Transcript
00:14In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
00:18peace be with you.
00:20We acknowledge our sins, more importantly, the compassion,
00:24the mercy and the love of God.
00:26Loving God, you are with us in good times and in bad times.
00:30Lord, have mercy.
00:32You call us away from confusion into love.
00:35Christ, have mercy.
00:37Your love is bigger than anything.
00:39Lord, have mercy.
00:41May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
00:45and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:49Let us pray.
00:52Grant, we pray, Almighty God,
00:55that we who have been renewed by Paschal Remedies,
00:59transcending the likeness of our earthly heritage.
01:03May we transform in the image of our Heavenly Maker,
01:06through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
01:09who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, God,
01:12for ever and ever.
01:14Amen.
01:16A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
01:20As soon as Peter and John were released,
01:22they went to the community
01:24and told them everything the chief priests and elders had said to them.
01:28When they heard it,
01:30they lifted up their voice to God altogether.
01:33Master, they prayed,
01:35it is you who made heaven and earth and sea,
01:38and everything in them.
01:40You it is who said through the Holy Spirit,
01:43and speaking to our ancestor David, your servant,
01:47why this arrogance among the nations,
01:50these futile plots among the peoples,
01:52kings on earth setting out to war,
01:56princes making an alliance against the Lord
01:58and against his anointed.
02:01This is what has come true.
02:03In this very city,
02:05Herod and Pontius Pilate
02:07make an alliance with the pagan nations
02:10and the peoples of Israel,
02:12against your holy servant Jesus,
02:15whom you anointed,
02:16but only to bring about
02:18the very thing
02:19that you in your strength
02:21and your wisdom
02:22had premeditated,
02:25predetermined,
02:26should happen.
02:28And now, Lord,
02:29take note of the threats
02:31and help your servants
02:32to proclaim your message
02:34with all boldness,
02:37by stretching out your hand
02:39to heal and to work miracles
02:41and marvels
02:43through the name of your holy servant Jesus.
02:46as they prayed,
02:48and the house
02:49where they were assembled
02:50rocked,
02:51and they were all filled
02:53with the Holy Spirit
02:54and began to proclaim
02:56the word of God boldly.
03:02The word of the Lord.
03:05Thanks be to God.
03:12Alleluia.
03:14Alleluia.
03:15Why this tumult among the nations,
03:18among the peoples,
03:19this useless murmuring?
03:20They arise,
03:22the kings of the earth,
03:23princes plot against the Lord
03:25and his anointed.
03:26Come let us break their fetters,
03:29come let us cast off their yoke.
03:31Happy are all
03:32who put their alleluia.
03:35He who sits in the heavens
03:37laughs,
03:38the Lord is laughing them
03:39to scorn.
03:41Then he will speak in his anger,
03:43his rage will strike them with terror.
03:46It is I who have set up my king on Zion,
03:49my holy mountain.
03:52Alleluia.
03:53I will announce the decree of the Lord.
03:56The Lord said to me,
03:58you are my son.
03:59It is I who have be caught in you this day.
04:02Ask and I shall bequeath you the nations.
04:05Put the ends of the earth in your possession.
04:08With a rod of iron,
04:09you will break them,
04:11shatter them like a potter's jar.
04:14Alleluia.
04:16Alleluia,
04:16alleluia.
04:17If then you have been raised with Christ,
04:20seek the things that are above,
04:22where Christ is seated,
04:24at the right hand of God.
04:26Alleluia.
04:28The Lord be with you.
04:30A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
04:33Glory to you, O Lord.
04:36There was one of the Pharisees called Nicodemus,
04:39a leading Jew,
04:40who came to Jesus by night
04:42and said,
04:43Rabbi,
04:44we know that you are a teacher
04:46who comes from God,
04:48for no one could perform the signs that you do
04:51unless God were with him.
04:53Jesus answered,
04:55I tell you most solemnly,
04:57unless a man is born from above,
04:59he cannot see the kingdom of God.
05:03Nicodemus said,
05:04how can a grown man be born?
05:06Can he go back into his mother's womb
05:09and be born again?
05:10Jesus replied,
05:12I tell you most solemnly,
05:14unless a man is born through water and the Holy Spirit,
05:18he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
05:20What is born of flesh is flesh.
05:23What is born of the Spirit is spirit.
05:25Do not be surprised then when I say,
05:28you must be born from above.
05:30The wind blows where it pleases.
