it simple, and our sound guy, Robbie,
02:34he's mainly running all the compression and EQ out front, so this is what I got.
02:40Yeah, go check out Somersault on Spotify, iTunes Music, or wherever you can. Go check out our new album, Reside.
02:50We're really proud of it, and really listen to those bass lines.