05:33You hear its sound,
05:35but you cannot tell where it comes from
05:37or where it is going.
05:38It is how it is
05:40with all who are born of the Spirit.
05:43The gospel of the Lord.
05:46Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:56Easter is about rebirth.
05:59Easter is about the beginnings.
06:01We carry so much stuff within us.
06:05Our own personal challenges that we carry,
06:11the challenges of the ones we love,
06:14anxieties about the future,
06:17regrets about the past.
06:19And Jesus is saying,
06:20now is the moment of grace.
06:23Allow God to resurrect you,
06:27to fill you with hope.
06:29God is with us.
06:31We are not alone.
06:32This is the message of Easter.
06:35We are risen with Christ.
06:37We rise with him.
06:39We rise above our sin,
06:41our fear,
06:42our self-doubt.
06:44We rise above whatever is challenging us.
06:47God is with us.
06:57Blessed are you,
06:59Lord God of all creation.
07:00For to your goodness,
07:02we have this bread to offer,
07:03which earth has given human hands have made.
07:06It will become for us the bread of life.
07:09Blessed be God forever.
07:12Amen.
07:19Amen.
07:28Blessed are you,
07:29Lord God of all creation.
07:31For to your goodness,
07:32we have this wine to offer,
07:34fruit of divine work of human hands.
07:37It will become our spiritual dream.
07:40Blessed be God forever.
07:52Let us pray,
07:53brothers and sisters,
07:54that my sacrifice and yours
07:55may be acceptable to God,
07:57our almighty Father.
07:59May the Lord accept this sacrifice
08:01at our hands
08:02with the praise and glory of God's name
08:04for our good
08:05and the good of God's holy church.
08:12Let us pray.
08:14Receive, O Lord, we pray,
08:15these offerings of your exultant church
08:18and as you have given her cause
08:20for such great gladness,
08:22grant us so that the gifts we bring
08:24may bear fruit in perpetual happiness
08:26through Christ, our Lord.
08:29Amen.
08:30The Lord be with you.
08:32Lift up your hearts.
08:34Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:40It is truly right and just
08:42our duty and our salvation
08:44at all times to acclaim you, O Lord,
08:47but in this time above all
08:48to lord you yet more gloriously
08:50when Christ, our Passover,
08:52has been sacrificed.
08:53Through him,
08:55the children of light
08:56rise to eternal life
08:57and the hosts of the heavenly kingdom
08:59are thrown open to the faithful.
09:02For his death
09:03is our ransom from death
09:05and in his rising
09:06the life of all has risen.
09:09Therefore,
09:10overcome with paschal joy,
09:12every land,
09:13every people
09:14exalts in your praise
09:15and even the heavenly powers
09:17with the angelic hosts
09:19sing together
09:20the unending hymn
09:21of your glory
09:22as they acclaim
09:24Holy,
09:25Holy,
09:26Holy Lord,
09:27God of hosts,
09:28heaven and earth
09:29are full of your glory.
09:31Hosanna in the highest.
09:33Blessed is he who comes
09:34in the name of the Lord.
09:36Hosanna in the highest.
09:39You are indeed holy,
09:41O Lord,
09:41the fount of all holiness.
09:43Make holy,
09:44therefore these gifts we pray
09:45by sending down your spirit
09:47upon them like the dewfall
09:48so that they may become for us
09:51the body and blood
09:53of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:55At the time he was betrayed
09:56and entered willingly
09:58into his passion,
09:59he took bread
10:00and giving thanks
10:02broke it
10:03and gave it to his disciples
10:05saying,
10:06Take this all of you
10:07and eat of it
10:08for this is my body
10:10which will be given up
10:12for you.
10:18in a similar way
10:20when supper was ended
10:22he took the chalice
10:24and once more giving thanks
10:26he gave it to his disciples
10:28saying,
10:29Take this all of you
10:30and drink from it
10:31for this is the chalice
10:33of my blood
10:34the blood of the new
10:36and eternal covenant
10:37which will be poured out
10:39for you and for many
10:41for the forgiveness
10:42of sins
10:43do this
10:44in memory of me
10:52The mystery of faith
10:55we proclaim your death
10:57O Lord
10:57and profess your resurrection
10:59until you come again
11:05therefore as we celebrate
11:07the memorial
11:08of his death
11:09and resurrection
11:10we offer you Lord
11:11the bread of life
11:12and the chalice of salvation
